I just thought of something. Maybe, rather than to savewarp, it would be faster to go to Zora's river from the domain and proceed to the temple of time like that.
I've started a new OoT speed run. I plan to get sub 1:02, and if I do I will probably submit it to SDA (It's been long enough since the last world record, almost two years). Please support and criticize me when necessary people Segment 1 Segment 2 Segment 3
Sadly I used a free converting program, so there's a stupid watermark.
Looks good so far samoht, only thing that concerns me is that watermark on the video's. What's up with that?
I needed a program to convert .vob files (DVD files) to a file that I can edit to split the segments, then upload on youtube. Unfortunately the program I used was a free trial.
Samoht, if you plan on submitting this run, you should probably just go and pirate a program to convert those files to AVI or whatever or even use Megui since its free. If you want some help knowing what to use, or where to dl something etc. gimme an IM
Try not to cramp your rolls too much, you lose the most speed at the beginning of a roll so its best to extend the roll to the end before starting another or you will actually lose frames. Also try to get aligned for a backrun by rolling efficiently. There were some parts where I knew you were gonna backrun but still rolled 3-4 times instead of just once and pivoting into the run, but overall good stuff. I'll keep my eyes out to help you and offer any suggestions I can
Good luck. It's about time that old run of mine got the boot from the OoT page. I haven't been following OoT for a while, but I'll definitely watch any run that gets finished.
I'll do a run on my PJ64, too, just to challenge you and runnerguy. although I have a DVD recorder and a 60fps game, I won't play it on a console. main problem is the DVD recorder lag I still have and my controller, I'm used to. the run s also just for fun, but I'll do as good as I can. goal will be to sub 1 hour, no matter what. means, I'll still practice a lot. but from knowing my patience, I probably will never finish the run
the more challenge, the better will be the end result of runnerguy's run (we all know, that he'll kick our asses^^)
samoth, the run is pretty good so far, but by adding more backwalking, you could have saved a lot of time. rolling is a lot slower. sidehopping up to king zora would have been the best choice, too

Sub 1 hour isn't a reasonable aim right now. These new tricks save at most about 1 minute from groobo's 1:02:17 run so 1:01 probably isn't even possible without TAS.
Anyway I'm going to redo segment 3. I will improve the time greatly with a faster forest escaping, a better angle to LH, better scarecrow's song, and faster swimming to the fishing guy.
Now when I re-upload I definately don't want the stupid watermark. I've tried Anri-chan before, it's really compliceted and I couldn't figure it out. Acryte, you say Megui works? I'll try that.
Runnerguy was expected to get at least near sub 1 (+- 10-15 sec) before restarting his run. Sub 1 is definitely possible, you just have to be really damn good.
Yeah but he's not on V1.0, which means my segments 6, 7, 8, and 9 will have to be all one segment for him. It's instantly 20 seconds slower and it probably means 1 bomb drop and no superslides. Those saves a lot of time. I think 1:01:xx is a realistic goal for a non-V1.0 route.
Grunz, you have a good chance of beating me on a V1.0 ROM because you can break up the segments and avoid the last segment lag. Best of both.

What!? I thought the GCN version only had to combine 2 segments. Nevermind, I'm out on running it on GCN. Too many disadvantages, especially if I'm going for SDA submission. But I have a friend with OoT on n64 but im not sure what version it is. hopefully 1.0
I did some testing just now on how much time exactly the new forest escape saves. I compared estimated times for segments 3 and 4 up until market bridge of the new run against segments 3 and 4 up until market bridge of groobo's old test run. Here are the results:
Groobo's test run: Segment 3: 0:55 Segment 4 up until bridge: 9:28 TOTAL= 10:23
Estimated new run: Segment 3: 8:00 (if pulled off very well, 7 seconds faster than runnerguy's test) Segment 4 up until bridge: 1:17 (I've tested before) TOTAL= 9:17
So this new method saves over a minute apparently. Sub 1-hour might actually be possible I guess
And nice project Cosmo/Jiano I look forward to the actual game! youre gonna release a patch when its done right?

It seems to have taken Master Quest to a whole new level. I just hope they don't cram too many objects lagging up the game. You'll probably need to include info within the game explaining how certain glitches are done given that it's essential for beating the game. Given how flawed the OoT engine is they'll have a hard time protecting themselves against sequence breaks.
