Hi all, Titan here. I used to watch speedruns back in the day and gradually fell away from it but I've been watching lots recently and have decided to do my own. Currently I'm planning on running a few of the Hitman games. I'm also a bit of a tech nerd.

One I get my runs down I'll start uploading. May be a while but I hope to have fun here. Smiley
Gaming for fun > Gaming for prizes
Hello everyone.  My name is Bryan, or by gaming terms, StarryAqua, if you prefer.  For as long as I can remember, I have been gaming.  It's been a true passion of mine.  Though I had played some of my favorite games multiple times, I never really did it for the purpose of speed running.  It wasn't until later did I discover that I could really finish these games with fast and excellent timing, all the while not losing the fun factor that made these games great for me.

I discovered SDA through the marathons I randomly came across posted on YouTube.  It looked very interesting and was for a good cause, so I decided to check more into SDA.  I'm pleasantly surprised with what I have discovered.  In the future, this is definitely something I'd like to be a part of.

I'm currently trying to speed run Zelda: A Link Between Worlds to the best of my abilities and hope to one day maybe even participate in a AGDQ/SGDQ marathon for it.  In the meantime, I'm happy to be a part of this community. thumbsup

Hey guys!  My name is Chris, but you can just call me Wolfie.  I love the video games that fill me with nostalgia.  I decided to join here after watching Mofat run Zelda TP at the summer games done quick marathon.  That dude is amazing!  I really like Buzzsaw too, seems like a cool dude... Well you all seem like cool dudes!

So a little about me.  I'm a college baseball player.  Whenever I'm not focusing on school sports or working out, I'm playing a Zelda or Mario game lol.  I love all those games, but I just love the most how secretly deep and symbolic I find every Zelda game to be.  It connects with me on a personal level, and I love watching you guys destroy it.  Its remarkable.  I hope to make some friends on here and engage in interesting conversation.  I chose my username because my favorite animal has always been a wolf.  My friends call me wolfie because I actually own a half wolf at home.  Any other questions for me just let me know.  I'm happy to be here!

Hi. my Name is Josh, or Crystaldemon as the people on the internet know me as. I began with live streaming this year because of the recorded AGDQ and SGDQ on the SDA youtube channel. I really love this whole Speed Running community, and I would really like to get one of my Runs of the forums, and that game would be Godzilla: Unleashed for the Wii. I hope to be getting that on the archive soon, but until then I will continue to improve and watch more livestreams!
I hope you all have fun and a good day

my name's Ryan Staples, I guess I've been lurking around here since 2006 or so, and have planned to run about a million games but always got sidetracked after a few weeks or so and gave up :p

I pretty much am a big Nintendo fanboy (Zelda Mario Kirby Metroid) all the classics. I have however recently been getting pretty good at paper Mario and although im not serious about it right now also like speedrunning Zelda games. mainly oot.
i liek swimmiming
Hey everyone, my name is Ray, and I've been hooked on this website ever since I came across a video of Cosmo doing a OOT speedrun during SGDQ 2013. I've never really did a speed run of any game, but I'm slowly getting into it. I'm looking on trying to do a ssbm speedrun (though I'm having a bit of difficulty) as well as doing a few more obscure speedruns including the Stanley Parable. Anyway, that's all for now, thanks for reading, and I hope to keep active on the forums ^^
Hey there, I'm a long time -GDQ lurker, first time speedrun attempt-er. I've long been impressed with the concept of speedruns but never got around to attempting them myself, but recently I've decided to try my hand good or bad. After all I can't assume I'd be terrible if I never tried.

Anyways I'm a big Blazblue fan these days and was a part of the Smash community for awhile (Cosmo kicked my ass in a Zelda mirror once) so I'm no stranger to video game forum-space. I've been trying to find a game to speedrun first and after doing a little thinking set my heart on the latest SSX installment (just simplistically called "SSX" from 2011-2012), and as far as I can tell there are no recorded runs for the game nor forum threads dedicated to it or the series (which I was a little surprised by since I always felt the natural urge to "go faster" when playing it): but hopefully that means I can break new ground there. From my initial runs of it so far it's kept my attention and shown some real opportunity for laying out routes and strategies, so I'm excited to see if I can take it anywhere.

For now I'll just get situated here and with the game, and if I get to a point where I feel confident that the run and my skill as a runner has developed I'll pursue some recording equipment to get it documented and submitted. After that I'm not sure where to take it, but I'm sure a couple more games will pop up if I find I've got the knack. I've seen already that someone in the request thread asked for a Blazblue run which could be possible from me, but honestly I don't know how much the run would look like a speedrun over just a skilled playthrough, because I think really that's all it would end up being.
Hello
My Name is David and i buy and Sell mostly Boxed PC FPS games. Other games make to to my collections as well^^
Aways interested in sale lists and wanted lists.
Always have a game or two going.
Hello,
I'm Samupo and I am a spanish game developer.
I recently have been watching SGDQ and AGDQ and really liked the idea of speedruning games. Since I'm quite bad at gaming and I won't be able to beat anyone's record on a game I will try to find games that aren't very popular. I'm thinking about 'Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale' to start with.
Get over here!
Hello Samupo and welcome to the community Smiley
I recommend you check out http://www.twitch.tv/mr_weables! He's doing Recettear runs and has the current record iirc.
Hello SDA community! I was brought here after watching Miles run Metroid Prime 100%. I was laughing almost the whole time watching somebody destroy my favorite game with ridiculous glitches. The whole reason I'm posting is because I want to see these in person. Where are the runs held? Does it cost to watch?
I'm the best

