hey everyone, i was just wonderin, how do you get through hylia lake as child link to get the golden scale Huh?

Check this vid, there is also a little description :

In order to get to lake hylia as a child, just use the ladder at the entrance of lake hylia or go to gerudo valley and fall into the water.

Edit: Appaprently, we don't need hover to get from hand to hand :

Don't you need hover to get into adult spirit?
yeah, we need hover for SG skip
so, were off to make king dodongo swallowing the bombchus, arent we?
Speed is the key.

So, it looks like this?
Child:
- Completly Child-Spirit Skip
- Beat Dodongo with bombchus
- Get Bombag upgrade
Adult:
- Get Hoverboots
- Enter Spirit without SG
- Get Mirror Shield
- Get SG
etc...

We're gonna need to get 10 skulltulas aswell to get the adult wallet, then get the secret huge rupee in kakariko so we can buy 20 bombchus at hyrule market...

That screws up the route though
Zelda Scientist®
you can still grab the bombchus in child spirit andy. You just skip all that comes after that.  Wink
wouldnt that be a huge detour?

I had the bombchus in the well in mind. However, would those be enough? You need to blow up the dodongo entrance, the walls inside + to kill the boss (if we can make him swallow the damn bombchus), and then there's the mini boss skip in jabu jabu. Also there's the problem of the boulders to go to death mountain, and the entrance of goron city from lost woods. Now, if that's right, we need:

-1 bombchu to blow up hole in well to get more bombchus..which means we already need to have bombchus
-1 Bombchu to blow up entrance to dodongo
- 1 bombchu to open entrance to dodongo doungeon
-2 bombchus to lit eyes
-1 bombchu to open hole to boss
-3 bombchus or so (not sure about number needed) to kill dodongo
-1 bombchu to blow up boulder to death mountain (since it's possible to do with only 1, right?)
-1 bombchu for mini boss skip in jabu-jabu

So that's 11 bombchus needed. Unless i'm wrong with the list i gave we'd have the perfect amount...but we still have the problem of getting into the hole in the well to get the bombchus.

Speed is the key.
You would only need 2 bombchus for KD.
Yea, thanks for clearing that up for me, but there's still the problem of blowing up the hole to get the bombchus in the well  :-/
Zelda Rulez!
So if we get bombchus from well somehow without blowing that floor, then we are going to skip child spirit entirely and get silver gauntles as adult, before beating forest. Is this right?

What we benetif if we can kill KD with bombchus Huh?
I'll test it soon Smiley

My apologies if this post makes no sense at all.... just trying to help Smiley

I've seen 2 'issues' arise....
1) possibly having to wait for bridge to open
2) lack of rupees

super-obvious: collect rupees during the night (skelly-slaying)

or are these issues mutually exclusive?  Lips Sealed
Not sure if TSA's segment 8 would still stand given the recent changes, but if it does, you need another Bombchu there. However, if you do this instead;

Segment 8:
1. Start at Link's house
2. Lost Woods
3. Zora's River
4. Buy bean
5. Back walk to Hyrule castle (skips boulders and Owl dialogue)
6. Meet Zelda, Zelda's Lullaby.
7. Save and Quit.

You save the Bombchu and skip talking to Kapoera watsisface. Travel time between the two routes alone is very similar.
I like my avatar :)
I have one simple question:

Isn't it way faster to strafejump to Hyrule castle?

It's as easy as backwalking but as far as my experience goes, it's really faster than backwalking.

At least I think so.

(Dude, I SO have to register here sometime >_> )
Speed is the key.
You mean sidehops? Slower than backwalking. Wink

He's back!
My next trick on my wish list would be leaving Kokiri Forest early, I doubt it'll ever happen. The most likely way would probally be via the water in the Woods i.e. Lost Woods >> Zora's river. I've tried Goron City, but I quickly gave up after 5 mins of trying.

If It was pulled off then a large portion of the Deku Tree could be skipped by using the ground jump at the botton of the web, but there is probally more chance of storing the grond jump in the tree and then using it to get up to where the block is, than actually leaving Kokiri Early.

mad andy - your list counts out to 10 when you lower the KD by 1.

well even if it was faster to get rupees and then get wallet and then get bombchu from shop, there is the kakariko 1 and then there is also the abuse of that pot room in HCT. so no worries... that's where I always used to stock up.

yeah I was looking more into that yesterday as well... nothing though. Yautja's idea looked prime... till that kokiri blocks you  Angry

only problem w/ lost woods through the warp is finding a way to fall w/out anywhing but sword and possibly a shield... lame. Too bad you can't start out w/ chu. I'm thinking if you found another jumping method that lets you cross to the bridge as normal link that is another possibility.
Guten Tag! Sauerkraut und Schweinshaxe!
The 2nd part of the run looks amazing. oO
I just can't wait to see the finished run. *__*

Haha, V-King is teh boon. Cheesy

Deku Tree is exactly 4'52" in the TAS from gaining control to entering the blue portal. Keep this in mind when finding a way out of the forest.

You think you guys will have this figured out by the time I finish Segment 3?  After that, I can't go any further till we figure out this route.

Even if we were going to use my trick to get SG directly after MS, it would require hover.

How do you get the Silver Gauntlets to show up?  If I'm not mistaken, the chest falls from the sky when you walk out the door from Young Link's side.
Speed is the key.

Nope, it's always there.

Hmm.  Well, I guess its a question of whether simply completing child spirit is faster or shorter than running child spirit up until the bombchu, leaving, coming back post-shadow temple and getting the mirror shield and silver gauntlets together as an adult.    A few things to consider

1) how long is child spirit from the chus to the gauntlets?

2) how much extra time is burned doing the spirit block skip (possibly twice as opposed to once) using bombchus?

3) is it possible to reach the mirror shield without the bow, or is the bow *just* necessary for ganondorf?

4) how much time is feeding king dodongo chus (if even possible) going to cost?  Well early might have to come before dodongo, which would be a major time waste... or it might be that king dodongo forces you to get either the bracelet, gauntlet, or bombs.

5) how fast can you get across from hand to hand?

6) does the nabooru capture cutscene happen even if you get the gauntlets as an adult?  The owl conversation?

7) does the standard spirit route include re-entering the door from the mirror shield or simply entering the front door?  If re-entering where you left the hand, how much time is lost?  Alternately, can the trick be performed to re-cross (since the shield's chest is already dropped)

8_) is there some other way through the forest temple that doesn't require the gauntlets/bracelet, and how much time would be lost taking that?

Just on a ballpark estimation here, from chus to gauntlets takes about 4 minutes.    Assuming that the well's bombchus are only a minute out of the way (being generous here) we still are going to be cutting it very close with the gauntlet skip - 3 minutes to get up and over the block, plus across from hand to hand... and probably back again to avoid retracing our way through the main temple.  Additionally, we're saving even less time if getting the gauntlets as an adutl still trigger the Nabooru capture cutscene and/or Owl conversation.  I really hope that it does work out and save time, but I'm assuming that its going to end up being faster to get the gauntlets as a child.

unless dodongos turns out, probably, especially becaue the cutscene does play... you can't even try and sidehop away. They take out the entrance warp. Secondly, unless dodongos comes through it is not happening, thirdly, yes, we should see if it is possible to get back from the dropped chest.
