Hey, everyone!  My name is Mitch.  I have been thinking about getting into speedrunning since AGDQ last year, but I couldn't decide what game to play. I recently bought Teslagrad, and I enjoyed it so much that I've started running it. My current 100% time is 1:05:01, which is pretty scrub, but I'm happy with it for now.  Gotta get some more practice in and reach new PBs.  Cheesy

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here on the forums. I've started streaming (though not on a regular schedule) at http://www.twitch.tv/arturrian, so please come check it out some time if you see me online. I hope to see you all around!

P.S. If you have any recommendations for other games that are easy for beginner runners, please let me know. Smiley
Speedrunning is the way forward
Yoooo guys im scrufy (liam davies) 20 years old from the uk finally joined after watching Agdq and Sgdq for the past 3 years and been speedrunning for about a year. I currently speedrun 3 games Smiley

Hey guys, my names Coaxial. I'm really new to the speedrunning scene, so far I'm learning to run A Story About My Uncle but, games like Mirrors Edge, the 3D Mario  games and really anything else that's sort of  technical and a platformer all sound great to learn. Grin I stream on twitch some times, my name over there is Coaxial_ feel free to stop by if you want. Sooo yeah, see ya guys around.

He's got a bicycle!
My name is Noah, just getting into speedrunning. Starting off with the original Crash Bandicoot. Aiming for any% first then tackling 100%. Probably will learn the other PS1 Crash games (some SNES games and possibly Spyro too!!!) after I've submitted a run for Crash 1. Aside from games I'm super into music and have been playing music for almost eight years now (starting with guitar, now playing about 9 instruments). Don't expect streaming from me cause my internet is really bad. My goal is to make it to a GDQ as a runner. This introduction has gone on long enough.
That thing stuck under the table
Hello! my name is MasterJay, though really its just Jacob, I'm 26 originally from Argentina but living in the UK. I've been obsessively replaying through levels in Super Mario 3D Land trying to beat my times and finding faster routes through levels. I decided to get into speedrunning properly after watching SGDQ and a bunch of Mario streamers. I am starting with Super Mario Galaxy Any% which I am learning at the moment. Hopefully I can post some decent times soon.
Hey everyone name is Matt, have watched speedruns for a while now but finally decided to start myself with Wolfenstein: TNO. Though I am a console scrub(PS4) and will be until I buy a computer that isn't a potato.

Current TNO PB is 1:57:33. Whenever I can buy a capture card I will probably be streaming runs at TheWarDrum on Twitch.
Ultra Ultra Ultra!!
Hi folks I am Dave used the username cinder as Killer Instinct for the Super Nintendo is probably my favourite ever fighting game! I owned everyone with Cinder so naturally it's an apt username. I came across this site after watching Mark Wester Mckenzies pokemon Yellow speedrun where he beat the entire game with one Nidoking I am gobsmacked by this so kudos Mark! I always used Charizard and others to beat the 3 original pokemon games and I would never even think of completing it with just one! Using X accuracy to prevent horndrill from missing was a stroke of genius! I guess a few games I could have a bash at speedrunning are broken sword 1 and poss mario 3 maybe iron sword when I get a controller for my pc again I attempted to play this game with the keyboard and I challenge any of you to even get past the cloud level with this as your peripheral! SOLID! Can I make a request? Would love to see someone complete Super Nintendo The Addams family in under 45minutes? That would be some sight to behold I have completed this game a few times but think it would take me at least and hour or so. Anyway great site and love all the videos another particularly impressive run was the one done on Super Ghouls and Ghosts I had this on Super NEs as a child and I don't even think I got further than level 2 it was so infuriating and that guy just made it look easy! Very well done!

Hello People. My name is MrLavender.
I'm just getting into the speed running community. if anyone has any tips on speed running, that'll be awesome. (Not that good at speed running) Nice meeting all of you. Smiley
Hey guys, I'm KirbyMario44 (aka KirbyMario) and decided to get into speed runs, I'll mainly do casual runs of PC games but as time passes I'll move over to console games and submit runs. I'm not very good so some tips will be nice, anyways, see you all later!
Hi all, I'm Sniglett. Recently been running Sly Cooper 1 Any%. Still learning Death Swamp and China, so after I get those down to a science I'll be able to start posting some half-decent times. I also plan on learning Spyro 1 & 2 Any/100% and Ratchet & Clank Any%. Nice meeting everyone!
My name is Brian Inwood, and I'm a 24 year old Canadian. Been a fan of SDA for a long time, and even submitted a run many years ago back when you were allowed to mail in vhs tapes. I hold the record for the individual course of Gourmet Race Course 3 in Kirby Super Star. Not a big deal, but a run that has stood proud since 2007.

I'm a big fan of handheld games, and lately have been discovering all sorts of great original Game Boy games I missed out on. I've also been playing a lot of DSiWare lately, which is a surprisingly great source of fun games. Not sure if I'll run any myself, but it'd be neat to see the original game boy get some more love on the site. Hopefully we can see some at AGDQ 2015. : )
My name is Ray Postel Jr., I'm a 18 year old male who got into watching speedrunning 2 years ago and hope to go to AGDQ 2015 Smiley
My name's Thomas Stang, usually just go by Tom. I've become fascinated with speed running video games ever since watching GDQ charity streams; and for the past year I started thinking on what game I could run, and I finally found it.

I've decided to start running Left 4 Dead 2; it's my all time favorite video game, I've played it pretty consistently since it's release in 2009, and during the span of 2008-2009 almost all I played was it's predecessor Left 4 Dead. I really haven't found anyone else who actually runs the game, but if there are others out there I would love to meet them! I run the "category" (in quotes because I'm unsure what categories exist for the game) of easy mode w/ AI bots.

