Honestly no idea, I'm not surprised the dialogue system is fucked in some way. Just try to make sure he doesnt walk away somehow, no clue.

"-The Deathclaw always camped to the left out of my view, so i had to get the armor and kill it in order to continue." What? Why didnt you just walk up to him?

"-After killing Kellog, i had some trouble getting the right dialogue from Nick. He always did the dialogue from when you normally come to DC after you save him."
Weird, no idea, might be console differences. Are you sure you saved him before killing kellog? And talked to him outside of vault 114?

Tried to corner him with fences but still nothing worked.

Regarding the death claw -> It sounded like you killed all raiders AND the deathclaw from the balcony, so naturally that's what i tried. When i walked up to him to get him out of his camping spot, it grabed me and 1HK me. Guess thats just bad luck.

And yup, i did everything exactly like you wrote it :S
Regarding console differences, i really cant imagine that. Why would they implement another conversation handler just for consoles? Thats a lot of work for no reason ^^
Guess i will have to start all over again and see how often this happens.

Okay, i played through everything again and again, i cant finish the settlers quest hence i cant get to the institute. Its stuck on the same dialogue again. When i get back home i will need to do another run, and try'n figure out why this happens so we can avoid it. Its really really annoying because you're already through most of the game and all your time is simply wasted

Also, do we have a backup strat for when you dont drop / get a biometric sensor yet? Iirc, when we go to kellog early there are no turrets outside, and inside is only one. The other options are: General vendor in DC and Goodneighbour. So, what if RNG strikes and we dont get one? Happened to me on my last playthrough.

Ive never seen myrna or the robot not have a biometric scanner in DC so haven't really planned for it.

SADX Runner
So idk if this has been discussed yet, but the whole elevation glitch can be used to rapidly gain speed horizontally as well. This goes at least twice as fast as sprinting and requires no AP. I haven't distinguished if you need a vertical wall for it too push you across the map yet, but im sure theres some items/strategies that consistently work at pushing the player character at incredibly high speeds. Since this is not taken into account in  the routing, I figure 5-10 minutes AT LEAST can be saved from this. Think of this as your general form of movement across the wasteland if we find a consistent way to do it.

I've noticed that as well, but havent figured out a way to use it so far :S
Anyway, i think i have an idea what caused my game to get "stuck" after the settler quest. Am in the process of testing this and will update with results.

Okay, it seems like the Vault 111 skip fucks things up for me. If someone could do a testrun to confirm this for me, that would be awesome. If i do that skip i cant hand in the settlers quest later, if i dont do the skip, everything works like a charm

Can the pipboy companion app be used for runs? Can you have a friend managing the pipboy app while you manage keyboard inputs? Seems that you could save a lot of time not having to open up your pipboy to equip items, set hotkeys, and fast travel. Not to mention having a live map.

Arctice:
Maybe, but only as a variable. It's a pretty bullshit method that's only available to some, AND dependant on your internet connection, on top of that it doesn't change anything in the route unless glitches using it are found, so there is absolutely no reason to have a separate category for it.

DrTChops:
I'm kind of indifferent towards it, but leaning towards not allowing it since it's not available to all and doesn't do anything interesting anyway.

Both are mods for Fallout 4 over at speedrun.com

And i personally agree with them. It may be useful, but its not available to all, especially when you have a 2nd person doing the item management

Edit:

It's now officially not allowed to use
Fond this. Dunno how handy it is, but it might lead to something.
Hey all. Got interested in speedrunning this game after I beat it the first time. Been trying to find new glitches and whatnot. Just wondering if there is a better place to be posting any discoveries I have found (when I find them!). For now I do have a bit of info. It seems you do NOT need to sell all but 1 ammo in the shop glitch. I just hold left for a bit (about 30 or so ammo), sell that back. Then go to sell remaining amount. It should leave you with like 13-24 ammo left that you can spam sell like before. Just speeds up the process in which you can reach desired amount of caps to clear out inventories.
Also, what do most people use to screen cap so I can upload glitches when I find them?

that depends, what are you playing on? PC? Console?

Also, i actually wanted to wait for DrTChops to post his discovery, but he must've forgotten :S
Anyway, current status is: We have a wall / door clip and we have a sequence break (found by DrT)

Here are the vids:

I gotta have a look at this later, but for now i will keep that in mind and maybe play around with it a little. But at the moment i dont know what we could need it for :S Still, since this run
changes every day or so, its useful to keep that in mind
I like using the speedrun.com forum as it's easier to keep organised: http://www.speedrun.com/Fallout_4/forum
