okay, did a little more testing.
With approximately 400 fps, i was able to boost up a wall in 20.7 seconds.
With approximately 350 fps, i was able to boost up the wall in 22.17 seconds.
It appears that the greater the frame rate, the faster you are able to boost, and if the frame rate is too low, you cant boost at all in some areas.

Hi LivingLooneyBin,

I have the limited edition. Turning Vsync off worked! Thank you very much.
Yeah, it seems that you need to be playing the game at at least ~60 to 100 fps in order to make the Ailen machine skip possible
hi again, i have a doubt.. if any game have glitches that can save time, the runner must use it?
or a glitched run is just in another category?

I don't think there is a rule to force a runner to use glitches if he doesn't want to. It also heavily depends on the difficulty of the glitches.
For example if you're doing a Single-Segment run you should be forgiven avoiding certain risks (like glitches that can kill you, may cost much time or ruin your attempt in another way).
But remember that if there are glitches that are widely considered easy and beneficial, you might get blamed for not using them.

To get an own category the glitch usually must be a really big one (major skips).

My friend and I are doing our co-op runs with no glitches. My friend does not like glitching.

I don't see a problem doing no glitch runs. Seems to me it would be a different category but I am not the authority on this. The glitches do skip a good bit and are a pretty annoying to do.
feel free to not use the skips, but i dont think we should have it as glitchless, i mean everyone who runs this game already runs different categories lol. Personally, im going to keep using the skips in my runs, but the resetting does become a colossal pain.
Like I said, as far as it concerns runs submitted to SDA, there is no rule forcing you to use glitches, but there is the general rule that your gameplay must have a certain amount of quality, and not using glitches or tricks that are available to you might lower this quality and lead to a rejection.
Annoyance is something you probably won't get around if you're running with the intention of getting a decent time.

Best regards

apparently you all have many reason, all of us are running in different categories.
I have own Statistics from my failed runs that are  actually  approximate to the final time.

---No glitched Run with (No NG+) in hardcore, Impossible mode and Pure Survival: the total time is very close to 3:08:00
---No Glitched Run with Devil Horns NG+ Casual "3:06:00"
---Glitched Run, Casual Mode with Devil Horns "sub 2:57:00"
---Glitched Run, Pure Survival,  No NG+ No devil horns "Sub "2:58:00"
==Awakened: for the dlc the difficult is irrelevant with the use of Devil horns: i ran all modes and have the same sub: "0:24:00" My current time is 0:24:19

About the Glitch: it save about 9 minutes of about 195: approximate 4% or 5% of the no glith run, i don't know if this represents a major skip or not,
but the truth is that the glitch is really hard to do, Living LooneyBIn and Me have a few months trying it, even if you do everything right seems to work almost randomly:
the glitched run is a real pain even with devil horns, and you can imagine running without D.H and on pure survival mode.

For that reason i decided "run pure survival" in 2 segments: Sub 3 Hours is more than warranted Tongue
Hardcore in sigle segmented "No glitched" Sub 3:08:00"
Awakened of any difficult with Devil Hornd "Sub 0:24:00"

My best run is undoubtedly Hardcore, but die to do gitch is not possible on that mode, I only can wait no reject after get it.
He, okay, I guess in this case avoiding the glitch is not a big deal. I thought we were talking about several smaller glitches here.
Those categories definitely sound interesting. How much time do you think playing in co-op would save or cost ?
co op would cost a bunch of time due to extra scenes and loading doors.

Those are all really good times Sahailaway, ive been stuck on my 3:00:57 for like a month cause the suit skip has failed me every time ive done a run recently, was starting to lose motivation till i saw you got an approximate sub 2:57:00

But i can get sub 3 hours only in 2 parts, and sub 2:57 on chapter by chapter. you are runnin in best single-segment run, and i on best segmented run
all are different categories except for hardcore: that is in single-seg but reject is really possible.
and always the single-seg is longer than the segmented run.
just see all the categories for Resident Evil 4, I think this game is a very similar case.
And dont worry about the glitch, the main problem is that you use the checkpoint too fast, when issac covers her face while walking "few seconds before u reload the game", you must give 4 steps more towards the wind direction

just with this, about 7/10 tries works for me.
my issue is i dont know the route to get to the area where isaac covers his face, i use a different route which requires me falling to my death to trigger the checkpoint, but im having difficulties getting the right point to fall off