Hey guys and gals! Been aware of the SDA community since around the summer of 2011, been a big fan of feasel and Trihex, but was really interested after AGDQ2012, and decided to pick up speedrunning again, (did it casually with friends on who could beat SMB and SMB3 warpless the fastest) but this time with the goal on setting my own record, for one of my favorite newer games, Shank, and even creating a new category. After a month of routing and testing I've started sitting down and grinding out the runs tuning my time until it's decent enough to submit.
Hello folks,

My boyfriend introduced me to -GDQ runs a few months ago. Since I loved watching them (watched Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI, Starcraft 2, Paper Mario, Super Mario etc etc.) I tried to see what games hadn't been run (and re-run and re-run etc.) to make some sort of attempt on my own. I then realized that only on Dynasty Warriors run has been recorded so I tried to start prepping for a Dynasty Warriors 6 run. I think it would be amazing to run a game like that live for a marathon at some point.

In my "real life" I am an educator looking at going back to graduate school to study the effect games have on learning and motivation for learning.
Hello everyone!  AllTheHighwinds here,  (ATH or just Highwind for short).  I've been a long time lurker/viewer of the speed running community and finally decided to jump in and be a part of it.  I've been gaming for as long as I can remember and it's never worn on me.  I think I first found out about this when I came across AGDQ 2011 on youtube.  Been hooked ever since.  Lately I've been trying to Speedrun Zone of the Enders 1 and 2, but will probably expand to more.  Maybe some Brave Fencer Musashi or something.  Anyway hope I can contribute to this fine community!
Hey everybody.

I've always been interested in speed running but never knew what games I would actually like to speed run. Recently I've found a few games I would really like to learn how to speed run. And so I will try and be active on here. I'm brand new to speed running (never ran anything before at all, or even tried) So this will be something new to occupy my free time and I look forward to improving my game!
Hey,
I'm Benzuko. I've been watching speed runs for years but never considered whether I would be any good at it myself. I've been gaming for 22 years and mainly choose Nintendo consoles. I'm a massive fan of Metroid and Zelda, but also love JRPG's.
I prefer to speed run platformers but I'm hoping to branch out.
Hey,

I'm Zero. I've been playing games all my life but only really got into speedrunning about a year or two ago. I just made an account to talk with people about AGDQ 2014 which I'll be attending. I hope to meet a lot of you folks there and have a good time.
Hello, everyone! Cheesy I'm Danielle, an avid writer, a thoughtful tea-drinker, and longtime lover of video games. My favorite console is my beloved SNES - PS2 following behind. I am rarely moved to tears, but I cry like a baby every time I beat Lufia II, my absolute favorite video game. And if I could program any voice on my GPS, it would be Christopher Randolf's.

So far, I've got two SDA runs in-the-making: Nancy Drew Final Scene (which has been accepted!), and Shadow of Destiny (which is in the verification process).

It's a pleasure being here! Thank you all for having me!! Grin
Hello, my name is in IRL Julien, i'm 17 years old and i'm french. I'm here to look how to guys speedrun games, and i wan't to know if SDA accept a speedrun of Zero Wing, because it's a shoot'em up :s
That's all, thanks for reading and sorry for my bad english :s
Mornin'!  Name's Tim, been watching stuff on the site for over a year now and figured I'd like to try putting something on it.  Or at least help something get put up :p
Awwww Fook!
Hello Peeps,

Names Edobean, but most people call me Edo. I'm 25 years old and I've been a gamer pretty much my whole life. I've been lurking the Speed Demos Archive site for probably about two years and have been quite fascinated by it. So I finally decided to join the forums. I hope to be a speedrunner but I'm still in the learning process. The game I'm currently learning his Mega Man X.

I have a soft spot for older games, particularly the SNES. Some of my favorite series are Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Metroid, Sonic the Hedgehog, Katamari Damacy, Mega Man & X series, Lufia II, MOTHER (Earthbound) Series, Final Fantasy, annnd the list goes on and on.

Besides gaming, I love to do voice acting, drawing, and singing very very horribly. I also do Let's Plays whenever I get the chance and have a part time job.

So yeah, that's pretty much it. I hope to enjoy these forums and can't wait to meet some cool peeps!
Hello. I am The Sea Grist or The Grist of the Sea, either way is fine with me. I saw the charity event when I was in Korea I think the first one I saw was someone, can't remember who, was playing the first mario for the NES without looking at the tv and I though that was pretty neat. Then I click on another video and saw Cosmo destroy OoT and I was absolutely speechless! Then I watched a ton of other speed runs and I kept toying the the idea of speed running for a long time (almost a year at this point since I watched those first SDA vids) and now I have finally decided to toss my hat in the ring! Before I go further on that now, however, I would like to say that I have actually raced to dark world in a link to the past with my mom before I ever consider or even heard about "speedruns" I won though that was the only game she ever played. My time getting into dark world was about an hour but we had to collect particular items and a particular number of hearts to satisfy the challenge. Anyway, back to the matter at hand I have taken up running FF1 on the game boy advance but piscodemons in the marsh are a run killer though, I have tried several times today and died to that part so many times. Anyway, hello.
Hey guys I'm Leon and I speed run games casually with my cousin's on youtube we also do lets plays. We were inspired by Speed demos archive. Check out our youtube? http://www.youtube.com/user/SpeedRunners1
