1:02:54-1:03:40 segment shows OoB for potential frog skip. Like original MGS, it involves the vents. Just needs to be a way to stand up inside the vent.

I also looked at the vista mansion since Laughing Octopus could potentially be skipped if you got past the wall. I tried blowing myself over onto the box and then from the roof past the wall but looks like there is a very big invisible barrier. You can see it at 2:02:48.

Yes... I do go insane when I think something looks to be working. Pay no attention to the commentary. It is beyond creepy.

Thats very nice. I didnt watch all the video yet, here's a quite good attempt of an SS run. (lots of mistakes and fails, but it seems to be really doable. I have to work on Act 4)

I found a new way to use the old "grenade boost" glitch. It requires you to stop the tank (explosive weapon) so you can land on it.

This does at least give hope that a very well positioned grenade boost will allow you to land on something you should not normally be on and once inside, you can simply walk OoB.

Hello,

I don't know how active this thread is but I've recently started with learning to run mgs4.
I aim to get good enough to try NG BBE SS runs but for now while I'm still focusing on act 1 and 2 practice I only have saves for the beginning of an area. I've read in this thread that people actually don't like the idea of skipping cutscenes/codecs with saving at the end of an area but due to the times I see I think they are a must for getting atleast close to the current times.

Is there more then just videos to learn methods/tricks?
Are there actually streamers who actively run it?

I Also found an EXTREMELY weird glitch while playing with Greg (TheThrillnesss) all day yesterday along with all these other glitches. I think I found the first ever MGS4 softlock. It was the weirdest thing ever and I could just NOT recreate it. Me and Greg were testing at Act 4 shadow moses nuke building where you first enter. I was trying to recreate the MGS1 camera glitch with nikita at elevator. Instead though I threw grenades and entered panel mode in the elevator RIGHT when the nade blew up. My first attempt I did it, all of a sudden when the smoke cleared, Snake was NOWHERE to be found and I couldn't do ANYTHING. He was invisible and there was only 2 blackened footprints left. It was the strangest thing I've EVER seen in MGS4. Worst part was... I wasn't recording. It was extremely frustrating as me and Greg tried for hours to get it again, but couldn't. No clue what happened, this is the weapon glitch of MGS4. The first time I got it Snake must have been out of bounds or invisible like I said. All I could do was rotate the camera around the entire room and press select to enter controls menu. NO other button worked. I mashed every other single button on the PS3 controller but nope. It was really fucking weird.

It's concerned with the first area that can really break this game (before Advent Palace):

I'll write out a brief summary below. I hastily put this video together and mumbled on.

If you can get past that barrier you will hopefully be able to load the cutscene that plays after you have completed the whole advent palace section. I then show the new glitch I found (Magnum66 found the consistent setup for it).

Unfortunately as I show the wall is solid even after glitching in but if it was not, we could have easily have walked out of bounds and to the cutscene (since the building we would be walking into extends to this area). We'd simply walk out of bounds through the building and pop back in bounds once we passed the barrier.

Another new MGS4 OoB glitch I found!

Description: Yay! So happy I found this! (Discovered by me)

This is an extremely weird glitch. I've gotten myself landed halfway through walls out of bounds. I've been inside both sets of boxes, inside the rubble walking around out of bounds, under the ground, and under the level. This is an insane glitch. Like I mention it should be possible to find our way through the rubble after going out of bounds and skip past Advent Palace but this will be REALLY hard until we find the route to go. Let's just pray the ground is actually loaded in most places.

I did it guys! I found a sequence break in MGS4 and we can skip the rubble now in act 1!!!! ^______^ Also as I explain in the video I am about to post and as you can clearly see, it looks like we can completely skip the advent palace and frog fight as well in a speedrun! Over 5-10 minutes saved! Will do more testing soon! Cheesy
