I also can't wait to see this run. Is it going to be posted as a download, that can be opened in a program such as windows media player?

If you go to the SDA home page, you'll find links in the games list and also at the top of the news page. It is better to 'right click -> 'save target as'' rather than opening it in a media player though.

Downloading now, I've played it a bit elsewhere ages ago and I'm looking forward to it!

Just finished watching, nice Speedrun Smiley

I'm not really sure what more to say about it, well maybe 2 things.

1. Why (Especially in the beginning of the Run) did you move the camera up and down while jumping (And sometimes not even while jumping)? Was it for some kind of entertainment or speed purposes? Smiley

2. Why did you stop for a moment before you ran up the first spiral staircase with Haste (That was nice to see, so was the other staircase ;))?
give me your eyes!!!
Oh all right then. The routes are fairly straight-forward of course but the little shortcuts and early dialogue skips and general very tight gameplay were really enjoyable to watch.

I never saw haste being used (nice message!) so I don't know how easy it is to control but the precision movement at high speed are what made this run for me. If anything you played better with haste than without it, but definitely a great job overall!
Run like hell!
Hi everybody!
I'm from Hungary, and I have an interesting question:
-How many amplifiers are hidden in the game?
I found 31, but i think, there are 32, because if you have 32, you can max. out all spells in the game.
Somebody knows the exact locations of all of the amplifiers?

1.) Neither nor. I'd say I just was bored. Re-Wacthing the run afterall made me think it was quite annoying. First of all I did it, I think, because I thought jumping a bit more "upwards" would made the jump longer and therefore bring some speed. But jumping and running as well as in normal as in hasted mode seems to be quite equal no matter what you do.

Jumping can be faster uphill as I did in the last segments, but in general I jumped everytime I got bored. Smiley

2.) Because otherwise, I would have lost haste while on the stairs, and this scene is so difficult to handle that I was not able to recognize the stop of haste and re-adjusting the stair-movement at the same time. So I waited until haste was over, restarted it and everything went on fine.

Well this was my first run..So maybe it could look a bit laggy or maybe I do some "unsure" movements, but overall haste isn't very hard to control, if you know the game and don't lose attention. Segmenting made it all much easier, of course. Smiley

Maybe anyone will re-run that game and do some better job and make it look much more fluently. Smiley Duno...But afterall I'm happy with my result. Smiley

Esrohnoil:

If have no Idea how mayn amps you're able to collect during the game..as you can see in my run I collect just the 4 I need.

But I know there's one very hidden in a water-playing game I think in 2nd Oneiros...
Run like hell!
Water-playing game? Where? I can't remember now... Cheesy
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
In that kissinger realm, in the lev with the many many appear-when-close floorblocks. It's possible to skip nearly the entire thing.
At the very beginning of the lev turn right, then jump down to where the magic floorblocks end, and you're basically already there, you lose about 70 hp (on medium skill).
Ofcourse, with haste it all goes so fast, it's not many secs.

Cool ;-)

One more reason ro re-run that game. Maybe sub 1-hour is possible, then.

As said, I'm not going to re-run it, I'm sick of running Undying now. Smiley

But anyone is very very welcome to re-run that game and I'll do my best to support him/her ! Wink

Esaro:

I don't know where exactly. Found it once by random. It's quite funny. Just search the whole game..:-)...Or run it! Wink
Run like hell!
I collected an amplifier from a water-game, where the water rises as you shoot false buttons, and if you shoot the right buttons, the platform rises a bit... but there is not in the 2nd visit in Oneiros, its in the territory of the present Monastery.

That sounds like it.

Okay I can make a list of amps I know of:

1.) one in That game we talked about

2.) One on the balkony in the botany when the eight howlers attack you

3.) One on the roof of past monastery

4.) One on the way in a Tunnel thgrough the catacombs

5.) One on the roof of 2nd Oneiros entrance

6.) One guarded by the giant hound in 2nd Oneiros

7.) One downstairs near in the canalisation where the bridge is

8.) One Aaaron guards

9.) I think one in the cathedral (where you get ether traps) ..? Not sure

10.) One on a platform in 2nd Oneiros

That's all i now can remember, perhaps your lost amp was in this list..?

No matter, You'll sure find it if it exists.

Boo.
I must say I never  played the game, so I can't comment on details but it was nonetheless enjoyable to watch. The game world seems very large and you hop around it in record time.

I must say that the run became easier to watch when you got haste, as you jump constantly before that and every time character jumps he makes a sort of gagging noise. That combined with a fast moving camera was rather eh, special Wink

All in all, entertaining and good looking, well done!
Run like hell!
I collected 23 amplifiers to the point where Patrick first met with Ambrose in the Pirates cave-system.
But still don't know where is the missing amp. Before, or after this point... (Maybe its not important, but i need only 1 amp at this point to maximize the effects of the collected 6 spells.)
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Wooo!

I don't come here every day anymore but I figured maybe early November was about right and so it is..

Download almost finished, can't wait to see this.  Neth has kept some shortcuts secret until now.. let's see what he had in mind.

First you all want this run

and now you don't comment on it. -.-

Moaimullet..? Haploid..? You two were the one who waited most for the run, and now you keep silent. I want to discuss the run. Smiley
Amoebe
I wanted to try the game myself again after your run, to try the things you've been doing myself and see if I can find a quicker route for some things, but I haven't got around to it. New job, busy time.

The run you did looks pretty good up to the point where you get Haste, and looks simply amazing after. Haste is the reason I wanted to see this run. It's so much fun to look at you whizzing through levels at blinding speed. Weeeee!

Some random observations:
- Constant loading and scene transitions are pretty dizzying at times. Sometimes less than a second between doors. Not your fault, of course.
- The fight against the abbot is nice and clean. Going up the ladder backwards, very nice. Smiley
- I love that little jump towards Lizbeth that you managed to put into the cutscene.
- Too bad Lizbeth makes you wait in her game with the gates. Would be nice to have a shortcut past that part.
- Jumping down into the boat looks nice.
- Pity about the two second pause before you do it, but the run up the lighthouse circular stairs looks good, and I'm sure you had a blast doing it. Smiley
- Likewise for the stairs in the caves. You picked a different approach for those stairs, not sure why.
- You manage to skip a cutscene moments before the Ambrose battle, with the cook's wife (I think). Why is that one skippable?
- Around the 1 hour marker, there's a part where you choose to float above two of those shaman spearthrower guys. What's the point of floating above them?
- The fight against Bethany is very strong. I remember this as one of the tougher fights to get around, and you just do it all right.
- You can beat the undead king with regular weapons. If I recall right, I did him with skull storm mostly. No doubt the scythe is faster, though.
Run like hell!
A little comment about the run:
Maybe you can go quicker, when you cast Haste before the spell effect runs out, not after it, because you can cast while you move. The mana regenerates back quicker, than the time-period of the spell effect.

Hm, maybe I will search the whole game after the amplifiers, when i play it next...

because its another stair..That one in the lighthouse is more tight. The pause was unneccessary. Big mistake.

Some cutscenes are skipable, some are not.

That's explained in my comments. Smiley They don't keep beaming around and stay were they are and present their head.

Thanks for the things you liked. Smiley I hope you'll find the time to figure out optimized routes and tactics, I'm looking forward to sse anyone doing a better run. It's quite possible, thought.
