I don't think you can cancel a spell halfway through. It could be done with an ocarina but you can't get knocked while equiping it. You could use Acryte's hover boot bottle trick into the corner, assuming it works it would be so hard that only a segmented run could attempt it but then again if there is a trick to get down there I would probally spend 5 mins in a run pulling it off.
Although I didn't properly demonstrate, it is possible to to get knock by a chu just as your casting a spell but there is a finite number of frames in which it can be done.
Let's not rule out hyper boosts here either guys. Sometimes they are extrordinarily hard to get... like when I accidently did one in lonlon ranch... and was forced between the gate and the wall and into the void. That is something that isn't done easily, nor quickly... if I wanted to do it again id probably need alot of attempts... So, I think we should at least test for a hour or 2 a piece, some solid hyperboost attempts to get in there. We are talking segmented here...
Do you guys realize that you now have THREE topics where you talk about the same things!? I don't know why I find that annoying...but I had to say something.
Sorry...I just had to get that out...I'll leave now...
I don't understand what you're saying. One thread is discussing trick-searching, one thread is discussing TSA's run, which is minimal, and one is discussing a 100% run. Seperate things.

you could try to push into the wall with a jumpslash as far as you can and then have a bomb go off and kill you. then when link gets back up he is still inside the wall. If that can be done that is.

I've been trying stuff like that last night. No luck yet. Most i can get in a wall is my whole body but my feet. When I come back to life from it though I pop out of the wall. Someone else should try this.
Pretty obvisious really, the solution is to pull back the analougue stick to slow Links velocity in mid air so that the sword animation doesn't go right through the wall. It took me a while to notice that at first. That side hop gives me some ideas.
I can do the text skip, but I always fall in the water. It seems I am just going to have to do two backflips and hope I land on the platform.
It's like a 1/3 chance I'll backflip onto the Skulltula and get damaged boosted onto the block, skipping the text, and then getting up to the ledge with the door.
I've not made it past that part yet without failure on my 10 attempts today. After that part, though, it's smooth sailing.
Okay TSA, heres some tips or something. I know our pain because when I was trying to make segments for the Deku tree, that is where I always got schooled. Now, the problem is, you are backflipping too far. you need to be in the perfect location on the floor (learn the textures... preferrably w/ emu) so you can find that correct spot (or watch my vid which I can reupload if you'd like) and then after that you want to catch the very tip of your toes on the edge and have ti pop you off the ledge... which goves you just enough height to get on the platform if timed near perfectly. It is a extrordinarily high precision trick because you have to time the platform and also get into the correct position on the floor quickly. Godspeed on that one, I'd understand if it wasn't used in the segment though. Also... dont' forget you also have to backflip over the spikebar... that is a precision trick too and sucks when you get to the platform and then miss the backflip (the backflip being much much easier >_<). I'd practice both of those if you plan on using the platform message skip.
The block message skip is a very easy trick however and can be done 100% of the time once learned properly. Basically, you have the block to the left... and the skulltula to the right... now, the farther to the left you are, the farther backwards you will get before coming in contact with the skulltula. In a way it is like a diagonal line that goes from the skulltulas front end, and then back towards the wall... the farther left you are, the more forward movement you get before the boost... you need some of that to get back OVER the block... instead of being damaged and landing in front of the block. Secondly, don't worry about angles, just backflip perpendicularly. Only thing is... make sure you aren't too far left or you might not even get the boost... and if you do, you might have been in the air too long and are no longer high enough to make it on the block after the boost. Hope that helps. Oh, you don't push the block at all in the room w/ the wall torch do you?
1) So...I can land the backflip without falling into the water? Oh brother, this is going to take me a long time to get down.
2) The issue with the block is sometimes I do not get knocked onto the block, I won't get enough height.
3) I am not supposed to push the block? I thought we only push it 2 times now. Do we have a video of not pushing the block (the light the torch block).
Anyway, once I get the damage boost block part practiced well, it will just be that stupid water text skip.
Oh yeah, I don't need to backflip over the spikes..except for looking cool and not taking damage, it saves zero time.
The difference w/ not backflipping over the spikebar is that you may not have enough time after landing on the platform in order to do the rolljump damage trick.
Yeah, you don't have to push the block at all. You use the jumpslash method of flame storage in order to detach your hitbox on the torch. I'll upload a video of that and also of platform skip.
Hey, I got on top of the cobra statue w/ a simple bombchu blast. No ground jump needed. It's Very easy. Im gonna see if I can do it w/ an armos... probably not though. DONE!!!
Ok. You can get onto the statue w/ just an armos. Will make a vid.
Ok. Ive managed to get up there with a simple jumpslash. But that was hard.
Ok. uploading Final Version. It's faster than the groundjump method, is fairly easy, and doesn't require bombs.
