Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
I knew about that, but couldn't figure out how to get it to work every time. Nice find.
Don't think!  feeeeeal
Sounds like that web glitch as something to do with how the game renders that web, which could be affected by which areas you cross through.  I would try taking slightly different, presise routes, also looking in different directions or being carefull not to look at certain things.

Maybe Xenos could identify something else particular about what he does or doesn't do which other people might.
Speed is the key.
Good job fluff. Be sure to mention this to the TAS:ers. Wink

Weatherton already took care of doing that and got a negative reply.

I never posted it at TASvideos because it takes a few more frames to set up than a normal backwalk does.

ya coolness. Maybe this is one of the reasons for "forward backflips" though I still doubt it... I really want to find out how to do those since i've only done like 3 ever in OoT.

- Wow, using Ztap then down and Ztap for doing an instant quickturn is also a good technique.

I did some more stuff on the web glitch and yeah, it has something to do with the load zones you go through. It doesn't matter whether you land in the water or not but something to do with the path you take while doing the double jumpslash.

This picture gives a vague indictaion of where to go. I landed in the water at the area labelled "good" and the glitch worked so I figure the load zone for the web is somewhere around the area labelled "bad". If Fluffy landed on the platform with the switch and the glitch didn't work then the load zone is somewhere in mid air. Looking at anything doesn't affect the load zones. If you go to the web and find that the glitch is active, it is hard to shake off. You can fall and grab the edge of the hole and climb back up and it will still work. So avoid the invisible load zones and you will be right.

I'm pretty sure I didn't download the wrong version of the run as there is only one there and it had the date as 24 August. I am certain that over 50 seconds can be saved from that Deku run.

Well I tried levatating into that area and it didn't work. I assume you're talking about only loading half the room, that isn't possible by going down the web because that would be like trying to bypass the docks level in SM64 and therefore skipping straight to bowser fire in the red sea level. The only way to do it is to glitch through the the walls in the previous room and ricochet off the walls and into the room below the web which ain't happerning. You have to go round or over a loading zone for it not to load, you can't just go through it at a certain angle or go through quick enough so Link doesn't touch it. It'll take video evidence to persuade me that this works and it would only save ten seconds at the most anyway. Once a video is shown I can more or less work out how you did providing its of a decent length.

I had another go at the run Today and I was two mins ahead of my PB when entering Gerudo Valley,I got the cucco jump on my third shot and thought I was safe to go in the depressed area and then got caught and then my wavebird thumping off the ground explained the rest. I'm definitley getting more consistent on the earlier bits and not restarting as much as I used to. I'll nail one of these runs at some point. I can't remember exactly but I think I was roughly 1:20 into the run when I got caught.

The only part of the room that isn't loaded is the rim of the web. You can still see it but you can go through it. I don't know why I went into such length about it because it works every time I try it. I just do the double jumpslash onto the switch, use the skulltula to get to the other side and I can fall through the web. That's basically all there is to it. Although if you land in the water labelled "bad", the web loads properly and you can't fall through the web. My knowledge of programming is very limited so that's the best description I can give you because I don't have anything to record with.
Use Project64 and Fraps; we need to see it because so far no one has been able to reproduce it.

Cool one fluffy. Oh, and how do you lose your magic (on N64)? I did it today when I was in hyrule field doing super slides. I killed a poe w/ hookshot (don't know if this matters... probably not. I used hookshot since I wasted all 50 arrows shooting epona in the neck -_-) and then I did a super side, then groundjump and then later I did a backflip (uphill) and then the moment I landed I did a quickspin, but it had no energy. Immediately I thought it might be like when you do a charged one and quickspin after and you get the magicless quickspin, but I was wrong... it worked no matter what. I did like 3 more w/ backflips, then 3 w/outbackflips (just standing), then 2 charged ones but they used no magic (as in they didn't charge). I had double magic meter and it was nearly full... then after a little messing around, I got it back... after I picked up a bomb from some chopped grass... (I had 0 before)... it was strange. (I would like to find the proper diagnosis to see if any other things can come out of it).

Wow I just superslid off the map in hyrule field over south of kokiri exit, where the fence meets the wall. Ok, ya you can do that. Its like a deathwarp. You just fall into the void. you can also hyper boost through the gate and into the void in lon lon ranch pretty easily (proof that hyper boosts can work in places that other acute angle glitches can't or don't work, including superslides).

Oh, and Fierce, ... magic jumpslash: 1, and 2

Too bad it doesn't work I needed to levatate twice to get the distance, but on a sidenote I've been able to glitch through the vines and fall into the void as a child although I can't replicate so I'll just explain.

1.Climb the vine and wait above a skulltula
2. Make him go purple and go towards you at its fastest speed
3. Press A to let go of vine
4. Jumpslash and land on the skulltula
5. This is where Luck Manipulation is needed.
6. When the skulltulla hits you while it still moving towards you. You need to hope for a forward boost.
7. If your hit hard and fast enough Link will pass through the vines and fall a long way into the void, its a shame you can't jumpslash because you'd be able to cause the room below the web to only half load.

Someone needs to try and make a video of this.

