What is it with you people and map breakage? I swear, the people in the Halo contest a year back - and some people doing Halo runs after that - were bad enough....
Enough of my ranting. In all honesty I have to say I'm impressed.
Since I haven't bothered with Fraps, though, could someone tell me if the lack of sound is standard for the unregistered version? (I can guess that the big logo up top is, yes, just not the missing sound. At least it's missing on my computer... it's not my player, because Winamp played someone else's WMV run with sound just fine.)
Magus177: If I still had them I would...but I'll try recording a demo later on today, been busy with a bunch of other (work related = more important) stuff.
But I'll record the demos and send them your way Magus, hopefully they'll turn out alright...or better...fix up all the things I did wrong with this one...
That's dope, Magus. I've already watched the teaser vid, and it's pretty cool, but I'm trying to completely abuse those sky glitches. I didn't go through that room with all the zombies. I went ontop of the building and landed right by the radio station. I don't think we've even tapped the potential of the sky glitches in that area.
Oh, and I found a new short cut in Devil's Rift. You can jump all the way down to the bottom and not take any damage by wedging yourself in a 90° crack. I know that sounds gross, but it's a nifty 10 second shortcut. Damn, this may actually go sub 10 if I try hard enough. But that's later, I have a bunch of console runs to finish up, and I'm still waiting for my dad to upgrade my windows, god damnit.
I would love for it to go up m'self, but I know that mods aren't allowed. But I dunno, would They Hunger be considered a mod? It's not really a mod of Half-Life, it's a whole new game @_@;
We'll just upload the video somewhere where people can watch it, it doesn't necessarily have to be SDA. What I'm wanting to do the most is send the .avi the creator of the game via e-mail
If you do a run of a Half-Life game please please please learn how to bunnyhop. It just grinds at me when I watch runs without it because I know it could be done strictly better.
Yes, I will be bunnyhopping my ass off in my run as best as I can for sure. You should see the beginning area how fast I go....
You were right though about my SS run, I won't be able to do a bunch of the tricks I want to do. So in the areas that I can't do those cool tricks, I've inventing new ones that are almost just as good. But then again, I still have a long time to practice, so we'll see.
