Appreciate it, I fixed it now.

Hey everybody I've talked to in twitch chat and to everybody else running this game.  It's really fun to watch all the progress that has been made already.  Keep it up!
For Fun! For GLORY!!
No prob J. Once I get the equipment to stream I'll be showing off too. Tongue

Right on.  I look forward to watching. Smiley

ALMOST!!! Soo close to sub 41! I had a terrible Magica fight, but I had one of the best plane lucks ever! New RTA - 41:03, game time - 37:42. Retook the top of the Wii U leaderboard! Cheesy

For those that have been waiting for it, the Boulder Skip tutorial:
http://www.twitch.tv/georgetheplushie/c/2794373

And here's my PB I got earlier, 37:02 real time & 35:22 game time. Currently #2 on the Steam leaderboards, 16 seconds behind CapnDrake.

Still looks hella hard. But cheers much for the tips George. :3
Yeah, those reference points will help out a ton.  Although for the fourth block I might suggest the wood underneath the scaffolding since it appears to be a straight line and it's right under the crate.

Now all we need to do is find a skip for the first part of the Amazon Tongue

Thanks so much for that tutorial video. It's going to help immensely.

Noticed you start your RTA when you select your difficulty. That's what I was doing before but I changed it to as soon as I get control of Scrooge in the Money Bin. What's going to be our standard?

Here's my newest run. 36:59, just barely sub-37.

Bad plane luck, pretty good Vesuvius. There's definitely still room for improvement not to mention the fact that this was without the Mines Skip.

Still no idea what the deal is with Game Time vs RTA. The game time for that run came out to 39:01, which seems off. Guess PC Leaderboards are still busted.

Going to spend quite a bit of time tomorrow dedicated to that Mine Skip and see just how low I can go. I'll probably stream for a bit tomorrow as well.
The timer should start when you select a difficulty level on a fresh save or when you select 'yes' to overwrite a previous save.  That's when the cutscene starts and when you can initially skip it.
Is there an agreed upon stopping time for RTA? I've been noticing a lot of people stopping once they reach the top of the lava race but if we're counting the initial cinematic skip at the beginning of the game, wouldn't it be fair to count the ending time to when you skip the very last cinematic? After that point, the only input you have is skipping the credits and it makes more sense to me to end the game after that last cinematic skip since those count into the RTA throughout the whole game.
For Fun! For GLORY!!
Yeah we need to agree on this. I think it's from as soon as Scrooge appears in the Money Bin to when he lands on the last platform in Vesuvius. That's how I've always done it.

I'm comfortable with either Difficulty Selection to Final Platform or Scrooge Control to Final Platform.

My reasoning is that after you lose control of Scrooge on the final platform, you never regain control of him, so skipping the final cinematic isn't technically part of the game, it's part of the ending cinematics (Only some of them are unskippable).

Thoughts?

^This I am solid on. Because why should a cutscene be part of RTA? This is my reasoning behind wanting control to be the start rather then difficulty select.
I like difficulty select to final platform. Difficulty select is an easy and consistent method for starting a timer. And I don't see any reason to include the ending cutscenes in the run.

Well, I set my WSplit to a delay from when I hit the Skip Cutscene for the intro, that it starts up as soon as Scrooge appears.
Just got a 34:16, still with kind of bad luck but I did get the mines skip kind of fast: http://www.twitch.tv/capndrake/c/2797687

Gratz Drake. After about a half hour of trying. I finally pulled this damned trick off. I will need to seeeeeeriously practice this more.

Any idea what this is in real time?

I've noticed that when I finish runs, my times are increased by several minutes (37 minutes somehow becomes 39 minutes), however, George had a time that was around 37 minutes that somehow translated into 35 minutes game time.

We've figured out pretty quickly that game time for PC is shoddy. Yet game time for at least my Wii U is consistant. But nonetheless, I still go for RTA.

Also, finished watching Drake's vid, and weird to me. I have never seen Magica in vulture form go up to the ceiling. She always goes halfway up for me. :\

I have never not seen Vulture Magica go all the way up to the ceiling.

Maybe it's console to PC difference.
I think that the game time in the PC version is actually the accurate one, the game runs faster or slower for some people which screws up the real time, but the in-game time runs faster/slower accordingly.
The in-game timer only counts time when you're in a level.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Your 34:16 game time run is ~36:49 RTA. My 36:59 RTA came out to 39:01 game time.

If you put the videos side by side, I don't think mine is running any faster than yours, though it's a bit smoother/higher FPS.

I pull ahead in the vault, but then our routes differ (This was before I was doing the Mines Skip). But if you line up our Moons they look very close. I do think I'm putting out more FPS which is causing the Game Time discrepancy.

I'm going to see if I can mess around with some settings and fix this issue. :/
