I still like the SDA one, it makes you think "sda". Nate's one makes me think "iPod commercial?". But it doesn't really matter, I don't use icons.

That's kind of the idea.

Speed is the key.
I've noticed that the favicon.ico is now in use.
I didn't really like it at first, but I must say that it looks pretty good.  :cheers:
agreed. nothing like opening 4384832342 forum threads in tabs and watching cute little hustling quake guys spawn all over the place. B)

Mozilla/SeaMonkey do not attempt to grab the /favicon.ico by default, because that behaviour leads to 404's in the webserver-logs for sites without that icon.
That can be overridden by setting "browser.chrome.favicons" to true, but it'd be easier and cleaner if you'd just link the icon in your html code as it's supposed to be done:

<head>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico">
</head>

could you add it please? Smiley

Ya, I'm using Mozilla and I don't see it.
imo this is radix's call ...  i wasn't even aware there were browsers that support it that don't attempt to get it by default.

It's working for me...    Cheesy
give me your eyes!!!
I don't have it, and I have no idea whether I'm using Firefox or not but I'm assuming not...
I thought it was just a surprise party!
I'm using FireFox, and it didn't appear for me until I cleared my history & cache.

LOL, this is priceless!

If you are using Mozilla/Firefox/derivative, make sure browser.chrome.favicons is set to true in about:config

Edit: Whoops, Tub said this already. Well, people might not know about about:config anyway.
I have Fury!

I agree, what is with the ipod?  The acronym itself seems to represent SDA more than the quake guy, I hardly even notice him anymore.

And that's why they call you weird!  Wink

Remember the roots, dude.
I like this site name cause it's easy to remember.
OK, but I've never played Quake (am I the only one? just asking), so I much prefer the ones that say "SDA" because the Quake guy has no meaning to me. It's true that SDA used to be about Quake, but it's not at all part of the main site now, so it doesn't seem to fit. But whatever. I'm using Mozilla and can't find about:config, so it doesn't really matter to me.

You type it into the address bar (instead of speeddemosarchive.com or whatever). The other useful one is about:plugins, about: is blah, and about:mozilla is an easter egg that is kinda neat once.
