I need to extend the estimate of Chrono Cross due to finding several new and interesting ways for the game to troll me. I'm going to say adding 30 minutes is fine? If we get royally screwed by random stat gains, it can result in a time loss on a lot of bosses. I'm not really ever in danger of game overs since I can run from any fight, but that will also give me time to make backup "in case of the power goes out" saves during the run as well.
Chrono Cross is now 9:00:00 and Crystal Bearers is now 4:45:00.
Now I'm hoping that some of our other estimates are pretty conservative. Otherwise, we're going to be pushing the bounds of how long the event can be. If anyone thinks that they have some conservative estimates for their games, please let me know. Otherwise, I might need to cut an hour or so of stuff -- which I really, really do not want to do with so little time left to go until the event.
No need to be sorry, VG! I'd rather have good estimates for the games, so we can keep on-schedule
I'm honestly just checking if anyone is sitting on a really conservative estimate that might be able to be taken back. For example, I'm considering trimming the 1:30:00 for FFA back to 1:20:00. I'll practice more this week and see how reliable that could be.
How are we going to handle mercy kills? If our schedule really is that strict with the marathon room we can't really afford to get far behind schedule, right?
I highly doubt they'll actually kick us out at midnight. It's not like they have a reservation for this banquet room queued up for a 1:00 am ballroom dance
Mercy kills will be the standard "you didn't practice" kill. Bad luck won't result in a mercy kill unless it's truly beyond ridiculous.
I just certainly will not be adding anything else to the schedule, and I'm going to be a little leery about donation incentives that add significant amounts of time that aren't already factored into the schedule.

Well, Legend of Mana could potentially be way under estimate or near estimate, depending on the route. Dragon is about 2 hrs, Faerie a little over. The only reason for the 3 hour estimate is Jumi. I'd personally rather have all 3 as an option (since Jumi is the best storyline) but if need be, we could cut that as an option.
SO4 could probably be trimmed back to 3:45 or even 3:30 if needed. I've kept it at 4:00 for now in case of shit hits the fan moments from bosses just giving me pure BS on RNG.
Dragon Fantasy Book can DEFINITELY be trimmed down to 10 minutes. I know it's only 5 minutes but hey, 5 minutes is 5 minutes, right?
IoG can be cut down to 2:50 - have yet to go over 2:25 even in practice runs with multiple deaths; and the ending is about 20 minutes.
KH2 can probably be lowered as well, though it'll be a week or two before I have a better estimate (the route has changed quite a bit since I last actively ran the game, and I'm still learning the new strats for specific battles before graduating to full game runs).
Poxnor: WA4 can probably be cut to 5:30:00. I'll be doing a practice run tonight if possible just to get the new movement tricks down. But I should be able to hit about 5:15-5:20 consistently is my goal in time for the marathon. I don't want to say any more than that since I haven't been able to hit below 5:30:00 as consistently as I would like.
I was planning on asking you to remove Ultima Underworld II from the list, as I still haven't got enough practice in for it and I'm so stressed at the moment that I don't want to add anything else. I think Ultima and Ultima Underworld is enough for me, thanks.
Made all the adjustments, except I didn't want to shave a full hour off FF7. I split the difference and said 9:30:00 is probably good for a marathon (unless you think that's still excessive, Cara).
Sadly, with Withhelde being unable to make it, we now actually are just a pinch short. But, I'd rather be a little short than too long; it'll help us stay on-schedule more easily.
Current Estimate for Suikoden is 5:45:00. This can be brought down to maybe somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30. I'd go 5:15 to pretty much guarantee beating the estimate. My PB for 108 stars right now is 4:26 but the run last night had horrible luck on pretty much every single random element in the game and ended up coming in at 5:12. I don't see runs being any worse than that. I'd say about 90% chance the run ends in under 5 hours so a 5:15 estimate should be plenty. The FFX-2 Estimate May change once I fine tune the menus a bit. I will update that when I do some more testing. Currently that is what I will be working on for the best part of the rest of the month since Suikoden and Mystic Quest are pretty much Marathon ready.
FFX-2 Estimate should be raised a bit though. The current WR is 2:54:02 only 6 mins less than the estimate. I would put estimate at 3:30. My past 2 runs have been in the 3:06-3:07 range. So that gives me a good window to get under estimate in case something goes wrong. Can happen since a good majority of the run requires me to be in low health and 1 auto on Yuna will force me to use phoenix downs and take up time. Since the Suikoden estimate can be 30 minutes sooner, the total time loss/gain is back to 0.
Just making a quick request, can I be removed from Chrono Trigger commentary and help commentate FFVI instead? I'm just worried with having CT and FFVII so close together that I will spread myself too thin and not give each runner and game the stunning commentary they each deserve.
Can anyone either write up, or point me to, an idiot's guide to configuring OBS to both stream and record?
The recording quality should be, roughly, 120 hours for less than 500 GB. Streaming quality should be good enough that you'd watch it for, well, a marathon.
I've never used OBS, so a very easy-to-follow guide would be a great thing.