I've been working on a mini project for a while to see if I can make Link fall into the void in every dungeon and area(except for pre-rendered areas),without the bomb hover.
So far.. I've managed

1. Kokiri
2. Tree
3. Hyrule
4. Hyrule Castle
5. Kakariko
6. Graveyard
7. Death Mountain
8. Sacred Meadow
9. Dondongo's
10. Zora's Domain
11. Zora's Fountain
12. Jabu
13. Gerudo Valley
14. Gerudo Fortress
15. Colosus (This one was weird)
16. Spirit
17. Temple of Time
18. Ganon's Castle grounds and castle itself
19. Shadow Temple
20. Fire Temple (although a little tricky)
21. Forest Temple
22. Water Temple
23. Ice Cavern (hard)

I think thats it
--

The ones that I haven't been able to fall in the void yet are

1. Mountain Crater
2. Bottom of the Well
3. Wasteland (although I've been able to do it with bomb hover, it seriously is a cool place to get to)
4. Goron City
5. Lost Woods (falling through the ladders should be possible. Haven't done it yet though)

I think thats them all.

EDIT: While I did that I did some further testing and I'm almost certain this "web skip" is false, although it wasn't much bother to test it becuase I was able to optimally do what Xenos was saying by the way of levatating and ricocheting.

I think OoT is getting back to top Grin
In long time no one haven't discovered good glitches, tought.
So now if we start that again it would be good and want to find glitches too in oot now. Anyone haven't discovered how to skip light arrow yet Huh?
I think that would be big time save now because we don't have much left in this game Smiley

Here's the glitch I was talking about earlier. You have to grab the vine and get damage boosted which is hard to do. It probally won't work in the Shadow Temple as the chances are that Link will go straight into the void. It should be doable with bomb/chus although the timing will be equally as hard. I did discover this without cheats by falling down the vine and grabbing it and then getting damage boosted. Someone needs to see if there is a genuine use for it. If not its still pretty cool. Have fun with this one.  :nana:

EDIT: I've tried damage boosting through the all vines in the Deku Tree and I always land in the void. Don't forget that the bombs and skulltullas can be of set so that you can go side ways through the vines instead of going directly through, there is bound to be some where where it'll be useful. I tried the ladders and no it doesn't work because Link doesn't partially glitch through when first grabs onto it.

EDIT_2: Had great fun with it in Jabu espeacailly in the room before Barinade, theres a room below that I managed to fall into and then I just entered the uber water and wait straight back up to the Barinade room.

ya the 1st one I tried about  ayear ago. That second one... that looks sweet. I'd try using 2 bombs. 1 for groundjump and the other set by vines or other stuff. then groundjump over the bomb. Maybe that would work in alot of places. we do have that spot to climb on in there, but it is to the side and we'll probably get into the void, but hopefully we won't and can skip to the boatroom early. Well, I'll try crap out once I get home but it will be hard w/out emu (no cheats).

OoooooooooooooooooooH! Did it w/ bombs on N64 no cheats.  Grin

took me like 19 bombs. Ok, I found 1 way that makes it easier. stand at the very edge of the 1st vinewall (the alternate one instead of taking the ladder). Now, drop a bomb over the side. Then walk against it so you climb down... now wait and time it so that you drop off the vines then hold forwards so that you grab the vines again. Then, the moment you grab the vines, the bomb will blow and force you through. The ladder isn't high enough to drop then grab again, so if you want to do it there (testing purposes only, I know you don't have bombs yet) then I'd try using the groundjump. As for shadow temple, I'm not sure how the height of that wall will work for us... it may be too high. Ill test when I get home from work.

Acryte I don't really get what you mean but do you think if this work in shadow temple? It maybe usefull if it work:)

man to do this in shadow is gonna be hard... you'll have to time the timer, drop it off the edge, then flimb, then letgo and fall (you fall faster than bombs do) until you catch up to the bomb and grab on and have it blow... I really wish I was on emu right now  Angry Savestates and slowdown would be so nice...

Ooh, bombchus might be easier... if you shield drop it it loops circles horizontally. So, sheild drop then climb up then drop... that may be easier.

I wonder if you can do it even w/ that solid wall behind it or if that even makes a difference.

WOW DOING IT W/ GROUNDJUMP IS EASY! (2 times in a row)

___________________

Ok, I can do the one using groundjump about 50% of the time to 75% of the time. I'm pretty sure that you can't get through the one in shadow, because I don't think you can go through stuff that is behind what you are climbing... so you can go through vinewalls, because the vine is the wall... but grates and ladders both have walls behind them that are separate, and to me it looks like they stop you... someone else can test this though to verify... I can't seem to do it. though it may just be that adult can't do it.....
He's back!
I can't seem to do it as Adult Link, I wonder if its somehow possible to do this is Jabu and rise up into the Barinade boss room. I've tried doing it in the Forest and it doesn't work on the vines and I'm levatating on the vines before the bombs explode. I still wonder if falling and grabbing would make the difference.

I agreed with acryte about that vinewall thing it's near of wall or not. I have tried that get trought of that climbing wall in shadow temle as a adult but it doesn't work. I think it's doesn't work as a adult like AKA said.
Someone should test it as a child?

BTW - (This is already said) that glitch base on that when link grab it go little bit inside of wall and this work too if you do jumpslash in some acute angles wher you normally cannot get trought with jumpslash, you only need use bombs but timing is hard :-/

Acryte - can you make do video how you do it with grounds jump and I need test it by myself too
