Crouch stabbing copies the last attack's power, nothing else.
for example, if you jumpslash with a deku stick, it will break on whichever enemy(or wall) you hit.  Crouch stabbing will mimmick the POWER of the jumpslash, but the sword will not break.  So, the crouch stab would theorhetically have the power of a bottle, but not work like a bottle (not that it does any damage aside from reflecting Ganondorf's attacks).  Also, just to make sure, I tried it several times with both fish AND bugs, and it didn't work.  It was a good idea, though.  That is what you meant, right?

Hey all.

Been busy.  I really do have Segments 4/6 redone, for about two weeks now.  I'm trying to redo 10, I'd really like to get in the bombchu and bomb trick...I've said my piece about the TAS, I kinda need to step up and deliver on what I said.

I need at least 1 bombchu for the Hyrule Castle part.  Hyrule castle to King Zora is very easy for me now, but King Zora Skip, I get like 3-5 pretty frequently...heh...I need more practice on timing - especially if I need to do it Jabu-Jabu for the mini-boss skip.

Just as a note, if you have 1 bombchu it may be faster to do the bombhover at hyrule castle and then do the miniboss skip w/ the bomb+bombchu method. (Though that would technically require a full platform ride... and Im not sure if the other can be completed in less time)

I'm gonna use the Bombchu at Hyrule Castle to skip the moat.

Not true.  Swing your hammer and you can break rocks and kill Volvagia entirely with crouch-stabs.
A crouching stab preserves the attack power of the most recent sword attack. For our purposes, the Deku Stick is considered a "sword," but all other inventory items aren't.
The original leever.
are you calling guest2 a liar?!

or is he just wrong?

I think there was a video showing the preservation of the megaton hammer power using crouch stabs, and the infinite sword glitch.

@Okiyama, do you want some numbers  Wink
can't you use only one bomb and a jumpslash for hyrule castle?

Don't know, I couldn't do it.  Sad

I just skipped the fire temple Boss Key. It was tough and I did it in pj64 but I can tell you guys how it works. If anyone has a mupen save near there (the flame maze room) w/ some chus I'll make a vid. Drop the pillar. Then store swordglitch and then get right up against the ledge. Time it and drop a bomb off the ledge, then backflip down there and shield it while you fall. Now pull a bomb. Time it, then drop it and then time the backflip so you shield it as you fall past. Then do that till you go below the top of that bottom room. Now, do 1 or 2 backflip bombchus w/ bow. Then backflip into the load. (could be a boundary violation)

He's back!
That couldn't be a boundary, its just like entering Jabu without a fish.

EDIT: Ok I assumed to much the other day but I don't think its possible to skip the boss key in Spirit, since I couldn't levatate carefully enough to avoid entering another room that wasn't yet loaded. I also wonder if its possible to skip the boss key in Forest since I've never actually bothered to try, but at least you can breach the walls in the main room which gives you a chance of doing it.

except you go through the wall and behind the door into empty space (thou not really empty since there is a load but you know what I mean). Less like jabu, more like epona early.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
We can skip the Boss Key in Fire now? Sweet.

New Segment 4 up.  12 seconds faster than previous.  Could be probably 25 faster if I pulled off everything just right.

Segment 6 tomorrow, going to bed.

After watching Acryte's Bombchu to Bomb Bag Chest videos more closely, I see he releases the slingshot really late into the backflip...I think I got it now, I'll give 10 more tries.

It was good. No real mistakes, just a little hesitation here and there.

Yeah, more time can be saved.  But it saved enough that I'll just move on.

Really wanna get 10 and 11 done...hardest segments in the run.  12 is pretty easy (just mini-boss skip in Jabu-Jabu, but stage is short, and it's just timing bombs, which is easier for me than bombchus).

Only other hard things I see are entering the Shadow Temple (Dampe Race will be fun) and then the Spirit Temple segment.  Rest of adult should be pretty easy.
Speed is the key.
The url for segment 4 doesn't seem to work....
