I recently completed this new title and i believe a run of this could be around 2 hours glitchless.
Need to spend some time on the game but in many sections of the game you can run past enemies.

I also managed to somehow bug the game out when i entered a broken down room and on the other side stood the priest, i could jump down, climb up and walk through the priest to continue onwards.
Not sure how it happened but i might have skipped some trigger...
Will try and find it on my Twitch to highlight and post here.
Thread title:
I am learning this game as well and did the exact same thing you did in my first playthrough by accident.

All I know is the floor suddenly broke, so I walked backwards and was able to stay on the floor. Then I jumped down to the preist.. I could walk through him & he wasn't moving.
I lost mine
I've been considering running this game.
Overall it's pretty straight forward and simple. just a bunch of running around knowing where to go and when to get things. I imagine that there are a few glitches that could be used.
I don't remember having that glitch you both talked about.
In any case a speedrun of this game would be pretty interesting and if I don't run it I would be very interested in seeing a run of it.

There's a speedrun of it on youtube already by someone named Valois805

54:10 is the quoted time, no idea what SDA time would be.

Might serve as a good jumping off point
EDIT: Wow copy paste failed me.

definitely going to learn off this post.

If somebody could help set me up to stream i'd do it Smiley
In my casual playthru i somehow skipped having my camera break and the laundry chute without realizing. gonna go back and try to remember what I did

I saw that when I watched some videos.. I never went thru that and I think it's because of what OP & I were discussing earlier

Wow, a run? Nice. Watched a playthrough of that game a while ago and I was curious how a run would look like. Nice, work, I'm gonna watch it now!

the community for this game isn't dead! good I'm looking forward to running this game.
what is the record for Glitchless Outlast speedruns?
My best run so far and possibly current WR, using the "god glitch" discovered by mercylolk (twitch.tv/mercylolk)

Don't know if this is old news or even worth while, but there is a load warp glitch having to do with the explosion vent skip. VOD here: http://www.twitch.tv/saintconnor/c/3561159

I'm having trouble with this god skip. I've managed to get it to where I hit the floor and die, but I never get a save state so it never works. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Edit - Well, I'm kinda getting it...but I think this skip at a whole is too inconsistent. It seems dependent on the load times of the environment and it seems random every time I've tried no matter how consistent I am with the set up. Regardless, I found a faster way to do the skip that avoids death and reloading the scene. http://www.twitch.tv/saintconnor/c/3571456

(Same person here posting as hpxe before)

That's pretty cool, especially if it can be consistent. I just tried that, and I managed to fall down the elevator shaft, but I still died when hitting the floor.
I can get the "original" way to work about 75% of the time now, by using some details of the textures to position myself and then using air control (holding forward and right strafe and mouse movement) to move the character into the right spot (behind the door).

But I agree that it's probably dependent on the load times and a death (in the original glitch) never seems like a "clean" way of skipping a part of the game.

Yeah, myself and wrongwarped were practicing this and even though we were using the same setups we constantly got different results. My way is the same thing. While I can get the jump consistent, the loading of the elevator shaft is different every attempt. Not trying to discredit the glitch because it is extremely useful when it works, just maybe there is something we are missing with how it works.

Also something to note. From the room you do the god glitch, the area above is the hallway to the priest where you get the final key. I accidentally got warped there one time when messing around on the whiteboard and bookshelves. So maybe it's worth looking into if its more consistent as it would still skip a decent amount of the game.

Warping to the key sounds pretty useful. Actually, I'm all for making this glitch obsolete, due to it's general wonkiness. And apart from that it skips a few other fun glitches as well Wink
Well, I'm still working with it, so I don't want to call it obsolete just yet. After a couple of hours of messing with it last night, there might be a sure fire way to get it. Maybe not the quick way, because that requires a little luck, but there is some interesting collision with the elevator shaft that keeps you outside the shaft and fall through the floor, but will still trigger the save state. Again, I'm not sure how consistent it is, but I got it this way a couple of times while specifically attempting this method, so we'll see.

But yeah, theater glitch is a fun glitch too. Would be interesting to see if that works on any other doors in the game or if that door only works because of the balcony being behind the door.
connor that's the reason theatre works, becuase you grab onto the balcony. without a similar layout you can't get through it

Don't sass me! lol

But consider the window glitches. There is nothing assisting you from passing through, it just kind of happens. If something like that can occur elsewhere, it might be worth investigating.
