My suggestion is have someone make a savestate on mupen, figure out the goron's movement patterns, and post a video for you. That someone is not me, since I don't even have a rom of oot, nor mupen. If you happen to have a file on mupen, you could always do that yourself as well (I just think its easier than continually loading on console).
His pattern isn't important, it's where he is when I've gotten past the rocks and up to his level, but I've already got that figured out so don't worry about it.
What you should worry about though, is the Epona Skip. I went to lon lon ranch to test it out, and as I feared it seems nigh impossible to do. I even find it hard to activate the sword glitch off a bomb, as it usually takes me 5+ bombs to do just that.
Then it's that bomb hover, I've spent hundreds of bombs attempting this, but I just can't get it to work. First of all, the placement of the bomb is extremely important, and it is where I usually mess up. If I put the bombs half an inch wrong, I wont get it.
Even if I DO get the bomb placement right, which has happened one time, out of hundreds, I screw up on the high precison, timed backflips you need to make.
It just seems way to hard to attempt in anything other than a TAS, so if I can't find an easier way to skip the riding course, I don't know what will happen.
I fucking hate these goddamn bomb hovers. I actually wish they were never discovered.
Agreed!! At least in MM you can do this with bombchus which you cant do on OoT. I always found this to be strange. Also, bombs have shorter fuses in MM, don't they which make hovering easier, kind of?
Hmm, it's been a long time since I last played OoT; I forgot that

Backflipping through the cave? That, if anything, would be a huge timewaster.
Eek, sorry, I meant "Backwalking", not "Backflipping", but then I've just realized backwalking is really not going to save several seconds in the cave because of all the ice
Well, sorry for my mistakes; keep up the great work
I have the same trouble w/bomb hovers. In MM they're so easy, but OoT, that's another story. Maybe fluffy could help you with this, since it seems like he's pretty much mastered them.
The hover glitch is so easy in MM because the shield blocks bomb explosions in MM, but not in OoT. Since hovering (usually) requires a hit to be blocked on the shield, MM has a much easier time of it (although hovering against walls is not particularly easy with chus, either). Without the shield blocking bomb blasts in OoT, it's surprising the glitch even works at all.
Also, yautja, excellent work with the ice cavern. Too bad that's all we'll see of the adult run until it's finished...
I've done the bomb hover as an adult w/ bombchus. I used the bow like the slingshot is used as a kid. Granted, it might be useless because I don't think I was gaining height as i did it. Unless of course you mean you can't do it from the ground. Then I'd agree.
If I can get that to work, then I should probably get bombchus from the house of skulltula at the end of this segment:

Segment 32:
Go to the bottom of Zora's Fountain with Iron Boots(Heart Piece) Thaw King Zora(Zora Tunic) Warp to the Lost Woods via the warp in Zora's River Trade Cojiro away(Mushroom) Warp to Goron City via Lost Woods Bomb "Link"(Goron Tunic, gs35) Backwalk down the mountain to Kakariko Trade mushroom(Odd Potion) Savewarp
The question is, should I get it before or after delivering the mushroom?
Edit: Just a question, can I do that method of bomb hovering without being on a ledge, in other words on plain ground?
Edit: Nope, it doesn't seem like I'll be able to do the bomb hover with hover boots either, since it doesn't seem to work on plain ground.
The best way people could help me with this run now is to find a way to do the horse race skip without bomb hover.
Edit: AWESOMENESS. I just did 4 bomb hovers over the course of 15 minutes, and that's with the time it takes to go back into the ranch included.
So, just out of curiosity, what happens if you hover over the fence as a child?
Assuming you mean the Lon Lon Ranch fence, I tried this out awhile ago on the offchance that it would trigger the adult sequence as a child, doing crazy things in the process. Unfortunatley, all that happens in Link enters the field in mid air then falls.
If you have 50 gs tokens, you could even get the PoH. I would have to count though.
Well, how much time do you have left on the Mushroom's timer? That's one concern. A bigger concern is how much time is lost getting back from delivering the Mushroom. Exiting DM, you are really close to the way to give the Mushroom; my gut says that it's faster to deliver first. However, that way coming back from delivering the Mushroom is awkward and wishes to be a savewarp. You might have to time that. I think delivering first would be faster, but Skulltulla'ing first might surprise.
