But what do you need the gauntlets for? I think you can just skip them, too.
I know the block in Spirit can be skipped, but I'm just trying to achieve the next immediate goal. Currently, that is Dodongo's for the Ruby. Even if I pass the big boulder outside, there's a wall inside that needs to be broken. So I guess I need bomb-flowers. Bomb or bombchu should logically work, though I've never tried. I don't have bombs/bombchu yet, and I don't have bracelet/gauntlets for the flowers, either.
What items do you think I'll need in order to clear Dodongo's?

All the below stuff is all you need to beat the temple, assuming you're up-to-date on all the recently discovered tricks.
Slingshot (pesky bats)
Deku Shield (Bomb Bag Early)
7-8 Bombchus (Boulder at entrance, wall at beginning, wall to right of you after you blow up wall at beginning, make bomb flowers explode to make stairs fall, 4/3 Bombchus for Bomb Bag Early)
Deku stick (the boss, ground jump)
4 Bombs (boss, light eyes)
Note: You can also just light both eyes with a Bombchu for each eye if you don't want bombs and just want to get the dungeon over with super fast, but for this you need either Silver Gauntlets or the Bracelet to defeat the boss.
Also, you know there's a different way to get swordless link as a child in OoT right? (Assuming you're playing on the N64 1.0 version)
I'm not interested in doing things fast... just skipping many items. So if "Bomb Bag Not-Early" doesnt' itnroduce new stuff to the invetory, it's not a problem to do it. Your route uses both bomchu and bombs, and seems to be about skipping parts of the dungeon, not skipping items. I'm interested in crazy things like...if bombs can be ignored and bombchu used instead. (But King Dodongo requires something throwable, right? Darn )

I'm playing PAL, which I don't think is v1.0.
The reason you need bombs is to skip getting the bottle, beans, the egg (unless you still have bombchus), slingshot (possibly), and hookshot (possibly). I'm also pretty sure I missed a few things.
With glitches, Obsctale Course can be beaten in 0:00. The Marathon "run" is usually done with a few small glitches, nothing really huge that just bypasses the whole race or kills the timer.
For the Deku Stick without Slingshot, you could CC into Goron City and get the Deku Stick from the pot there. I believe you can also buy them (heh, buying weapons in the shop XD).
Haha.. that didn't even occur to me. ok ok so you could theoretically skip slingshot, but then you need bombs to do bomb hover since you need slingshot for bomchu hover, right?
The slightshot might be skippable, but you probably need to replace it with something else.... deku nuts for gohma, or din's fire for switches that are high above the ground... that sort of thing.
There are some switches in Jabu Jabu (e.g. first room). Won't have either boomerang or slingshot there - the bombchu are needed for it? Then I guess the first thing I have to do is get bombchus from the Spirit Temple. But that also has several switches (room with the big skull, and high-up switch in room that give you bombchu).
bombs - bracelet or gaunlets (dodongo), or bombchu (bowling alley minigame) bracelet - bottle or ocarina gauntlets - boomerang/slingshot, and bombchu/bombs (items for child-Spirit) bombchu - bombs (well), bombs/slingshot/boomerang (switch in Spirit) boomerang - slingshot/bombs/bombchu (switch in Jabu's first room) slingshot -
Are these correct, or are there tricks of doing things another way? There might be some other things involved that I haven't though of, so it could be more restrictive than this.
If they're correct... skipping the slingshot makes it: bombs: gauntlets or bombchu bombchu: bomb or boomerang boomerang: bomb or bombchu gaunlets: at least 1 of the above
This doesn't seem to be workable.
Skipping the gauntlets instead of slingshot makes it: bombs - bombchu bombchu - bombs/slingshot/boomerang boomerang - slingshot/bombs/bombchu slingshot -
Also, you can get Silver Gauntlets without Slingshot, bombs, Boomerang, or Bombchus. see here.
Would this work if I don't have a sword? I thought there was a circular rock in a wall (in Spirit) that needs to be bombed, that's why I put bombs/bombchu on the Spirit list.

Incidentally, since you're using CC, can you CC through the Door of Time?
Probably the first thing I've checked when learning about CC
