Still pretty hype for this despite not making it into the marathon! I'd just like to say that I'd be available to run in the bonus stream still if you'd have me, particularly for Vanquish.
Thanks for the news post, LLCoolDave. My absence from the forum in recent months led to my ignorance that this marathon was even happening! Now that I've found out, I am very excited for it. As well, I am a huge supporter of the charity... so go Happy Tails!
To everyone who asked: Yes, there will be opportunities for anyone who didn't make it in to the main marathon to participate in the bonus stream. Priority will be given to runners who didn't get their runs in the main marathon. When filling out the original forms, people were asked which days of the bonus stream they would be able to participate in (Wednesday/Thursday/Both/Neither). I'll probably make a list (not a schedule) of runners who will get priority on those days when it comes to the stream, but it will be run on a first come, first serve basis. We had about 115 people sign up, so unfortunately a lot of really good games and runners had to be cut
Thanks everyone for your support! This is shaping up to be a really great marathon. I'm excited
Also as a sidenote: We're still looking for prizes to give away during the marathon. If anyone has something they'd like to offer (or knows someone who might), post here or send me a PM! Thanks
What a bummer i'll be out of town visiting some of my grandparents on what might be less then useable internet for stream that week D:
Anyway I was wondering will it just be vods on the channel, or will you up load to YouTube later will? ( I know its early to ask, but I figured since i'm here)
Also since my bank is kinda hinky with letting me use my card when I'm outta town I was thinking of maybe donating prior to the marathon (prizes are great, but I'd rather have the donation total be higher then be greedy and try for a prize, and risky not being able to donate), but I couldn't find a donate widget, on the page though I might not be looking hard enough.
edit* I'm not leaving till the 15th so no worries goobi, don't know why I forgot to right this down in the first place, and even if it still isn't up I'll still try to donate, I just can't promise I won't have to fight my bank to. I am looking forward to giving you guys a good comment to start of the marathon with
Either way good luck with the marathon and speedruns gentlemen and women and my you reach your goal
Can't give a definite answer on the Youtube videos. As of now, it's most likely not unless someone I know wants to go through the vods and do it, as once the marathon is over I won't have much time (plus I don't know much about doing it at all)
As far as the donation button, we don't have one up yet. We're still getting our tracker together, but as soon as we do I'll be getting the link put up on the Twitch page. Sorry for the inconvenience Hopefully I can get it up early enough in order for you to make a contribution.
Since my computer is dead I haven't been able to see that this was happening. But Caleb asked me to commentate for MMX, is that still possible? And i saw signups was closed.. And I wanted to blow up X3 ;-;
Jinny: Caleb's game is a race, and Tiki will be in the call as well as a donation comment reader, restreamer, and marathon announcer. It's likely that one of them may find commentary distracting in a race when there's already that much going on in the Mumble already, but I'll have to check with both of them. And yeah, we had to close signups a few weeks ago so we could make the schedule. We had it open for over a month so that it wasn't likely to get missed by people, but unfortunately some people still weren't able to sign up by then
I was sad too, Octary Send me a PM if you'd like to help out with any behind the scenes stuff.
The website will contain everything - donate button, (a timezone adjusted!) schedule, marathon info, charity info, prize list, incentives list, credits, chat, and most importantly... the stream. Check it out when you get a chance
romscout said you guys needed help getting the tracker set up on a server somewhere. Can whoever's going to be running the server PM me and I can try to help you get it set up? Since it's a django app there's no "one size fits all" method of setting it up, it depends on what's available on the server.