Hi sahailaway,

I am also having a problem with the suit skip. I get close to getting it but I am not using the mine gun to mark points. There is one hump in the terrain where the enemies spawn that is hard to get over for me. Do you have a video of your glitched run there? It would help a lot for me. (I am practicing glitches to see if can use in my co-op run even though my friend hates them hehe)

Thanks man

PS: We will probably do a run around 4pm CST today with our normal settings. Co-Op Impossible single-segment no glitch no special weapons co-op revive on. We got 4:48:59 game time last time. I hope for better.  Maybe 4:30 this time. Possibly when I learn glitches if work in co-op under 4 hrs would be cool. Anyway if you want to pop in and say hi that would be a cool moral boost for me. Thanks!

Didus, you should learn with the mines first, its difficult to do even with them, also, the mines arent the only weapons that mark the ground. The videos on my twitch channel show how to do it kinda, but its all practice, you eventually can feel out the terrain and it becomes easier to get further through the skip. Dont worry, that part with the necromorphs is probably the most awkward part of the skip to get down, once you get that, its all a matter of getting the end right.

Hi Didius: Living is right, this glitch is really really hard, the main problem of no mark points is that u can't see if you are "stock" or moving, the first part of the glith when u find 3 necromorphs is easy without marks, but after that brand everything is completely blind, I use the direction of the snow to get my bearings a little better and telemetry-spike to shoot the ground or walls.

I know, the problem is that these places "dead point & checkpoint area" are next to each other: almost together.
About the alien machine skip- Yesterday i got the climb with no dead, checkpoint works!!
with this u will save another 10~15 secs, also! i found another checkpoint that save time:
in Dissection hangar by first time and go up to put the battery, when the elevator descends with the conversation of ellie and issac the savedata appear and will set u in the lower floor from the gate. save 8 secs,
using checkpoin on the alien machine and this elevador will save about 20 secs!

Very cool finds sahailaway.  Also that is really good to know telementry-spike shows cause you can get that in new game run. Thanks!
You are right LivingLooneyBin. Also thanks for chatting with me during that run was fun.

Yes I need to practice with a gun that marks and probably an arctic suit too. I am dumb and was just trying to do it over and over and dieing. I will get it right eventually.

This skip keeps happening in our co-op runs. LivingLooneyBin said it was probably do to a de-sync of when we load in to the level. My friend stays in the eleveator back wall or else the cutscene triggers. It happens every run now. Maybe one of the few things that is faster in co-op lol.
http://www.twitch.tv/didiustv/c/2810991

Also we found a de-sync problem on the first space jump with mines. Some mines don't load on the screen for the second player. If we don't shoot mines in our path someone will just randomly die to an invisible mine!
I have found a route for the suit skip that is consistent, and explainable, im going to record it later today to post
As i said, here is a link to an explained route for the suit repair skip, note that this is using a death route and therefore cant be used in hardcore. http://www.twitch.tv/livinglooneybin/c/2973963

very good explanation. i'll upload the "checkpoint use" for the second glitch soon as possible. I have not found anything new because I'm trying to improve my dead space 1 & 2 runs.
I do not know if I remember correctly but.. do you found a skip-gliltch on ds2 in the ishimura?
i did find a glitch to run through the walls of the ishimura in ds2, allowing me to skip the quarantine room, but i was unable to repeat the glitch.
So i found this possible skip earlier today, and i would like some help trying to figure out if theirs a spot where you can fall off to load the next area. http://www.twitch.tv/livinglooneybin/c/2978537
Easier access to the ceiling:
Nice find Ymh, that makes it alot quicker and easier to test for a working death spot

Hopefully this can be useful.

It was pretty late (like 3AM) so we only tried 2 elevators after this area. One with really long loading did nothing but one elevator with really short loading instantly floated us up so it looks to depend on how long the elevator drops. For this to work you must shoot the top ceiling grill so you can float through. It is easier to float up if you crouch at the back of the elevator and don't press anything.

Magnum66 will have a better explanation video soon. We did this on PS3 Co-op so no idea if PC will also have the bug.
