Just going to open this up so anybody who wants to can test:

For low% MST, we are approaching a 28 item route for console, we just need a few things tested (highly recommended you have gamecube or pj64 to test):

1. Get deku sticks on B as adult. Now try to transfer a flame from anywhere in Ganon's Castle to any torch in the first room of the forest trial. Remember to use the flame storage glitch for extra time (works the same way as adult as with child, only with bow instead of slingshot). Don't forget to try those flames in the entry hall...I don't know if they can light a fire, but if they can then you can almost certainly do this in time. This most definately requires gamecube or pj64, as adult link can't pull out sticks on mupen/N64.

2. Get through the shadow trial with very little chus. You have no other useful items you can use (that means no Song of Time, Hookshot/Longshot, Hover Boots, or Bombs). You have the Megaton Hammer, Bow, Goron Tunic, Bottle (no RBA/BA) and Light Arrows, yet I doubt they will be very helpful. And of course, you have the Master Sword and Mirror Shield. Currently, the plan of attack I am thinking of is megaflip to the chest (confirmed to be possible), followed by a megaflip to the bubble with ISG off the chest. From there, megaflip off the bubble towards the like like platform. If you are too low, then stop yourself with a chu just after hitting the wall, and hover up to the platform. From the likelike platform, either megaflip/sidehop to the switch, or megaflip to the gold gauntlets platform first, than megasidehop to the switch. From there, either hover back to the gold gauntlets chest, or die in the void and repeat the first few steps. This is only one suggested line of attack, feel free to test other things. Also remember, since bombs and chus work the same for megaflips, you can test with bombs and Nayru's Love if it will make it easier, just don't superslide or ground jump. You can also use Song of Time or longshot to get to the chest easier for testing.

3. Not nearly as important as the other two, but if someone wants to test getting the Megaton Hammer as child with as little chus as possible, that would be useful too.
Catchin' them all
You can get a flame on a Deku Stick on B. The stick will be invisible though.
Yeah, I know you can get a flame, and I know you can flame storage it for a bit. I just need to make sure you can transfer the flame all the way to the forest trial without it running out. Flame Storage can only go so far.

The spirit trial is too far away and the torches in the entrance hall do not work.  Admittedly, I did not try it with supersliding, although I don't know how that would work with holding a stick. The torches in Ganon's Tower would be perfect, except they're separated by a loading zone.
I assume you used flame storage?

Hmm...would there be a way to break out of bounds to keep the flame storage going for longer? I don't know the specifics of how the glitch works.
You have to be within range of the actual fire. The way it works is by creating a disjointed hitbox or something. Essentially the game thinks the deku stick is in the fire, even if you're somewhere else. But if you move too far away from the fire, it will no longer work.

So you're not really "storing" the flame, instead you're just hitting the flame from much further away than normal.
Zelda Rulez!
You guys have very intresting dicussion there. I tought I can share this with you guys about flame storage. When I was hacking my own puzzle dungeon for oot, about month ago I run to this glitch with flame storage idk if it's already know.

So when you take flame from torch and you need to light other torch to make something happen. So that first torch keep fire on little time and then it will run out and that time is same that your normal deku stick fire time. So when you light torch and take flame storage with one go. Then wait for some time (almost when torch is almost end of fire time) take out your deku stick and game will start calculating that fire time again and that way you can make your way even further with flame. I don't think this will help you at all. But it's same thing what Weaf sayed above, you will light torch much further away than normal.

EDIT:
Oh and btw you can do flame storage without bow or slighshot very easily. Just stand near of torch and make navi appear with A button and when A says "Put Away" then bring deku stick out and smash A button to put it out right away. Same works with sword too Smiley

I assume that this segment of the 100% speedrun of BrianMp16 is new  Smiley

So, basically, if you use flame storage off a torch that eventually goes out, pulling out your deku stick resets the timer on the torch, right?
Zelda Scientist®
yep. I have a flamestorage document that contains all the info you'll ever need on it if need be.

Hey guys do you think this looks like a HESS?

Not quite.  Its a water ESS, which is faster than a normal ESS but slower than HESS.

That could be a HESS actually. water ESSes preserve the speed you were traveling when you were in the water. I checked and the speed of the SS after the attempted SS teleport is the same as a SS. So thats probably a different variation of water HESSing. Nice find

Or this way if you have the Goron Bracelet:

Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
shouldn't that route be in the MQ topic?

No one reads the MQ topic anymore :-\.

Are you saying that I might of accidentally found a new glitch when I was just playing around?

BTW I have no idea how to do the quote thing with the blue box.
Life is a glitch, then you die...
I SAY:
BrianMP16 MUST redo his speedrun and skip the boss key in FT, donesn't He??
1. Who are you to absolutely demand a segment be redone?
2. He needed to get the golden skulltula on the lower floor anyways, so the boss key skip might not even have worked.

Happens quite a lot with glitchers.

Has anyone ever beaten OoT backwards as in the first temple would be Spirit then beat the temples in opposite order then your suppose to then beat ganon?
doubt, that anybody ever did that

would be cool to see
Speedrunner
well i started one.
...?

It's actually fairly easy.
I've done it, except i did shadow first.
Speedrunner
I've done it to but I didn't beat Jabu Jabu but if you get bomb on B then you can do DoT skip as adult so I'm now gonna beat every level.
Just to note, this means you'll never be able to enter Temple of Time after you beat the second temple (as it will activate the Light Arrow CS). Just a note.
