I've confirmed that you can do the "dry storage" glitch with rocks:

In addition, you can do the trick with a Simian Slam instead of an aerial attack, as shown in the video. You can also use a Simian Slam when you're doing the trick with a barrel.

For Japes: The DK blast barrel course/blueprint. Before tagging Lanky to go into his Japes 2 stuff get DK's stuff. I'm pretty sure the extra exit warp is faster than rolling out of the tunnel.

For Aztec: Tiny's blueprint(maybe) and DK's five door temple GB.
DK's GB in front of llama cage.
Aztec lobby GB.(so much easier to grab with ponytail twirl)
My current Aztec 2 route is way different from the one in the existing route.

DK Isles: Get the DK GB after factory by dropping down. This allows you to climb up with moontail instead of moonkick which is faster

New non-specific AZTEC 2 Route.

1. Enter with whoever and tag Lanky.
2. Go do bird shooting game getting battle crown and bananas.
3. Exit warp.
4. Tag DK in main area and get GB/regular bananas.
5. Tag Tiny in main area and get her mini klaptrap murder GB and regular bananas.
6. Leave temple and go to Crankys getting blueprint Use W2 and go backwards getting the bananas.
7. Tag Chunky and get all his stuff in usual order.
8. Tag Diddy and follow normal route up through activating 5 door temple.
9. Do 5 door temple in sequence up till exit warping with Tiny.
10. Use W2 and go do Tiny's beetle race stuff.
11. Get chunkys 3 regular bananas and run to llama temple with DK.
12. Do llama temple stuff and then finish 5 door temple.
That is the general idea of how to add the extra stuff in. DK's 5 door temple will come after getting his stealthy snoop banana. It may be faster to break in using the strong kong invincibility as opposed to shooting the switch.
If done correctly...
I'm not sure if dry storage could make this more convenient or not, but I found a way to stack floating boulders. I'm not sure if this has been found before, but I'll show it anyways:

New 101% Record today, I was extremely happy with this run. Nothing really went wrong, taking a break from it for now though.

I saw a chunk of that run, and it looked really solid, considering the length of the game. Congrats on the new record and amazing improvement!!! Smiley
Pheenoh the mean-o
Sad I missed this, but that time is so incredible. Well done cfox!! Smiley
Ready? Set...
Congrats, cfox7!

Now that you've beat the current 101% run by almost 2 hours, are you going to submit the run or do you have a new goal time in particular before submission?
I was thinking about submission, but I have no idea on how to do it lol. I'll wait until the end of the summer to submit anyways just in case I decide to try again or if I can optimize the route a bit more.
I didn't see the entire run (and the parts I did see on your stream were AMAZING) but were there any major mistakes that could save over 10 minutes? In other words, do you think getting sub-7-hours could be viable (without the cost of your sanity of course)?

If so, I'd say hold back on submission for now, and try again in a bit or something. But really, I'm not the one who's been doing these 7-hour speedruns recently so honestly it's not my place to say. Needless to say, I look forward to watching your current WR, so again, congratulations! Smiley
Honestly, sub 7 would be insane I think, Ill have to rewatch the run but there were not really any mistakes, At least not 10 min. worth. I'll keep doing runs now and again this summer but idk if sub 7 will happen

@cfox: I saw probably the last 90 minutes of your run after work yesterday and I wanted to say that you did an amazing job. i can't wait to see the rest of the run. If I were you I would submit your current run now regardless of your future plans just to get an improvement up on the site as soon as possible.

The segmented 101% is suspended. In order for the quality to be superior enough to cfoxs 7:10 it would pretty much have to be sub 7 hours, and while I am pretty sure that it is possible I don't have anywhere near enough free time for that right now.
I probably wont be uploaded this one to youtube just because of all the trouble it caused me last time, but you can always go to my page and look at archived videos for it. I will try to submit this run I think. I just am not even sure how to or if my recording is good enough for them to accept it.

To submit the run, follow the instructions on this page. I'm not sure what format your video is in, but you can ask for help on Tech Support.
Ok ill check that out. Also for the last trick in that video you posted, I'm assuming you went into Helm with Key 8 Already? That's how you fought K. Rool right after?

Who needs sanity, save verifiers? Wink

Congrats on the run ^^ I'll probably never see it apiece though … at least not before September o.o

Yeah, I had already turned in keys 3 and 8. I also entered the K. Rool fight and exited so I would have the shorter intro when the countdown was going.
Oh ok, I thought you had skipped key 8 and was like 0.0 lol

After coming back to SDA after being away for a few years, it's good to see that people are working to beat my crappy 101% run! 7:10 is a definite improvement. Given the game's constant auto-saving, you must have been on top of things the whole time.

As for my run, that summer I did it I basically had very little time to get it done before I had to back to school. I was able to plan a route and follow it, but I really wish I could have re-ran the run. (Especially my abysmal DK Arcade performance.)

Nonetheless, I'm glad I was able to set a goal for people to work towards so that this game would eventually get a proper, well-executed 101% run. I look forward to seeing it whenever it gets posted!

If you decide to go sub-7:10, good luck not getting bit in the ass by the auto-saving. Smiley

Hey, I didn't expect to see you posting again. Look on the bright side: you still beat Wouter by almost five hours. Tongue

hey Lefty, how different are your individual level routes from the one in this forum linked earlier? I'm going to try to go through the entire route this week and the next and make some changes if i can. I think cutting 7 would be possible but it will be difficult and require alot of optimization

0% / 0 Banana finally possible! At least theoretically...doing this without savestates is going to be really, really hard.
