better to do a search in archive.org. there's plenty of runs there and you can fins natural route runs there.

I've got another thing for you to investigate acryte.

I was doing some stuff with the bomb bag on bombchus and something weird happened. I Had exactly 8 bombs before I opened the chest. I later realized I had 9 bombs :o! I didn't notice this until I accidently killed myself right after I got the bag in the main room and left DC but is was as soon as I left that I noticed it. Do you know why?

Another thing is that after I got the bag on chus, there was this small flashing black line going diagonal across the screen when I paused. I later went to lake hylia and noticed it wasn't there.

There was 1 more thing I wated to ask you concerning BA but I can't remember right now :-/.

That black line seems to appear whenever you have items in odd places in your inventory. I hacked some of the trading quest items into my inventory, and that line started showing up. I thought it was just a bug in Mupen, but apparently not.

Ya thats what I was thinking but wasn't 100% sure. I'm still wondering why it dissapeared though.

I just confirmed that getting the bomb bag increases your bomb count be one. I see no mention of it on any vids so I'm guessing nobody ever noticed it.

Assuming you're referring to Manocheese's run...

When the game checks to see if it should give you the Light Arrows, it only checks to see if you have the Spirit and Shadow medallions, as it assumes that you need the Nocturne of Shadow to get to the Shadow Temple. Since the Nocturne requires Fire, Forest, Water, and Light, it effectively made all six medallions required.

However, it turns out that, through various tricks, you can get to the Shadow Temple without the Nocturne, thus making Forest, Fire, and Water no longer required for Light Arrows. And since having Light Arrows triggers the "bridge of sages" scene, you never need to collect Forest, Fire, or Water.

That being said, you still need the bow to use Light arrows. Thus, you have to make a stop at Forest to pick up the bow, but you don't have to beat the dungeon.

Hope that was clear enough. Also the above assumes that you're not using BA, as BA gets you around pretty much every requirement the game throws at you.

I just want to say that I find it amusing that the game's "If A then B" checks for advancement are actually less robust than those of Rygar for NES, a game that's about 10 years older than OoT. According to Walker Boh, who did the TAS for it, Rygar actually does check to make sure you have ALL of the required items before allowing you into the final area (Even though the game follows a similar structure where it's theoretically impossible to collect some of them without first having others), as opposed to just presuming you have them like OoT does.

Thats not quite true since if you have the Forest medalion you can't necesserily get the prelude, the game checks to see if have activated the relavent cutscene not if the light arrows, or forest medalion are in the inventory/quest status.

you need to pay to get a VC copy of OoT. a copied file won't work on a different wii.

also, the VC OoT is the same as the GC version. i tested most of the glitches and they worked about the same.

I just tried BA with zora mask on C right with only master sword, no shields no kokiri sword and of all things, I got bombs on B. I had a fish on C right and B as adult and zora mask on C right as child. Did I do it right?

On another note, Winter break just started :D. Damn good timing too 'cause theres a lot of stuff I want to test now Smiley

25. But with zora mask on right as child, wouldn't that negate the deku nuts numbers?

EDIT: 0_o This time I kept the hylian shield and got pocket cucco(I think) to B. I kept deku shield and got light arrow. I think kokiri sword has some important role in this, otherwise I would be getting equipment to B, not items.

EDIT: It wasn't the kokiri sword. Kokiri sword, master sword, deku shield gets you NL on B. Its the Mirror shield! Thats what gets you equipment on B! Mirror+Master sword = Goron tunic B. Whats more amazing is it does freeze GC version.

Firstly, Nintendo have enabled a new Virtual Console game sending service. Secondly, I did specify that it was so that I could put a 100% save on my Wii for OoT, I can't be bothered to do it for my GC version.

Yes you can sent OoT to someone if they register you and you register them and they buy it and give it to you. You still start from the begining of the game and have to get 100% yourself. Just use your GC version to get 100% so you don't bother other people to get it for you. Just use yauty's old 100% as a guide.

If anyone didn't notice, I edited my above post ^. Please tell me if its old.

I don't understand BA at all, but I will post what I did. It might be new.

OK, I used the any version swordless thing, jump in the water and got out, got deku sticks on B. I broke all of the deku sticks and got a fish on B. When I paused (this was later, at hyrule castle) there was a fish where bombs would be and deku sticks were still there! Then I tried doing the exact same thing as the "Light Arrow B" video by Acryte does, same items on all C buttons and same amount of deku nuts. It didn't work! I noticed he had some items, like bombchus, that I didn't. Maybe this makes a difference?

Another thing, I heard that the last hit on Bongo Bongo requires a sword. Is this true?

Did you have bombs on C-right when you caught the fish in your Bottle on B? Because that would do it.

LOL I did the same damn thing awhile ago and got bombs! It makes sense I guess, Kokiri sword = 01, master sword = 02. if you have nothing else, 02 = bombs.

if you just have master sword it makes sense you'd get bombs... I didn't realize it, I thought I messed up. I guess I did it right.

Heard of Wiisave? I can download a 100% save for the VC version but not for the gamecube

A little of topic, but I got into Dampe's grave as child :D. Just get to the grass ledge where you would do shadow early and go to where the left side graves are. Try to line yourself up perpendicular to where his grave would be in the future, then turn right and sidehop into the void. Use a well timed bombchu shield drop while sidehopping to stop yourself. Do it 4 times to the right, then start going left. If you lined it up right, you will eventualy hit the loading point for his grave. I had this theory for months but never tried it out until now (Hooray for winter break :)). This also boosts my Max% child file to 16 hearts Cheesy
