Absolutely amazing. Essentia is my new heroine. I can't wait to see the final product.

This is the first time a single-segment FF run has been done in general, is it not?
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
This has been one of my most anticipated runs for a long time, congratulations!  Grin
Yeah, I said it.

Did I call it or what? I knew you could avoid the Dinosaur Forest altogether. Wink

Yep, and I fought only one battle in the Maranda desert. Smiley
Yep yep yep!
This is awesome.

Amazing work, Essentia!  I can't wait to see it.

Everything's better with Magitek
Just finished watching the entire run to make sure it recorded correctly and everything.  Like I said before, there were no big mistakes in it, but there was one part that really made me cringe because of bad luck: fish catching.  I saved Cid, because it is almost always faster to do so, but I had terrible luck with the fish.  I timed it, just to see how much longer it took: normally it takes around 2:10 to save Cid, but here it took 5:14...more than 3 minutes slower Cry  This time it was definitely slower than just letting him die; I took a chance, and it didn't pay off.  However, it seems that I was lucky enough in other places (mainly in battles, which can take up a lot of time if I get unlucky), that it made up for the fish catching part.  I'm not going to redo the run, anyway; you'll just have to bear through that part of the run when you watch it.

I'm typing up my comments right now, so hopefully this should go on the verifier list soon.
Hi! I'm andrewg!
Is it insanely long? Like >10 hours? Maybe I don't know this game well enough.

You mean the final time for the run?  The final time is somewhere around 4:48, which beats the current segmented time by about 38 minutes.
Hi! I'm andrewg!
Really!? That's really good. Congrats! Smiley

Whew!  Finally finished my comments, and this is on the verifier list now!  In the words of Mike:

I know I'm a little late on this, but really great job with the time. For a FF game, that's incredible, especially for a SS run. Can't wait to see further works of yours Smiley

Of course there have never been any SS of VI, it's the first recorded SS speedrun of any Final Fantasy in history afaik.
Everything's better with Magitek
Yeah, because nobody's as crazy as I am to try doing a Final Fantasy SS. Wink
