Hello, everybody.
I am Mab, and as of early this morning I am the legal owner of Games Done Quick, LLC in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
That fact is extremely problematic.
Last night I decided to use Virginia's LLC search functionality to learn more about the corporate structure of Games Done Quick, LLC and Mike Uyama, LLC. While Mike Uyama, LLC is validly registered and currently active, the status of Games Done Quick, LLC was set to canceled. This made me curious, so I used the state's online functionality to check if the name Games Done Quick, LLC was distinguishable. It was. So I went through the steps to form an LLC, used the name Games Done Quick, LLC, paid the $100 registration fee, and that was that. I am now the legal owner of Games Done Quick, LLC in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Your website uses the name Games Done Quick, LLC in its privacy policy in a couple of instances. This is extremely troublesome because the LLC's status was canceled prior to my new registration this morning. Where is the registration money going and in whose account is it being held? Perhaps it is in possession of Mike Uyama, LLC. This would make the most sense to me, but I think it's important for everybody to understand this, and I believe everybody who is donating has the right to know who is handling their money. It certainly couldn't have been Games Done Quick, LLC, because, as said previously, that company's status was canceled.
I'm here to do the right thing and to hand over the LLC to its proper owners, which should be Mike Uyama. We both live in the same city so I'm even willing to meet him in person about this. I still want to attend the event, though I understand if my actions will lead to a lifetime ban. That said, I really hope this serves as a bit of a lesson: you should always make sure your LLC is validly registered and active, otherwise incidents like this can, and will, occur. Though I really do want to state my concern once more: Who was responsible for holding onto the current registration money if the LLC was not active?
Thank you, and I hope you have a great day.
