I'd be interested in seeing your notes.

I'm still working on segmented any%, and have been looking into just how to game the RNG. I have a much better understanding of it than I did back when I completed the 56:18, and to be perfectly honest, I could probably find a way for any run (single segment or segmented) to have a "perfect" start. By that I mean a desirable card set and good starting stats, and possibly a perfect Castle of Warren stage (good card pull from Zeltennia, and good Warren battle). I still have a couple things to look in to before I can say for certain that I can provide that info.

I also told Danshow that I'd toss him my any% notes, after I edited them a bit to account for a single segment run, but found out pretty quickly that there's some HUGE differences between the 2 runs (expected, but somehow it still shocked me...go figure) and that it would take me significantly longer to do that I had originally planned.
Here's my notes for Any% Ogre Battle.

I tried to clean them up and translate them as best I could.  The set I have for myself is kind of a jumbled mess that I can barely understand some of the time, so it was nice to have a reason to get them all organized.

If you do find a way to manipulate a perfect start, I would love to hear about it Dragondarch.  A good card set and a good pul from Zeltennia every time would make a pretty big difference in how I approach the first half of the game (up until the Ares fight or so).

Feel free to pass my notes along to Danshow as well, and let him know I'd love to hear if either of you(or anyone else) have any ideas on how to improve on this.
And I already realized there are a couple of things I forgot to mention in the notes because I never wrote them down.

1. Never deploy the Battle Unit before it is time to summon it, if it sits at base enemies move differently and could end up taking your base.  Rare, but it has happened to me in the past.

2. I do pull liberation tarots all the way the game, money is kind of tight and the extra cards are quite useful.  There are only a few stages in the middle of the game where a moon is actual bad, since on the longer stages at the end, it will be dawn by the time you get to the boss.  I did try to factor this in when I was selecting towns to liberate, so that the travel time after liberation would allow the night to finish, but not hit noon by the time you get to the boss.
