Hello everyone, my name is Andrew and I speedrun Silent Hill 2 at http://www.twitch.tv/bigmanjapan/profile (52m46s is my current record @_@).
Hi!  I'm Doug, but for some reason I didn't think that made for a good username, so I go by Hiro or some variation thereon.  I've yet to make any attempt to speedrun a game, but there are a few I'd love to do that don't currently have runs posted on SDA.  Here's hoping I can get good enough at one or more of them to change that!
Hi,

I'm Baptiste, I'm 23 and I live in France.
I've been introduced to speed runs and TAS by a show called 88mph about 3 or 4 years ago, from there I've started lurking on SDA and TASvideos for more runs and I've recently started running Braid and DLC Quest and I'm planning to run Portal and a Resident Evil, probably the 4th.

I don't really know what else to say, see you around !
Running Crash 1
Hey all, I'm Brandon, I've been watching speedruns since the beginning of sgdq 2013 and have started it myself, I have been running crash bandicoot 1 for just over a week and working my way up the leaderboards, hoping to get a capture card so I can record legit videos for sda, until I save up money though I will be running and practising on emulator(Yes I've read the sda rules) for personal playing.

Looking forward to it guys.

Hey.  I've been around this site and many gaming sites for a long time but have never made an account here.  I'm an avid gamer and go by this alias everywhere online.  I'm about to start streaming on twitch.tv/awein999 A LOT, all speedrunning.  I have a mad passion for it and finally have gathered appropriate tools to share my interests with you all.  I realize that this is a great place to learn about technical rules of submission of speedruns and what versions of games to use that are the best for "x" game. Most importantly there are some awesome people I need to get to know around here and I think you'd like to get to know me too <3
New to speedruns. Help if you can!
Hello, fellow speedrunners! My name's Connor, but I'd prefer to go by my username: Marioaddict! (Or TheMarioaddict as far as youtube is concerned...). I'm just now starting college (studying game design), and I stumbled across this strange thing called speedrunning. It looks pretty cool, so I think I'm gonna try my hand at it. I'm hoping to pioneer speedrunning for some games that I have yet to see ANY runs of (mostly DS games and such).

Who knows? Maybe some day I'll even be GOOD at speedrunning.
Hi, I'm Brian, and I just started seriously getting into speedruns. I'm currently working on DKC 2 and shooting for a 42 run.

I'm Jan, basically.. I'm new to speedrunning, I'm just trying to have fun!
Currently I'm actually looking for a "main game" to run, I guess I'm going at it casually atm.
Anyway, here's hoping to have fun and all that! :>
Hello, I'm Hez. Not new to the Speedrunning scene, been racing and other things learning games at SRL, caught the GDQ'S and such each year, finally came on here to discus some games and route and all that good jazz, looks to be fun and such.
No Spectacular runs or anything like that from me just yet, but who knows. Look forward to talking and learning more with everyone.

Twitch.tv/Hezakiah5 is the stream

looking forward to everything.
Hi.
I'm Luke. I've been watching speed runs for a few years now. For some reason I've only just noticed this thread, so I thought 'better late than never, right?' So yeah...
Some of you might have already seen me about talking about my SDA App, and also kicking around on people's Twitch Channels.

I think I started competing against my brother when I was about 10. We would come home every night after school and each have a go on Metal Gear Solid 1 and see if we could beat the other's time. We only got it down to around 5 hours, which no one at school believed. They were good times.
When I was around 13 my brother got a job and left me alone on the evening I would play Colin McRae Rally 3 on the XBOX. I believe I played the first race for about 5 hours straight in the Ford Focus to get a perfect time. For those who aren't familiar with that game is that you can actually get a unique code from it that you input onto the Codemasters' website and it would put your score onto the leaderboards. I was, of course, disheartened to see that I was nowhere near the top. It didn't take me long to notice that all the other scores ahead of mine were in 'group B' cars, which were ridiculously fast but ridiculously hard to control. So, in actual fact I was the highest ranking non-group B car racer on the particular level. I was so chuffed.

But by this point I had just obtained the Vice City and GTA3 bundle on XBOX, which while I playing thought 'This game is s**t. You can't even race it". I probably didn't know how wrong one person could be......
Hello.
My name is bybzii and I'm currently getting into speedrunning. I've always been a Mega Man fan so that is going to be my weapon of choice, and right now I am running Mega Man Unlimited since I got hooked on it after trying it out casually. After that I am probably gonna do the Street Fighter version, and later on get into the classics.

I have practiced Unlimited for some weeks now and just finished my first full run with a time of 47:56. My goal for the moment is to have a deathless run with sub 45, and after that I am doing some real optimizations.

If you want to see me do some Mega Man you can tune into twitch.tv/bybzii
Howdy.

My nickname is Drambit, and I'm a canadian gamer/speedrunner currently working at getting a really good PB in Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

You can find me at: ; http://www.twitch.tv/drambit ; http://steamcommunity.com/id/drambit
Hey all,

My twitch name is CuteFluffyBunny and right now the only game I run is Hotline Miami, I usually stream around midnight EST. Future plans include Hotline 2 when it comes out, and I want to learn to run some of my favorite games from my childhood, probably contra and ninja gaiden.

As of right now I'm planning on going to AGDQ, looking forward to racing hotline and meeting you guys in person.
oi everyone, Dahel here.

