Hello all! I am Ben, or Neb, or Nobody. A friend of mine got me into speedrunning and so I'd been rolling back in the nostalgia for all my old favorite games. I guess for now my plans include practicing and streaming casually Metal Gear Solid for PSX and when I get good enough on the emulator, transfer over to my console and try to crank out an updated run for the site. I know at AGDQ 2013 there was the All Boss run of the game that improves the time on the site currently (It was a treat to watch). And there is the any boss run that blows it out of the water. So going to be working on that. Hope to see you all around!
Hey Guys! My name is Craizy and i follow the Speedrunnercommunity for a while now. So i thought, why don't you try it yourself? My first attempt will be Rayman Legends and/or Super Mario Sunshine.
I start. You blink. I finish.
Hello All! I am Sir AlDeezy, Master of the Universe (District Manager of time, Salesman of language, and Part time worker at Aldi), but you may simply refer to me as "Master of the universe, DM of time, Salesman of language, Casual Aldi guy AlDeezy" (AlDeezy for short). I've been an avid lurker of the SR community for a little under a year now, and have finally cracked down on doing it myself. Video Games are fun, old games are very fun, and playing old games fast is really, REALLY fun. I've routed out a few obscure games that literally no one would ever want to learn (And am the self-proclaimed WR holder for "Spider: The Videogame (legit run pending (recording of legit run pending (scheduling for recording of legit run pending)))..... )(!) but intend on looking into games that are "more mainstream" (read: actually played by another human being). I enjoy art, camping, playing video games (fast or briskly paced or other), using parentheses for sarcastic quips (woo hoo!), potentially ruining my posts' integrity by constantly using parentheses, and squeezing humor out of self referential rants.

I look forward to having my arse handed to me on a silver platter (metaphorically (and literally? Depends on the context))!!!
I Speedrun Games No One Else Does...
Hello fellow travelers! I am DarkShibara from Fyrestone (not really)! I have been speedrunning since 2010, yet just decided to join the community. My first speedrun was Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom however the main game that I am speedrunning is Tony Hawk's Underground. I am currently learning Fable 3, THUG 2 and Shrek 2: Beg for Mercy (GBA). I hope to find more people that speedrun THUG and so far, I've only found 3 so I hope I can encourage others to join the community as well. See you over there!
Greetings, Undead Warrior.

I am currently a fan of speedrunning, but am beginning to run Soul Sacrifice for time, as well as Dark Souls, though the current time on that has sort of been conquered.

Perhaps I'll speedrun Treasure Mountain or something like The Witcher 2 while I'm at it.  Hee.
It's like kamikaze, but bigger
Hi all, just joined up after lurking on the SDA YouTube channel for a while. Cosmo's AGDQ OoT Any% run got me into speedrunning officially, though I found myself doing exactly this as a kid, not knowing there was a community for it the whole time. I plan to run Mega Man Xtreme 2 both low% and 100%, and I'm going to try to go for Deadstick's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (SNES) run eventually. I got accepted to the Culinary Institute of America for January 2014, so I'm pretty happy about that. Hopefully I'll be able to balance speedrunning and cooking.
Hello guys ! I'm Jindeathwalk, a french guy who discovered you during AGDQ 2013 (thanks Mv and the French Restream). I have begin speedrun since early October with Suikoden IV, a very good game, but after some researchs nobody speedrun it (except me Smiley ).  I practice Suikoden IV in NG+ and I prepare an other run in NG+ Clear (no inventory, thanks to CVagts for speaking about it).
I'm Student on sabatical year. My english is a bit bad and I hope you can forgive me for it.

Feel free to message me, especially if it concern Suikoden IV Cheesy
Name's Elmo, I just joined these here forums making this my first post. I've been gaming all my life, and I hope to contribute what little skills I have via speedruns. I haven't uploaded anything yet, but I hope to soon.

About me:
I am 27 years old. I got my first NES when I was 4 and I haven't put down a controller since. I work the early morning shift. Which gives me plenty of time for my hobby's, and  that's all I have to say about that. Smiley
Terrible at games
I never made one of these.

My name's David, I'm a high school student in New York City.

I have no fucking idea why I went to SRL one day, I don't even remember how I found it at all.
I've decided to badly run a shit ton of games because I can't pick one (Brutal Legend, Saints Row: The Third, Assassin's Creed II, OoT, Portal, to name a few)

Hold WR in Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Proudest achievement.