For the past couple of weeks I've just been grinding every campaign of the 13 total in order to gain my best times, soon I want to do the full run of all 13 campaigns however; after I feel comfortable with the times I've gotten on my single campaign runs Smiley
I've been eyeballing the NES toploader A/V mod service and decided to join.
My name is Kevin, and I like to speedrun, provides a new challenge to my favorite games, but I have never done so to the extent that I have seen here. Discovered this site from SGDO 2014. I love FF and decided that the first game I wanna really commit and contribute to is gonna be the HD console version of Final Fantasy Type-0. Already developing a strat on the JP PSP version. I will start a thread when I feel like I have a solid foundation in the run already. Can't wait to work with some of you awesome runners and FF fans! in the future!!
Hey everyone, I'm chuckles825. I've been following SDA and the GDQ marathons for a couple years now, but I finally decided to join. In the past, I have casually run games that I enjoyed like Super Meat Boy, Dark Souls, and Mario 64. I have generally enjoyed all genres of gaming, but I tend to prefer games with a fluid movement system(SMB) and/or a large amount of exploration (LoZ/Metroid/Souls Series).

As of this post, I am hoping to improve on some lesser run games. For starters, I am working on Crazy Taxi for the Dreamcast. While it is not currently a well-defined game in terms of speedrunning, I believe it has a huge potential. I am trying to properly define and route categories such as Crazy%(reach Crazy rank in arcade mode) and Crazy Box%(single segment run of the Crazy Box challenges). This has been really fun so far, and I seem to enjoy the game more and more as I keep playing and improving.

Anyway, I'm glad to join the site and I'm looking forward to future of speedrunning!
Hi all, Duo here hopping aboard the speedrunning community as well.  I've been keeping track of speedrunning since 2010, and since watching AGDQ/SGDQ 2014, I decided it's time to stop lurking.  My dream is to take a game to *GDQ by 2018.  I am going into my last year of college studying game art and game design having transfered from a pre-med route, so needless to say the *GDQ events speak to me on all levels.  Even if it never happens, at least it's a goal to work towards while playing games that I enjoy.

I'm going to begin by running Seiken Densetsu 3 single segment, Kevin's storyline.  I have looked into RanedofSOTN's segmented run and am also using praetarius3's TAS run as a reference for God beast order as well.  Of course, since this is single segment and not a TAS, I'm going to have to make modifications to how the run works since reseting is not an option.  The RNG is stronk.

I'll also be doing some Tetris Attack whenever I get burned out from spamming runs.  Both SD3 and Tetris Attack have consumed my childhood with the most hours of play of the SNES era, so it seems like a logical place to start.

Lastly, shout outs to Cosmo and Tri-hex as being my two biggest influences to getting into speedrunning.  Hoping that one of these days I'll be able to thank them in person.

Looking forward to being a part of the community.
Hello, my name is Kennedy (TeamKennedy on Twitch) and I'm new around here. I've been interested in the speedrunning community for 2-3 years now. Typically watch games such as Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Super Meat Boy. Made the decision to start speedrunning on my Twitch channel a few days ago. Going to start off with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) due to childhood nostalgia, but plan on eventually speedrunning Dark Souls, TMNT IV: Turtles In Time, and maybe even one day Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time.
Hey i'm Orion, been watching Speed Runs for a couple years now, just decided to hop onto the site to see how it's done and see what I would need for some speedruns! My favorite game is Borderlands, and i've been wanting to speed run it for a could years, so i'm on here to get some info and join the community!
Had a mild interest in speed runs for a whole now, technically I've been speed running since I was a kid because I used to play Metroid fusion over and over and see how fast I could beat it. I have a long way to go before I'm half decent at speed running any game. I'm not really interested in going for records but I want to get to a good speed running standard so I can stream speed runs during my University's gaming societies charity marathons.
Some personal favourties I want to learn to speed run at a high level: Crash Bandicoot 2, Metroid Fusion, Luigi's Mansion, Resident Evil 4, Jet Set Radio, Silent Bomber and P.N.03 just to name a few.
Hello, I'm Nathan. I'm not at all new to speedrunning; I've been speedrunning under a different username for years. However, this is my first time posting on SDA. The games I plan on running include Super Turrican (maybe other Turrican games), DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no Dokidoki Daibouken, Sonic 3D Blast and maybe ActRaiser and some other SNES games.

Hi there, I found SDA through an SGDQ or AGDQ event while I was watching twitch once, and it piqued my interest. I am currently waiting for my new laptop to get back from being repaired, and thought I might as well start speed running some games :). I've decided that I'm going to start my speed-running with Thomas was Alone, as of tonight. Looking forward to making many new friends.

Hello, I'm Cronibard. I watch speedruns for years now, and I finally decided to start speedrunning. The game I'm currently speedruning is Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. I decided to register on SDA to share some strats and get infos about the game! And maybe make someone pick up the game, because it is always funnier to compete with someone.
Hi there, I'm Kyle (Cynas)!  I'm finishing up my PhD in Chemistry on the east coast, and when I'm not doing research or writing, I'm playing video games!  I've been watching videos on SDA since 2012, but I've only recently begun watching streams, and have started my own.  I'm working on the NES GI Joe games to get started, but I hope to have a greater impact in the RPG runs in the future.  The community here is fantastic, and I couldn't possibly stay off of the forums any longer!
Hey there. I'm JWinslow23. I found SDA with Andrew Gardikis' sub-5 minute run of SMB. I realize that I will not be able to beat the current record (as I can't do a walljump consistently, among other reasons). However, I'm practicing a trick that can complete Super Mario Bros 3 in 3 minutes! Let's hope we allow the trick...