Long-time fan of speedruns and tool-assisted, finally getting into speedrunning games myself, and currently practicing Bunny Must Die, the crazy japanese metroidvania. Come watch my fails live here at http://www.twitch.tv/dahelziel
Hi, my name is Darkprophet.  I'm relatively new to speed running and am still learning.  The game I'm working on the most is Mega Man X, but i'm not sure if i'll ever be able to beat Caleb's record, so i'm also learning Chrono Trigger, which is my favorite game of all time.  Once I get a capture device that will work with my SNES/WiiU I will probably start streaming, however, i'm still pretty bad at both games (barely breaking 1 hour on MMX and haven't finished a full CT run to time yet)
Hi RDilux here!
Trying to be a speedrunner with some game's like Zelda MM 100% run (no glitches) and some other great games.
Also wanna try some mobile games (if allowed?)

Also have knowledge about emulator's and pc/console related stuff.

I hope to have some fun here and see more great and fun speedruns!!
Sunday driver.
LeBaguetteMan100/Lechanceux100 is here
I discovered speedrunning since 2009 and I was a great fan. I started speedrunning games 1 year ago
I'm a Crash Team Racing Speedrunner most of the time
When I'm not speedrunning Crash Team Racing, I speedrun some PC games like Zuma or Insaniquarium
Because I never get bored of CTR, you will probably never see me speedrun those games Tongue

Excuse me for my bad English which is actually good but not perfect
Something witty
Hello there! I'm Mopey.
About a little less than a year ago, a friend showed me some videos of AGDQ and I was near-instantly interested. Speed-running was always something I was interested in, but never went too in-depth with.
I "started" speed-running with Mega Man X4 because I played that game all the time as a kid and knew a lot about it, plus I'd get bored playing it normally for the 100th time, so I would decide to play it through as fast as possible. Now, I'm a bit more serious about speedrunning and plan on doing it as a side thing.

As of right now, the only game I've done a true speed-run of is Metal Slug X, but it's not official due to it being on an emulator (time to get Metal Slug Anthology on the PS2). I would like to speed-run Mega Man X4, probably a Zero any% run, Bleed (new game+), and possibly Cave Story+ on the PC.
I'd really hope to go to AGDQ or SGDQ in the future and participate, but I need to sharpen my skills before I do that.

Hope to see everyone around the forums.
DDR Player. what else should I say?
Hey Guys, This is SoundFX09.
I am mostly known as a DDR Player, But I've also recently gotten interested in the Speed-Running Community.
My current games that I've tried to speedrun are mostly from the "Metroid" Series. but I'm usually a 100% Runner.

Hello everyone. I am Goat, or Steven if you don't dig the user name. I've been a lurker for a little while, but I'm tired of having no one to talk to about my love for speed running. I've always found runs interesting, and have wanted to do a few myself, but I'm not a highly competitive person, so I've been playing games that others haven't touched yet to add a tiny little bit more variety. However, a good rivalry is always welcome. More motivation to strive for greatness. My current three games I'm interested in running are Dark Cloud for the PS2, Magic Pengel and the Quest for Color for the PS2, and Pokemon Platinum. My first ever speed run was a race against my older brother in the Lion King for Sega when I was a little kid. He beat it in 20 minutes exactly, and I beat it in 23 minutes. After that, I decided to run Ocarina of Time glitchless, which I got a time of 5:20-ish on.

I hope to make a few friends, and hopefully one day attend one of the charity marathons as a runner or just a spectator. Happy running, everyone!
Hey y'all!
I'm Daniel 'Pyrdon' Ebert, a long time WoW player. But since I quit and also finished my bachelorthesis, I've got quite some time left to spent. My interest in speedrunning grew with watching parts of SGDQ2013 and I decided to start it myself a few weeks ago. Currently I'm working on 'From Dust' and 'Diablo 3', even though there are some problems in terms of speedrunning with that game, which I will try to discuss in another thread soon. Right now I'm waiting for my next payment to get myself some recording software and an extra HD to start recording, so I can start submitting Quality tests and maybe complete runs. Until then I will just practice.

Have fun and thanks for this great site!
Hey everyone, my name is Sheena Bach. I go by Angelic_Devil here and I just sign up because I want to try speedrun games thanks to UltraJMan's influences. I hope I can do well in speedrunning. Also, my first speedrun would be XBLA version of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo since I already seen the GBA version done.
Hi!

I'm NekoKatsun (but I answer to Neko or Cat). Female, mid-20s, I've been playing various and sundry games my entire life, although I don't actually speedrun... I'm generally more of a completionist and challenge gamer; three-heart no-death challenges, run the dungeons backwards, that sort of thing. Also, a full-time job doesn't leave too much time for optimization, so it's nice to just relax with what I'm playing. I like almost every genre of game save for sports games and FPSs, and my favorites are RPGs and action games. Favorite game of all time is a very close tie between Okami and FFVI. I also have a soft spot for hilariously bad games, with bonus points if they could be classed as girlgames (Ar tonelico, Hyperdimension Neptunia, Darkened Skye, etc.).

I joined SDA specifically because I wanted to offer prizes for the various GDQs, so if you like handmade crochet things, I can hook you up (oh my god that's got to be one of the worst puns I think I've ever made).

Other interests include crochet, doing my nails, tabletop RPing, cooking, horror movies, the Japanese language, and the noble platypus.
