I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
I dunno.... not having any AOE spell until act 2... that'd be major hurting. I'd like to see someone make it work, but the main leveling in act 1 and 2 is really giant mobs, which both firebolt and ball are subpar at taking down.

Hah, Coriolanus, you beat me to it. I was just about to post a Fire Sorc build. All this talk makes me want to start trying to speedrun this game XD. But I'd want to run it with my beloved Freezealot, which doesn't work very well until the mid 40s =P

Maybe you could luck out and get yourself a +1 to fire skills staff =P

What about a cold sorc?
You could use the Shiver and Frozen armor spells. You get the freeze/slow from using cold,

1-5 would go into Ice bolt so its then level 4, toss the point from the den into Frozen armor, 30% defense bonus and freezes attackers, then get your +1 to static/+1 to teleport staffs, and pump the remaning 18 points into Ice Blast, so that you freeze for 6.4 seconds and hit for 278-295 a shot,
And one into Shiver Armor, providing you do Raddy for the +1 skill.

dragon warrior: the beauty of these builds is that static field can pretty much do 90-99% of the damage against the big boys, and you have a lot of freedom with the rest of your skills. Frost nova is always a good one to slow down the encircling monsters for a quick getaway with teleport. And like you said you will eevntually get lucky with an item drop which could shave minutes just by itself!

Well, I wouldn't say Static them to 90-99% that's a little extreme, it'd be faster to take them down to 75% and then go all out with spells IMO. Depends on what spells you have really. As for your 16 Inferno/8 Warmth ((I think)) idea, If I can complete my MGS speed run before everybody is finished talking about Diablo II, and nobody else tries it. I'd love to give it a shot, I never really got into Inferno, I <3ed FireBall/Meteor though
