Looks suspiciously like a megaflip. However after watching in slow motion it seems the baba hit you in midair while you were backflipping so thats more like a recoil flip. I think it goes further then a recoil flip though so it could be useful. Nice find

It appears to just be a recoil flip. It doesn't go any farther than one.

Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time

That segment was awesome. To add on to my youtube comment on the video, you used some very sweet hovering tricks off the bomb rats (can't remember what they are :p), as well as the other tricks pulled off. All very well done.

since you're already a goron, is supersliding+hovering off the chus really much faster than rolling up to the fence and using the real bombchus to boost you over?

Indeed, the Elegy of Emptiness can be skipped using Bomb Hovering to reach Stone Tower Temple (as is being done in the newest segment of his run, 26).

but in a 100% run we can't skip the song.
I think it would be the best to do stone tower at first. That means early Light Arrows.

Then you can easily get the Mirror Shield by entering the Well from Ikana Castle and simply getting past the big sun stone with the Light Arrows. That skips the whole Well quest. After that simply Bombchu Hover up to the Heart Piece and finally you use another Light Arrow for the sun stone in front of the Ikana Castle Boss.

What do we all have to do in Icana Canyon? Can somebody tell me everything?

In 100%, and assuming you mean Ikana Canyon as not including the graveyard, you need to do:

Poe killing for a heart piece
Mirror Shield
1 or 2 Heart Pieces in the Castle
The Mummy Mask (forgot the name)
The challenge thing behind the waterfall
The Thief's Hideout for Couple's Mask Quest.

Does the Well have a Heart Piece
Does Stone Tower have a Heart Piece?

I think that's it.

So, as I make mild amounts of progress on cycle 3 of the 100% run (there's SO MUCH to do), I figured I'd take a look into what we actually need for the 4 dungeons, which will be taking up a lot of the cycle and largely determine how the cycle will be structured. And what better way to find the ideal route through a dungeon than to TAS it. So I give you the first of these, ie, Stone Tower.

Things of note:

--With a bit more judicious bombchu use, we should be able to get it down to 20 chus and still not have to do any bomb hovers. This means we can stock ourselves up to 40 chus before Ikana and not have to warp back to the bomb shop.
--Fire Arrows are needed, so STT must come after Snowhead.
--Elegy of Emptiness (and thus Mirror Shield) must be gotten before you do the east wing of the Inverted Tower.
--takes ~9hr game time (~3hr slowed game time)
--Using Fire/Ice Arrows on Twinmold isn't faster than using the Giant's Mask. Since Ice Arrows are used nowhere else, STT>GBT has no downside.

Finally I finished my MM run Smiley

The final time is 2:31:07

Actually, my goal was to sub 2:20. I can't think of any part in the run where I really made mistakes, that cost a lot of time, that I lost about 15 minutes against the TAS. The TAS also had to watch the SoT cutscences and to speak to Tael after the first SoT, but I'm just glad the run is over Wink

Nice time. I'll have to get around to watching the whole thing at some point.

If you try for sub-2:30, I'd suggest doing it on console. After all, it would be quite an achievement, and God knows we need pyh's MM run obsoleted.

If you improve it, it would be nice when you could do it on console and I think that the scarecrow song skip should do it already. But anyway, I don't want to criticize you in any way.
In the description of your last segment I read that you're thinking about running Minish Cap. Is that your next project?

I have to finish my Master Quest run now and then I need a DVD recorder. Minish Cap would be awesome to speed run in my opinion. I made my route month ago already, so the possibility, that I will do that run, is pretty big Wink

I would actually also feel like running OoA or OoS, but before I would do that run we need to break the game. I will try to find main glitches for this game now. There can't be any zelda game without glitches Cheesy

Thanks that you like my run. I won't be able to do that run on a console. If I use my PS2 controller on a GCN, then the buttons are placed differently, so I can't play like that on a console Tongue

I'm not sure how the different button layout prevents you from playing the game, unless it's really, REALLY screwed up. Learning a new control scheme isn't really that hard.

Also, you have a GCN but not a GCN controller?

I have a GCN controller and GCN only a USB adapter for PS2 controller. the buttons are placed completely differently to the normal controller. my c-up button is on the select button etc.

WAIT A SECOND.....

When does the timing for the run starts?

I timed the whole intro and stopped segment 1, when the Dawn of the first day thing started.
I stopped timing always, when I pressed yes to save at the Owls and after SoT. that was correctly, wasn't it?
