So, wait, to do a single segment run I'm now going to have to go to the desert and shadow temple early just to get hover boots to exit the temple of time?

What is the Single Segment Route your using anyway?

General route is:

Sword/Shield -> Deku tree (get 10 deku nuts inside also) -> Ocarina -> Scarecrow song -> Cucco bottle -> DoT Skip -> somehow get to the other side... -> Shield/Hookshot -> get pocket egg -> Steal rod, bottle on b -> rba bombs -> rba pocket cucco -> wake up talon, turn in, get cojiro, rba -> bombs from graveyard -> buy arrows -> do quests for saw, rba -> infinite sword glitch cross gerudo bridge, turn in saw -> steal rod, bottle b ->  rba -> light arrow cutscene -> ganon trials skip -> ganondorf/ganon

Not sure how to get back to other side though, since I need hover boots, also going to need nayrus, and then I still am going to need bombs to mega flip or bombchus to bombchu hover across the beginning of shadow temple gap. = /

Eeeeyah!
craz3d, a SS route should look more like this:

Child Link:Ruppee Route, Escape Forest, Meet Zelda for Lulluby, Get Lon Lon Ranch Bottle, Enter Well Early, Drain Well Water and get Chus early, Go to GraveYard, Get Hylian Sheild, Enter Shadow Temple Early, Megaflip Hookshot Gap with Bombchu, Get Hover Boots, Death Warp out of Shadow Temple, Enter Temple of Time, Door of Time Skip

Adult Link: Get Past Door of Time from Master Sword side using Hover Boots, Go to Kakariko, Get Pocket Egg, Go to Lake Hylia, Chu Hover up to Fishing Pond, Steal Rod, Bottle on B, RBA Bombs, RBA Cucco, Trade Cucco for Cojiro, Cojiro RBA, Get Saw, RBA Songs, Get Magic, Warp to Temple of Time, Go to Gerudo Vally, Superslide acrross Bridge, RBA Medallions, Warp to Temple of Time, Light Arrows, Ganon's Castle, Trials Skip, Quickspin kill Ganondorf, Escape Tower, Superslide in to Ganon Cutscene to keep Master Sword during the whole Battle, Kill Ganon.

SS is extreamly hard to do now since since so many hard tricks are now involved on skipping Dungeons. You should get 2 Bomb drops from around the tree in Kakariko for supersliding. If the Shadow Early without explosives turns out to be a TAS only trick or too hard for a SS run then just go to DC and get Bomb Bag and then get Magic after that, Owl Warp back to Kakariko then continue on with the Route.

Winnar.
Yea, I know what you mean hehe. = p

Escape the forest itself is a very hard trick, so it might just be faster/easier to just beat the deku tree, but the slingshot will be needed as well, as pulling of a bombchu megaflip is very difficult, so it would most likely be better to bombchu hover over the hookshot gap and try to get the isg off navi.
Also, probably still better to just get scarecrow song imo.

Edit: And wait, is the bombchu early from well legal since it goes oob a bit?

Eeeeyah!
Doing the Deku Tree is easier to do than escaping the Forest of course but you'll lose about 9 minutes by doing it. Esacping the Forest is not a diffucult trick. You just need to practice at pulling it off and soon it'll become very easy to pull off.

Bombchu Megaflipping is not hard to do either, you just need to figure out the time for it. Also if IRC Navi doesn't yell at you in dungens, the only time she does is during a Navi text trigger, so you couldn't get the ISG off of Navi. Navi does yell out you when targeting enemys but there are no enemys anywhere near the start of the Shadow Temple.

Scarecrow song is much slower than Chu hovering up to the Fishing Pond. You won't make it back in time to Kakariko to do Early Well since there's a Golden Skulltula up the Ladder Balcony and if you don't have the slingshot you can't kill it, you could wait ouside of Kakariko but then you lost about 1-2 Minutes . Getting Scarecrows song after doing Shadow Temple is even slower you'll lose up to 3-4 minutes or even more if the drawbridge to Hyrule Castle is up since it may be nightfall when the Owl takes you back to Hyrule Field.
Winnar.
I'm not sure what skullata you are talking about, never have had one in my way.

And, I must be doing something wrong with non NL megaflips here then, because whenever I try one I get like a ground jump type thing almost; a  backflip that is just interrupted by the blocking.
Eeeeyah!
The Skulltula that I'm talking about in Kakariko is on the balcony ladder. The balcony is next to the blue house with a guy sitting on top of it, when you talk to him he gives you a heart piece.

