Hi
Well, this just released yesterday, but there's probably some good run potential in it.

Here's some small optimizations I've noted with about 2 hours playtime so far:

In the Colosseum, you want to finish your first 2 matches as close to the start position as possible, otherwise you have to walk back there after each round. However, the last round (vs. Menos) I think you want to end close to the exit.

When you have to escape the town, since you lose roughly all your money, buy the sugar, tea and whiskey before going to the inn is you can, also note any money chests you could pick up while spreading rumors. (this needs checking/testing.) Being a maid seems to be the fastest job, and if you buy stuff first and get chests after, you might be able to leave town in one day. (edit: Fastest job if you can get 150 at once, the orphanage is way faster but only gives 80g)

Anyway, I look forward to hopefully running this, though I doubt they'll be major skips like the first game.
Thread title:
A little exploit:

If you get the maid job, receive 40g and then go to the Inn you can reset the day, get 40g again and repeat. Good way to get money, I don't know if it's faster than the other methods though.
Beat me to it, I was about to post this thread myself. Seems like they fixed a lot of the engine exploits, but the game itself is definitely glitchy, and its more noticeable the further you go. Especially Giro's Laboratory (which you can skip a few fights in btw depending on where you walk), sometimes the game just decides to freeze and not let you keep fighting, I think it has something to do with killing a mob or your character dying right when it/you are about to make an attack. Something to be wary about. More later

We can always use day one patch :p

E: At the arena I got Menos to glitch stuck in a corner forever, but I couldn't damage him, only after I moved that he restarted his attacks
I got chain grabbed to death in a corner in the Street Fighter fight against the second form of the cult leader XD. Wonder if you could do that to him instead....
First major discussion should probably be if we're going to do the run on easy or normal...I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and if easy is much easier than that I fear the game might be a bit too boring, while normal might be a good balance between the two for speedrunning purposes.
Hi
Okay, Street Fighter control explanation for those who want it or just mashed buttons to get through. (you're basically Ryu)

attack = punch
action = kick (crouching kick is a slide)
grab = both buttons next to opponent (I did not successfully throw behind first run, but you probably can)
jump = up or up back or up forward
dash forward/dash back = doubletap forward/back
block = press backward (back down diagonal to block low)
Hadouken = quartercircle forward + attack (punch)
Tatsu (spin kick) = quartercircle back + action (kick) (I didn't check this in the air, but assume you can since Ryu can)
Shoryuken = downward dragon punch input (downward "Z" or more accurately down>forward>diagonal down-forward)
Super (with full bar) = two quartercircles forward +attack (punch)

Super is really good damage, you should probably use it every round since the CPU seems to not block is well.
I have no idea if you can tech the ground.
IMO the controls for specials are a bit more finicky than USF4, at least playing both with gamepad.

I just finished the fighting game portion due to some wandering around and exploring and basically noting stuff to test.
(edit: added a couple things)
Yeah, the super is rather good. Also I found the super worked out by only spamming punch kick punch kick, without even needing to touch the analog.

There's a skip in the left wing of the thief boss' dungeon. You can angle yourself so that when you use Fina's ranged attack you can get around the Thwomp looking thing and hit the wheel that rotates the bridges and takes you straight to the gem skipping some puzzling and a boss fight.

e: You skip the blob miniboss, not Jatai.
I'm playing on easy and it's not hard to die to some bosses, specially when you play recklessly. The only thing against this game imo is the absurd amount of dialogue windows, it's worse than any RPG lol
Yeah, I agree Penta, the time spent text mashing and waiting for people to slowly walk places in this game is going to be a little ridiculous, though a lot of dialogue in a normal playthrough (talking to unecessary people etc) can be skipped through, there's still a healthy portion that can't. That said, routing the latter half of the game is looking like it'll be rather interesting. Easy will probably be the way to go though, because of reasons I won't spoil yet XD.

@Clay: Nice find, I also noticed that grizzly mountain is pretty broken for her as well, you can hit the switches through the rocks and angle correctly to get her to hit the mammuts from the top angle, making one of the puzzles go a bit quicker.
Fastest way to down the street fighter section is to use Tastu (quarter circle back + kick). You can burn through the boss pretty quickly and it builds meter like crazy so you can super (double quarter circle forward + punch)

When entering the Viking village on the frozen island, there is a non-solid wall in the registration building (just to the left of the counter) allowing you to go out of bounds and skip roughly three areas as well as a miniboss and just go straight to the boss for the item you then trade to for the Fragment.

Basically, you skip the entire work for the fragment with the exception of beating the boss. OoB is mean in this game and walls usually also block you from getting back in bounds.
Here's that video:

Mind you, it's unedited so the fight itself's still in there as well as a bunch of stuff to show that the game is in the state before defeating the troll.

On a quick note, you might want to not walk down once you enter the chief's room from out of bounds, as it'll trigger a long dialogue and when leaving the room, you should absolutely not leave through the chief's door, as it will softlock you and render your save unusable. To explain: When you leave through that door, you will be teleported into the viking blocking it from the outside, you're unable to move and the game will save at that point.

Possibily the right part of the dungeon is also skippable, I'm not sure because I tested with an end game save, but I could hit the lever with level 2 Fina attack from the initial stairs of that part
I finished the game last night (well, the Ending stuff redscreened on me, but close enough), going to throw up a stream while I work on routing in a little bit
So, routed up through the pirate dunegon, a few notes.