Gotta go fast!
Hi I'm Alan and I've enjoyed watching speed runs for a while now and decided that I could give it a go! So here's to some not horrific times Tongue
Hey guys, i'm YddrA, but you can call me by my real name Gaetan (English people will have some trouble with it, so stay with Yddra xD). i'm 18 and i've decided to join SDA because i was currently thinking about sharing my speeruning runs. I started speedruning two years ago, but i always did it for myself, now i'm streaming on twitch. So i'm here to share my passion of speedruning with you, speak about new strategy, look at some cool runs and show you mine !
Im curently playing at FF VI, my PB is 5:12:14, but i wish i can do better than that ! :p
I hope to meet some friendly people and make some friends in this comunity =)
Hey there! Cheesy I guess you can call me Lighty, cause "LightyPlays" a bit long. Cheesy I'm 18 and already did some Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow Runs (Just getting to Graham/Normal Ending without OoB, Glitches and stuff, actually don't know how to call that xD) Actually planning on do a "Single Segment Hard Mode New Game+" Run for Aria of Sorrow. Cheesy
For myself, i live in Suisse but I was born in Germany. I am a bit shy but if you get to know me more i will get more talkative! Cheesy
Bigbacon here. Normally a PC gamer but I'm really into older stuff again. Joined up here to start speed running some TG16 and SMS stuff on a casual basis but hope it can be more than that.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to best do segmented runs and/or how SDA likes those to be done?

Bigbacon: Same rules for segmented runs as for single segments. Make sure you don't have missing bits in the recording (or: make sure to record from loading the game to saving the game; having more (main menu) doesn't hurt), and make it adequate video quality. See the submission thread for more details. Remember to make sure that the video is SDA quality (The game and nothing but the game as the most important requirement). You can also post test recordings in the Tech support forum to make sure that you quality is up to par. Make sure that there is consistency between segments (or if there is inconsistency, because you redid a segment later, that it is not to your advantage). Sorry if this sounds confusing, I just wrote it down as it came to my mind :3
Welcome to SDA ^^ <-- also to all the others up there.
thanks, my plan for now is just to actually record the TV as I don't recording device yet but that gets me started to at least learn what I need to do and work on the games.
Caution: This user contains Kana ^_^
Camcorder at the TV won't pass the SDA quality test. Hooking up a DVD recorder between console and TV usually would, though ^^
I feeeeel it
Hello guys, My name is MegaMoose. I know the name is stupid but what can you do? Tongue
I like to speedrun fps games that not many people have heard of. I am currently running Day of the Zombie, which is a glitchy zombie fps similar to Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green.
I am born and raised in Brisbane, Australia and have been speedrunning for a little over a year now and so I thought I would contribute to this awesome site Cheesy
Well hello there.

Javeliin, 20y old student from Finland.
Been playing games ever since I was a little kid and hopefully I'll never grow out of it.
Discovered speedrunning through SDA many years ago, fell in love with it during AGDQ 2011 and recently decided to pick it up myself.

For now I'll be fooling around with GTAV, I have some other games I might wanna run but for now I'll try to push the most violent car simulator around to it's limits.
Hey there. I'm Kansokusha, and I've only recently discovered speedruns through Werster. Currently making my way through a lot of AGDQ and SGDQ VODs and really looking forward to the next marathon. Currently looking into the viability of a single segment Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker any% run, something that doesn't seem to have been done before. I'll probably try my hand at the earlier MGS titles too. I've played through them dozens of times, but never thought to speedrun.
Two cookies and a cheeto
Konnichiwa, I'm Nightdawn (aka Dan)

I've been playing games as long as I can remember, the old Atari 2600 still sits proudly beside my TV screen and I pretty much own every console since, a library of over a thousand games so I got things to keep me busy.

Some years ago I started a youtube channel and a Twitch account and since then I've been streaming/Let's Playing.
I know I'm kind of mediocre but I try to be as good as I can even though I struggle a lot.

I've been watching AGDQ since it's start and apart once, due to the fact that I got somewhat of a disability I can't really be apart of ADGQ/SGDQ all that much, planning on going again 2014.
Speedruns are something I like a lot and I've started to do those myself, I stream about five games right now and would dream of the day to do it live at ADGQ, as I play mostly Japanese only games I tend to miss a lot when it comes to speedrunners.
