Yes, this guy runs the PS1 Versions.

Here comes the 3 new Remotes and the second last level: Samurai Night Fever. In my opinion, it's the hardest level in the game.
Each Remote must be played with a very specific timing and only one mistake on some parts can kill the run.

This is the first Remote and for me the hardest in the Game:

It's so hard, because of the shortcut @ 0:14. You must perform a perfect timed high Tail-Bounce to land on the swing. If you miss this window, you will fall off.
There are fix points. First I wait a lil bit, than I switch the camera and wait for the swing to come back.

@0:21 you can see a glitch i found out by myself. I called it Guard Glitch, because you can skip the guard fight. Normally, you must hit the guard two times on his head and then the Door opens very slowly. You see this in the TAS.
I've done a video which explain the trick a little bit more. It's important that the shuriken from the Ninja flys directly into the door.

This is the second remote:

The beginning is very easy. but @0:45 you doesn't loose any time, because if you fail, you can't do the shortcut Longjumps @0:50.
@1:10 you must wait a little bit, because the platform turns with hugh slowdowns.

and this is the last Remote of SNF:

You must play very fast at the beginning to jump on the swing without waiting. In this Remote it's very important to  take no damage, because you need your lives to do damage boost.
And in this Remote there is a very stupid Bug. It's an Elevator Bug. When you are too fast (lol ironic) the Elevator @1:19 can't be activated. This is the reason why i wait on the platform and turn around.

The Elevator Bug is shown here:

The next three Remotes are the last Remotes in the Game. The Level is called Pain in the Asteroids.
Great finds. More and more every time you post is what i like to see. This game is really broken Cheesy On a side note. Please ADD MORE HEADPHONE GIRLS to your AVATARS Cheesy

Ok and here are the last 3 Remotes in the any% Route.
Pain in the Asteroids!

First of all, i'm still very wondered about the TAS. You must collect 33 of 35 Remotes to can complete the Game. Why Mukki skips the third remote of PitA? He chose to do Rezopolis instead of PitA (3). But i don't know why!?
Let's see it in his run: Rezopolis begins @ 45:30
The whole level is timed a little bit more than 2 Minutes. It's perfect TAS gaming of course and he does luck manipulation on the blue switches. And its over 2 Minutes.

No i'll show you the Remote. which was skipped by Mukki. The first Remote in my Run:

You can see it: It's only 1:40 and it's non-TAS and without perfect playstyle from me. It's also in the same level as the other Remotes, so you must only reenter and don't go to a new level like in Rezopolis.

@0:23 there is a hugh shortcut and you must do the Jump in the right angle to let this works. The camera could be a problem, so you must learn to handle it.

The second Remote:

The first part is really easy. The only difficult part is @1:40. You can't turn the camera here and that's bullshit!!! It's so awful to jump on the platforms with this camera angle. And then it turns automaticly around when you do the last jump! This jumppart is soooo stupid!

And the last Remote in Pain in the Asteroids and the last in any%:

It's the easiest Remote of PitA, but @1:08 and 1:10 you have stupid automaticly camera switches again.

Ok for now i've show you all Remotes in any% non-TAS.
My next Post is the Final Boss. I make him an own post, because of the randomfactor. I'll discuss the boss, because it kills so many Runs and i hope that somebody could help me to find a good pattern.

@Strongfox: I'll be searching for new girls tomorrow ^^

I took a break for a few days, because i  proposed  to my girlfriend ^^ (she said "yes" btw Wink ... 4 years together)

Now i'm back with a new Headphone Avatars (her name is Super Sonico) for Strongfox and the last Bossfight.

Yeah the Bossfight. Speedrunning Gex EtG could be so cool without the random factor of the last Boss.
Here is a near perfect Bossfight first:

The problem is: This video takes me soo much trys. First phase isn't a big deal, but the second phase is random as hell.
Rez must hit the spawning "buttons" 3 times. The places, where the buttons spawn, are random. For the first two hits, you have more chance that Rez hit a button, because he attack more times from up to down.

Second Phase Rez Attackpattern
1 Round: 1 Attack from the sides & 3 Attacks from up
2 Round: 2 Attacks from the sides & 2 Attacks from up
3 Round: 3 Attacks from the sides & only 1 Attack from up

The third round is the biggest problem. With only 1 Attack from up, you must be very lucky that the button spawns  near to you. If Rez miss, round 3 will be repeated.
A very unlucky bossfight can be seen here: http://de.twitch.tv/exe_de/c/2217030 (@1:06:00) / missing the first try of second round was my fault.