1) Screw the ninja squirrels.
2) Genova Past looks like its fastest to grab tea and whisky from the shop, then just do the maid sidequest. Need to do some futher testing to figure out exactly how many people actually need to be talked to to reduce time waste.
3) Right now what I'm doing for levels is trying to hit 3 by the end of Grizzly Hills, then, in the Haunted Woods, doing a few rounds of farming the zombies at the second ghost (where 6 of them spawn) to level 6, and then making it to level 8 by the end.
4) In addition, I think trying to get 200G for the Bronze sword in the Demon Camp may be useful as well
5) Finally, either they patched the Ice Skip already (BOO) or you can't do it after you've beaten whats his face

Pretty sure they fixed the wall in the chief's room in one of the more recent patches. I did maage to get in by going out of bounds from the registration building (since the wall in there apparently still isn't solid) and then exiting through the chief's door. When you get stuck on the guard, it seems to be possible to get unstuck when you quit and reload the save while moving, so I did manage to get back into the house and fight the snowman but getting out the other way seems either way more difficult or flat out impossible. I'll play around with it some more, see if there isn't a way I can clip through and into freedom.
Oh well, I guess that's roughly another 15-20 minutes the game got back if I don't manage to find a way.

From what you guys are saying, v1.0.8906 (first I have here) might be the one to keep for runs

I don't get crashes very often (had the red message stuff 1 time during the entire playthrough and then 2 more times while trying glitches)

Managed to lock my game up during the Plum fight with the mega bombs. Not sure why or how it did it. Plum's stuck walking in place and I'm unable to perform any actions.

e: did it again. I think it involves the push from your bombs shoving Plum into a wall, causing a lock. Definitely annoying and potential run killer.

e2: Starting to run into a very annoying number of locks. During one of the fights in Giro's lab, it locked up. Paused, went to quit, and the game gave me two cursors. When I went to hit yes, it just turned off the music. Have to process kill it to restart.

Giro's lab was easily the buggiest for me, after messing with it a bit I'm pretty certain it has to do with something dying after it has selected an action to perform, it just locks up the game. I had to restart the lab a few times in my casual playthrough.

I also got a softlock in the Tactics section from knocking back a unit into one of my own with Menos, it wouldn't let me select my unit and you can't end the turn manually, so I had to exit and restart the level.

I'm torn, I want the the OoB skip for ice fragment so badly, yet I also want to run a game that has less chance to crash/redscreen/softlock. Maybe I'll send in a petition to Shiro to unblock John Snows room ;).

EDIT: Shot an email to Shiro, we'll see if they read or respond to it.

I wouldn't expect much...for Evoland 1 I sent an email for them to fix the graphical and lag glitches and they never answered or fixed the issues.

I'll use the first patch for routing I can try to upload somewhere if you guys want.

Could someone try to reproduce this? http://steamcommunity.com/app/359310/discussions/0/527273789692811761/

Edit: I got it, it has to do with the screen scrolling, you jump on the ladder and try to climb it before the screen scrolls up while attacking fast.

Edit2: Bomberman area may have some mining cart skipping http://steamcommunity.com/app/359310/discussions/0/527273789693388999/
Well, after poking around with ZanderGothSRL, we found out there are 4 orikon you can get before haunted forest...so basically as soon as you have access to the smithy you can get an orikon sword. This makes everything other than windy valley a breeze (rather underleveled so you die quickly), and you then get to catch up in levels at the Shmup section (Going from like ~lvl 7 to ~lvl 14 by the end).

Also, you can go up ladders quickly in platformer mode by spamming alternating attack and jump, the camera takes some time to catch up, but its a much quicker way of climbing ladders.
I'm not entirely sure this skip has been mentioned yet, but you can skip part of the sewers:

I didn't find it, just happened upon the video.

As for softlocks, I can't even count how many times I've had the game softlock. I know I had it happen during the Menos fight in the coliseum, countless times in the lab, during the tactical section, and some others. I haven't done a whole lot of routing with the game yet, but I'll look since the game interests me (provided it doesn't softlock and crash all the time).

Yeah, I knew of this skip, but unfortunately thats the side the orikon is on, and the minute or so taken to get that orikon is way worth it. If there's another one you can get before the haunted forest then it might be useful again, but I'm not entirely certain where all the orikon are.

EDIT: Trying to plan out the lategame...does anyone know where Menos' tier 3/summon is? Also anyone with a good list of easy to find/get Maana would be super helpful.

Isn't Menos' tier 3 when you go to the site of the Demonia temple in the future (3d/whateveryearthatis)?

I can look for some more Maana locations, but I know a super easy one to get is right before you port back to get the fragment of time in the windy valley.

Here's a slightly-useless incomplete stat-table (they are static at levels):

1: 10/10/30
2: 12/11/33
3: 13/12/35
4: 14/14/39
5: 16/16/40

EDIT: A couple more easy maana notes I took:
- In the Ice Cavern during 3D time (use Velvet special to go across water)
- In the windy valley during 3D time before you go to fragment of time (left side)
- In Viking Village (past) top right.
- Caverns of Noria (past) shortly after beginning there are high jumps right side, spiders
