Real Time is unusable on PC since it runs much faster for some people. I guess console runs are the only legit option.

Just got a 44:10 in-game with 5 deaths
- I got 2 hearts, Amazon and Transylvania
- 2 deaths on the last level, both into pits by my own recklessness
- Bad RNG with the Himalayas boss jumping straight up in the air
- Bad timing with the Amazon boss cost me A LOT of time
- A bit of bad timing on the Vault and boss there as well, but cost minimal time

Dracula Duck's Bat Attack can be manipulated by starting on one side of the arena and running towards the center while it's changing

Going all the way down on the Himalayas after the rabbit cutscene and then going back up for the next part, I can say confidently is the fastest way to go. When you go past the 5th icicle, you can just go past it without fear, too.

I'd also say going off Hard Pogo is the way to go because it does free up your hand a bit, allowing for better movement

General Cutscene skipping
- Amazon Coin Collecting: A beat after you touch the floor you can skip
- Bank Vault/General: The black bar has to be coming down from the top in order for you to skip

I'm sorta wondering if taking damage for the bat attack can speed up the pattern any.

Also, for the part where you have to pogo off the boulder to get on that high chain in the level, you can get it in 1 cycle if you hard pogo a couple of times. I was happy when I got that.

Well, I know of saving a cycle of the lasers in saving the last nephew in the Money Bin by taking a damage boost.

But that doesn't mean anything if I can find a constant method to avoid those damn flowers in the Amazon and Mines. >_<

I just attack the ones in the Mines with rocks where I can. For the track back to the underground on the Amazon I get between the two, hard pogo twice and jump off the bee so I can avoid them.

And yeah, I damage boost in the Money Bin for the lasers. Very easy trick. I also drop off some chains and pogo up. It's slightly faster, I think.

So Hard Pogo is faster? I never actually tried it because the precision needed sounds pretty tight.

Hard Pogo is faster because you stop your height increase and immediately go into a decent.

I just short hop, it works just as well for my tastes. I'm not as refined at that Hard Pogo yet.
Going through Extreme now, and I don't see how this is in any way faster then any other difficulty. Even with death warps, it's a pain. <___>

Yeah so I stuck with easy. Got a 55:27 on Extreme, but just now got a RTA of 45:43, game time 41:28! Finally reached sub 46 RTA!
And I got a legit split of it! Cheesy

How is your game time so much shorter than your real time? my ingame time is always much longer than the actual time, I still wonder why. PC version why are you such a bad port.

Got me. It seems to differ between PCs and their processing speeds too. This is why I think in timing the game, you need RTA. And PC and console should be different, for load times and such.

My game time is pretty consistently about a minute and half faster on the PC version compared to real time, which I feel is realistic with some of the times on the PC leaderboard right now.

Right after the transition ends, starting on the screen that says it's saving, to the fade after the loading screen takes just about 5 seconds on my PC.

Yeah. That would make RTAs on the PC faster. My Wii U's loading is twice as fast, and that's generous. I still prefer my clean inputs though. :3

Just in case anyone was really that curious, I grinded out the very last section of the game to find the fastest possible route:

I also found a damage boost off the first falling rock, but having to get the setup right just ends up wasting time compared to just climbing the chain. Shame because it looks cool.

Nice. I knew of the first two, but the second one I only skipped one chain, and the last one I went to the left and skipped a chain going back to the right.
That will save good time if I can get to that point in my serious runs. I get screwed in the Himalayas a lot. :|

I knew about the last two tricks on the final climb, but not the first. Seems really difficult to do.

I still have trouble on the Bank Vault and the boss there. I always end up at like half a heart before the boss for some reason.

I plan on doing some runs tomorrow. Hopefully I can get under 43 minutes in-game if I don't have any stupid deaths (I had 3 last time).

I had 2 runs end at the Vault for dumb reasons. One because I swung the object before the safe lowered and it missed, and secondly, Gyro bonus game. :|
But since I did get sub 46, even with some meh RNG, I'll offer this up to run at AGDQ when the thread is posted in an hour. :3