I don't now if it's possible to manipulate the bossfight. Maybe a TASer could find it out, but Mukkis seems to be inactive.

Oh yes i forgot...there is another randomness in this fight:

It looks like that I'm standing on the wrong place (behind the Button), but in many runs in the past, he activated the buttons with the same method.

I hope you could help me to find a good strat for this boss. It makes me sad to cancel a good run, with unluck in this fight Sad

Haters gonna hate
I found a couple skips in Mao Tse Tongue on the remote you skip that might justify using it in a run. You can skip going through one of the buildings by messing with the sign next to the chopstick repair sign and your spring jumps gain more height, and then you can land on the sign and skip one whole segment. Another skip is where you have to kill six ninjas to make a platform appear so you can grab the wall you can climb on. If you do the extra height glitch by hugging one of the corners of the wall, you can gain just enough height to grab onto the wall, eliminating the need to kill the ninjas.

Hey very cool findings!
I played this Remote only a few times and if i realized this is a very very long Remote and also saw that Mukki skips it too, i lose the interest of this remote.
But i'll test it now again with your findings. Maybe it could exchange the first Remote in Honey I Shrunk The Gecko ( because it's the longest Remote in my Route.

Thank you very much.

Ok i've tested a bit with this skips and this is the result after ~15 Min of testing out (it could be played much cleaner, if i'm learning it for more hours). It should only show the potential.

Side note: @1:40 you can see that i do the Tail Bounce on the right sight of the door. I don't know why, but its more consistent on this side.

You can see that this remote (with mistakes) is faster than the first Remote in HISTG i posted over this post.
Ok...it's possible to do the Honey Remote faster too, but it's very difficult in a SS Run, because of playing the "turning plattforms" as quick as possible.
It's possible to skip a few parts and save a few seconds, if you hit the button to release the plattform on a perfect or near perfect frame. You can see it @2:18 (
If you hit the perfect frame you could do it @1:42 too...you fly exactly to the door. But it's so hard to do it in a SS Run. I've done this only one time before, as i practised the single remote.

So overall: MTT Remote 2 seems to be faster than HISTG Remote 1.

Thanks Mecha Richter again.

I'm plan to do a segmented Run, besides of the SS i always do in my streams.
On the next two days, i'll thinking about the best splitting of the Run.

After a small Holiday break i've redo the Remote in MTT and test a little bit to play it more consistently:

@0:39 the camera could be a big problem, because it sometimes switch in a direction you don't want. During the jump you must turn the camera two times and don't go to the left side!
@1:26 this shortcut is really tricky. I said it before, that the right side is more consistent...i was really lucky when i recorded the old MTT movie. There is only one way to get it "consistent" in most of the time. You must jump from the side and along the wall (in the same way i did it). The most difficult part is to adjust the camera. Sometimes it switch to the right. If it happens you must react on it, because your jumping angle is also different then.
But i have noticed, that it's not so important to get this on first try, if you do the second try very quickly after the first one, the Boss is not immediately in the position to shoot with the canon in both ways.

I've done a new WR today and beat my old Run by 1 Minute. The Time is 1:07:09
With the new Route (exchange 1 Remote in MTT against 1 Remote in HISTG) you can safe around 30 seconds.

This run wasn't played very well and i died two times lol. But i also has a lot of luck on the Rez fight.
Anyway there is much potential to improve this run and i'll work on it as good as i can ^^

I've found a new way to do the Smellraiser Remotes a little bit faster:

In one of the Frankensteinfeld Remotes, you can use the Knight to shortcut a little part. I've tested this in Smellraiser too and it works.

For the Bloodboiler Remote it's much more effective, because you can combined this with the Fire Ability:

So you can safe around 35 seconds in the whole level.
from PAListan
Yeah i've beat my run again and the new time is 1:04:13.

I died 2 times in SNF and lost around 1:50 there Sad

You can find the new WR here:

Hey, I just wanted to put in my support for this run. Exe, you have done such a great job with this game and I'm very interested in learning. I'll be watching these videos for a while and hopefully will do attempts in the near future, unfortunately I'm currently preparing for SGDQ and don't really want to confuse my muscle memory, so no real huge attempts for quite a while.

