Hey, I found a really interesting glitch from the recently discovered trick to move/use items while talking:

As you are in a dialog and you've played a song that game assumes that you've played Saria's Song and chosen dialog hence giving her dialog. Just a guess. Have you tried playing other songs like could give you a dialog? (Possibly Epona's song or alike...)
Okay so I finally got around to watching the Cs1987's run.

Comments:

~New Forest Escape is probably the way to go rupee routing would get a little weird though.
~Lon-Lon Bottle might be the better choice due to ease and time could be competitive with cucco bottle.
~When you Megaflip to the Bomb Bag, how many chu hovers does that gap take and would it be worth it to do it that way.
~Hopefully this time you have a better bomb count.
~I think you need to practice bomb staircase jumping because there are several places it would be useful.
~I wish you could just use hoverboots to steal the rod, for easy mode.
~Why did you collect the Deku Stick, atleast use it on Dead Hand.
~Pressure jumping or using a ground jump plus a bomb should get you over the Bridge when going to get the mushroom.
~I don't know if theres anything useful you could BA, I don't think you can Trial Skip with Hammer.
~You have Deku Nuts and Light Arrows when fighting the Stalfos feel free to use them.

As far as more advance routing goes. Sense I believe you should do the new forest escape you only really need to get 15 rupees, though I don't know where the closest place to buy a Deku Shield is other than the Koriki shop, if there is another close place (a Business Scrub somewhere) then maybe you could just get the rupees from the chains and get the shield else where.

Oh and please don't tell me the PAL version has that crappy 6/5 time crap thing so your run has a longer record time.
He's back!

Gcn OoT was the first game that was exclusively PAL60. PAL60 is ironically slightly faster than NTSC.

^ Slightly faster meaning approximately 0.1% faster than NTSC (Exactly 60 fps instead of 59.94 fps, I think, so it probably isn't worth compensating for the difference). If it was on PAL-50, 1:51 would be a ridiculously good time.  Tongue

To reply to the rest of Suddoman's points:

1. Agreed. I'll be working on the new forest exit.
2. I think the bottle thing has been tested enough, and I'm pretty sure the Kakariko bottle is always faster.
3. Although I believe there is a method to bombchu hover without the slingshot as Child Link, it would be harder, slower and less efficient than the megaflip. The megaflip isn't really that hard, I just forgot how to line it up at first.  Tongue
4. Yeah. I'm working on ways to be more efficient and less luck based with bombs.
5. I can only think of two places where the staircase hover could possibly be useful - the trials skip and the lost woods shortcut (and, as mentioned below, I won't use the lost woods shortcut. I might use the new trials skip, but I might need bombs from a beamos). What other places could there be?
7. Sadly, the only reason why I got the deku stick was to make start menu navigation faster and easier. I totally forgot I had it when I got to the Dead Hand.
8. The shortcut to the lost woods wastes a bomb and saves less time than you'd think. It really isn't worth it.
9. I doubt there is anything useful.
10. I will definitely work on my Lizalfos and Stalfos fights. I'll probably use Deku Nuts for both.
Merry Chrismas =)
just crouch stab against stalfos
it's easy like hell Undecided

shortcut to lost woods is easy and definately worth. do it, please. it requieres only one bomb hover or a pressure jump

lon-lon bottle is only slower, because we normally don't wake up talon. because you have to go to kakariko anyway, just get the coccu bottle
Some guy
As we've mentioned before, the shortcut saves barely any time without the hookshot. Before I consider minor timesavers like that I'll need to work out how many bomb drops I need and when to get them. I most definitely will not do it if it means needing an extra bomb drop - that would definitely be slower than my current method at least 80% of the time (ie. it would rely on luck for it to be faster, which is unacceptable in an SS when the time saving is so small).
I'm not your buddy, guay!
One thing I forgot to mention: After trading Cojiro, you walk back through Hyrule field. Are you sure that even without the hookshot that the Goron City shortcut is slower? That way would cost just one bomb.
I'm slightly considering getting the slingshot before I leave the forest, so the cucco dive will be easier, and I can bombchu hover when I need to.

The only thing is, I would have to get 40 ruppes and get the shield, instead of getting 15 rupees and getting the stick. I would also have to walk to the deku tree and back twice. It probably wouldn't be worth it, unless I'm likely to waste a lot of time trying to hover  or cucco dive without the slingshot.
Oh I thought the PAL was slower not faster.

@Cs1987:

Bomb staircase can be used multipul places and is only a minor timesaver. Some places include: Getting into the Fishing spot, Shadow Early... And the ones you mentioned.

The I highly suggest thinking about doing the lon-lon bottle cucco collecting could turn into a early run breaker. Someone needs to run times on the 2 against each other.

@IsomPhycho:

Are you talking about the 100% SS or the any% SS.

An early run breaker is much better than a late run breaker. Definitely stick with cuccoo collecting (assuming it is faster), even if it's more difficult.

Cucco dive is pretty simple and easy to do IMHO. I was sort of trying a low% (swordless) slowrun (just to test the route) where I used a dekustick to cucco dive into the well for early bombchus (all without practice). It's not worth getting the slingshot just for that in a SS any% run.
Merry Chrismas =)
Yeah, coccu dive = easiest trick ever
yeah, that's pretty insignaificant compared to bombchu hovering, which would actually be the main reason to get the slingshot early.

and I noticed that if you don't get the deku stick, once you have the first bottle it's impossible to select the ocarina or deku nuts (at least on a keyboard) so it is a good idea to get it if you need it, or to have the deku nuts and ocarina selected before getting the bottle, after showing the guard the letter.

@Suddoman: 100% SS is the one I'm doing.
...?

You really shouldn't get used to your keyboard lol... I know you said you dont have an n64 for the next few days or whatever, but i hope you dont fall behind with your practicing once you get a real controller in your hands because your used to using a keyboard.

Good question. Has anyone tested it? I sure haven't.  Tongue
I'm not your buddy, guay!
Just tested, on average I'd say a 1:50 left on the clock at the shop is what I'd get. So it would be 3 seconds faster than what you had during your run, but you could swim through the water or jump off that ledge in hyrule field during your run instead of going over to the bridge to head over to Kakariko. You have to pause and unpause to put on and take off the hover boots the Hyrule field way, so really, it seems that whichever one you would be more comfortable with, I'd do that way, since it's going to be +/- 5 seconds either way.
if it's even possible, how much harder is it to hover as a kid without the slingshot? and is it a different technique?

Sideflip hovering.

It's not really too difficult, imo. Maybe slightly harder than hovering with a slingshot but not too much.
Last night i had the wierdest dream that i feel i should share here.

In my dream, I found a sequence break in a spot of OoT that doesn't even exist (lol). i jumpslashed behind a statue thing and landed inside a hole that normally takes a song to make the stone move (or atleast that was what was going on in my head at the time)

lol, most dreams i dont remember but this one I did, which is another reason i posted it. If anyone finds a glitch that lets you jumpslash through objects and fall through grotto holes then say something haha >_>
Zelda Rulez!
That one is really weird dream you have seen. I remind me that I saw oot glitch dream once too. It have something to do with beta quest and shadow temple Grin

hey guys i need help!
im working on segment 11 and everything is fine until i get to the guards. ok its not that hard to get past them but they sometimes catch me in extremely unnormal positions (where i even cannot see them).
but my main problem is the suicide skip. in about 10 hours of playtime i reached zelda about 7 times and always messed up the suicide skip. i would appreciate if anyone has some advice on that! its so frustrating T_T