As for the Megaflipping timing you should roll into the bomb right when it explodes, when you see Link starting to get up from the roll then you backflip. That usually works for me. Bombchu Megaflipping is very diffucult to pull off, but to get Link to roll into the explosion you need to wait for around the 6th or 7th breath Link makes while holding the Chu. When this happens shield drop it then quickly roll into the explosion and do a backflip.
MrGrunz is a guay
The slingshot nor bombs will be needed if we're using explosives to enter ShT.  When you activate ISG, go near the fence in front of the hut.  Face the hut and pull out a chu and shield drop it right before it starts flashing rapidly, then turn around and flip into the explosion then flip onto the hut.  Not go to the upper right corner of the roof and face the wall at a 10-20 degree angle.  Pull a chu and shioeld drop it after 3 flashes.  Now turn around and wait about 1.25 seconds then backflip and you will hover in the explosion.  If you did it late enough, you might be able to shield drop backflip for some easy hieght.  Now when you're up against the wall...This part needs good timing.  Use my method of timing using links breathing patterns for this.  When you pull out a chu wait exactly 7 breaths.  As soon as link exhales as his 7th breath, shield backflip.  A tiny bit too early and you won't gain much hieght.  Any later and it blows up on you.

Now that should cost 4-5 chus, then 1-2 chus for the gap flip.  A death warp would probably be best after getting the boots (backflip + shield drop chu run into the explosion) so you don't have to do the gap flip again.

And progress on Bunny hood BA?
Winnar.
Well, I'm practicing trying to get bombchus from well early right now but it seems incredibly difficult to pull off, havent gotten it once yet. =/

It seems pretty hard for SS, but once you practice it a bit, it's not THAT bad.

Just remember to make sure you are holding down on the joystick while you hit A to let go, then in mid-air hold up on the joystick to grab.  Otherwise you won't grab the vines again fast enough for the skulltula to hit you.  (I've never tried it with Deku Nuts, but the sword slash method works fine.)

I'm sure that once you get through a few times, it will become more evident what angle you should start at and how to time it.  After that, it's just practice.  You'll get it.  Honestly whenever I decide to get chus from the well, I usually have to do the skulltula clip more than once.  I end up dying from fall damage and green slime while trying to get to the chu chest, haha.

I was actually considering trying out the segmented route myself.  I know this community is pretty competitive, but I've got some free time, so why not try my hand at it?  If I start making some good time, I'll post some segments.  I'll need to practice quite a bit first, though.

About version differences:  is v1.0 the best for the current segmented route?  It looks like it allows me to save with different items on B, while other versions don't.  If 1.0 is best, I might try to hunt down a 1.0 cart.  I'd like to have one anyway (somehow I have a 1.1 gold cart, which I did not realize existed).

I believe 1.0 is, in theory, 20 seconds faster (actually probably a bit more thanks to more segments = better quality play)

I'll record another run this weekend if nothing new is discovered, just for the sake of keeping shit in one place.

If you do will you be doing another TAS one? If not keep us posted on difficulty of the segments etc to help future runners know wut to expect

And ya wut is the status of the bunny hood BA thing, so far I have gone through most of the child portion and the number hasn't changed from 0?
Zelda Rulez!
Nothing new from me about that Bunny Hood thing. I haven't tried much either.

Cosmo - I downloaded your cheat list for Tsearch. You have one great work with those codes, but what version of oot you are using? Because those codes doesn't change anything on me. When hacked oot in back days I remember that those addresses are different in all versions. they are close each other. It's just like gameshark codes, there are version differences. I' sure you know what I mean.

Version of rom what I'm using is (U) v1.2

The version is V 1.0. You might have it already, but if not  visit

EDIT: I forgot there is no passing out of Roms allowed in these forums, PM me or when I get a chance I will post a way to turn these v1.0 addresses into v1.2 addresses
I thought you weren't allowed to give out ROMs on this site.

i'm using Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.2) [!].z64

on Project64.
Does anybody have a video of the forest escape using fewer Deku Nuts?  The one that uses the acute angle off the wooden post.

Also groobo, did you remove your TAS test run from youtube?  Are you putting up a new one?  I tried to go back and look at a few things, but I can't seem to find it.

Last thing:  Is supersliding off a Stalchild as hard as it seems?  I haven't even come close yet.  Sad

No.  A while ago when I was practicing segment 5 for my MQ run, because the peahat was asleep I had to use stalchildren.  I thought it would be hell but I got 9/10 attempts perfect.  Just make sure the stalkid is a bit behind the piece of grass you're going to slide off of and roll into it as soon as it raises its hand and you should get it.  You might have trouble with alignment though.

Thanks, that helped.  I just got one.  (EDIT:  Followed by about 10.)

Also supersliding just got a lot easier a few minutes ago when I made the connection between supersliding and ground jumping.  Wow I am stupid.  It's a wonder I had ever gotten any superslides at all, haha.

Lol I was using your chart with v 1.0 and the number never changed

Edit: But I got it now, in order to change the values on your chart into values for v1.0, you have to subtract 6B0 from the address
I'm not your buddy, guay!
The 3 or 4 nuts to escape the forest video is no longer available. I asked if kirby still had it on his computer and if he could upload it again but no luck.

I tried for a few hours with different angles and using no more than 5 nuts and couldn't get it. I may mess with it some more after I finish my run.
Zelda Rulez!
Forest escape can be done only with 2 nuts. AKA did video of it and showed it to me but he haven't uploaded it to youtube, idk why? But he sayed maybe it could be TAS only. You can ask AKA about that if he can post video here.