But I am insanely impressed with this run, well done.

I'll go to a gaming-event for the next 5 days and after this, i'll start working on a segmented Run.
I've some ideas about the segmenting and show you the final form on sunday, when i come back.

Ok i'm back from the event and now i'll show you my opinions about a segmented run:

Segment 1 - left from the startpoint -

Out of Toon

Segment 2 - right from the startpoint -

Smellraiser

Segment 3 - over and behind the startpoint -

Gecques Cousteau + Gilligex Isle (Boss 1)

Segment 4 - all levels in the middle of overworld -

Frankensteinfeld + www.dotcom. com + Mao Tse Tongue + Mooshoo Pork (Boss 2)

Segment 5 - all levels in the left part of the overworld -

Fine Tooning + The Umpire Strikes Out + Pangaea 90210

Segment 6 - all levels in the right part of the overworld -

Honey I Shrunk the Gecko + This Old Cave + Gexzilla vs. Mecharez (Boss 3)

Segment 7 - right elevator in the north side of the overworld -

Samurai Night Fever + Pain in the Asteroids

Segment 8 - left elevator in the north side of the overworld -

Channel Z (Final Boss)

So why i choose this type of segmenting?
- When you save and load you start everytime at the startpoint. It's the same way as i'm jumping into the deep in a Single-segment run, after i had complete one of the first levels.
- In a SS Run i must go across the whole overworld from Pangaea to HISTG for example. When i Save/Load the game and start from the startpoint, it's the same way.

There are only two segments, where i loose a few Seconds: After Segment 4 and after Segment 7.
After you beat Pork in a SS Run you can go directly to the right (to the plattform that brings you to Fine Tooning) and so you are a few seconds faster than on the segmented run. I've thought about put together 4 & 5 so many times, but 4 is the hardest Segment in the game and you can fail in Fine Tooning so easily (when you will play it near perfect). It also went too long. With FT at the beginning of Seg 5 you can repeat this remote so many times until you get lucky enough.
After Segment 7 and before you go to the final Boss Rez, you can jump on the right elevator after completing PitA. But it often happens, that you trigger a camera bug and then you must wait until the camera zooms in. With Save/Load you start at the Startpoint and you must only jump straight forward to reach the Rez Elevator. It's so important to make an own segment for Rez, because so i can luck manipulate this fight as good as possible.
But as i said: You loose only a few seconds and i can definitely save these seconds by playing the smaller segments more perfectly.

There is only one question about segmenting in general:

When i'm starting the game i'll turn off the voices (settings) in both runs.
If the console won't turn off, you will not do this settings again, even when you save/load the game and try the next segment!
You must only redo this setting, if you turn off/reset the console.
So my question: It is important to set the voices to off everytime i do a segment? Must i do this before i'm loading the save file or after that?

Yeah i've found a new skip in one of the Pain in the Asteroid Remotes:

It's a little bit tricky, but you can't fail so hard if you missed it first try (unlike in the first SNF Remote for example, where you die if you miss the jump on the swing) and it safes around 25 seconds!
Even more headphone swag please, i want more lol... Great find and last time i forgot to say great work on the wr

@0:52 This shortcut saves 10-15 seconds

Another little shortcut in Pain in the Asteroids was found by Reece (He play the PS1 Version) and with my shortcut, this Remote is very short now:

I'm not dead ^^

I had recorded the first 2 Segments, but found out a little timesaver in Smellraiser and must do this segment again.
I'll upload OutofToon together with Segment 2 and 3.

Today i tried Fullruns with the new tricks i found out in the last weeks and beat my WR with a 1:03:34.
But this run make me not happy, because it's very sloppy in the beginning/middle part Sad
I won't reset and that was the first Run of the evening. Some new tricks work badly on the fullrun so i must practise this much more.
The Problem is, that i only play the first segments for now and can't practise enough the later parts.
I'll work on a cleaner run and hope i can get one soon. ^^

here is the run from this evening: http://www.twitch.tv/exe_de/c/2561516
Couldn't find a gex 3 thread, so I might as well post this here instead of making a pointless thread about 1 glitch.

So Crash41596 i managed that this Thread is for both games. So your post aren't a problem anymore (it wasn't a problem in the past ;))

I must find a way to manipulate the last Bossfight. It's so random and maybe there is a glitch or trick or something to do this fight more successful.
Otherwise this happend again and again and again:
