I'm pretty new at this SDA stuff , so I'll have to leave some of the technical details out there to some of you old school folks to figure out.
To sum it up in a bunch- Beat the game faster then the current verified guy in english. The rest is up to you after that as far as PAL ?? and the rest is concerned. I haven't a clue. You can always email me directly with hte questions, set up an aim session or something.
And to the_quiet_man--
Do you think that registering will make an impact on whether or not I get a response to some of hte posts I've made. I generally guest myself for a very long time before I try to commit to it.
Enhasa would probably know this ... Is Tri-Ace Fanboy still working on or thinking about the 100% Radiata Stories run? I'd hate to pull the plug on something that awesome if it is still in the works.
I don't know. I haven't really been keeping up with runs in progress sadly. Actually I want to know what he's up to in general.
Ok, I just found his youtube channel again. There's this. So I think it's safe to say he's running VP2 right now and won't even think about RS until way way after the deadline at the earliest anyway. So you can take it down if you want, or you could leave up just that one (all that money is needed to entice anyone to do such a crazy thing). Or for a somewhat maniacal idea, if you're not sure you're going to be "around" SDA all through the future, you could paypal me the money and I will combine it with my bounty. I will up it to $300 total (as a Frezy reference) if you decide to do that. Also I will mention you are the sponsor for $200/300.

LOL, I didn't read your whole post, then I PMed you with the exact same idea!
I will gladly send you the money. Here's hoping it gets claimed one day.

I think it'll have a minor impact, but I say if you don't want to join, don't. I'd hate to see you do something you don't want to. I think your e-mail is a perfectly fine way to get into contact with you if there are questions.

The_Quiet_Man, you can go ahead and delete my bounty; I'm gonna go ahead and do it myself.

well i think registering would help as at least then I could've PM'ed you about these things. I dislike using emails cause a lot of stuff sent to my emails go to spam and I dont notice it without a heads up.
anyway, what i'm talking about is that the secret of mana run currently up is PAL (meaning european) and in french. If i do it in NTSC (american) it'll be english but also it'll run at a faster speed. as In that era pal ran in 50hz while NTSC was 60hz. So a pal game runs at 5/6 the speed of a NTSC game. So a NTSC time played at the same pace and everything would only be 5/6th the time of the pal. so for the 5:15 record would equate to.. 4:22-4:23 played on NTSC. So do you want something that is just under 5 hours (not necessarily better in english) or something under 5 hrs pal / about 4 hrs NTSC? for a comparable thing. I just want this to be clarified or else people might think your only interested in an English pal improvement.
I hope that makes sense? If not, try pming me here or reaching me via a messenger.
I will give another day or so to hear from someone, since I forgot to post about it in the last couple days. I already know about UltimateDarius's Pokemon plans and someone who wants to give the katamari levels a try, so those people don't need to contact me.
$30 total for a complete set of IL tables in F-Zero GX. Said IL tables must appear on SDA. If multiple runners appear on the table, money will be split evenly.
I would prefer to not leave a due date for the bounty and instead leave it valid for as long as I'm around, but if I have to... let's see, June 2010 seems like a good date.
I really want to see an IL table for MM9. No, 10 Concrete Man improvements do not make a table
Here is how the bounty works.
If your level run is a second or less off the world record when you submit, you get 10 dollars. If your level run is the current World Record when you submit, you get 20 dollars.
I'll make an exception for the special stage since it's optional: 15 dollars for one second off; and 30 dollars if it's the world record.
Yes, this means you could make over 200 dollars if you have every single record.
I will pay people the moment the IL table is posted on the site. Also, the bounty is finished as soon as the table is on SDA. In other words, You can't submit a run that's slightly slower than the WR, then suddenly submit a world record time the moment the IL table is complete
I don't want this to take too long, so I'll make the deadline June 1st.
Bounties don't seem to get picked off all too often =X I'd like to throw up some more but I already have so many. I think what I'd like to do is set a due date on all my bounties for July 1st of this year, EXCEPT for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Tony Hawk's Underground and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. If I need a due date on those I would like to make it December 1st 2010. I would also like to bump the bounties for Pro Skater 4 and Underground up to $100.
For now the only bounty I would like to add is $40 for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 100%, on top of Sorcerer's bounty of $60 for the same run, if a due date is necessary then December 1st of 2010. I'll wait until July when a good chunk of my bounties will likely clear before I fill up any more space =P
The_Quiet_Man, if you wish you can make a note that UltimateDarius's second $100 was for the newly-verified E4R2 run.
Also, you can delete my bounties other than Radiata Stories, when you get the chance. Thanks.
I didn't even know what the heck that was for a while. Apparently it had been sitting around so long that the verifiers forgot about it. I will happily link the run when it goes up, but I'll change it now anyway.
I think you should stick around slowbro. After all, a lot of people went after your bounties and we finally got some much-awaited speedruns.
€ 40: Dungeon Keeper 1, segmented, any%, may use Creature Transfer
€ 40: Dungeon Keeper 1, individual levels w/o Creature Transfer (must include secret levels as well)
All runs must be submitted to SDA before 2009 is over and must pass SDA verification. If you're going to get one of above bounties and aren't sure whether you'll finish in time just ask, I'll then likely extend the deadline a little.
Notes for Giants:
For starting a mission you have 3 options. Pick the best one carefully: * Directly after finishing the previous mission: you cannot segment this way but this method saves lots of time in some missions since if the mission is on the same map as the previous one and does not have a spawn point since you'll then start from the place you were when finishing the previous mission. This is the only way to finish Level 2 Mission 5 in 17 seconds. * By loading from the main menu: if the mission does not have a spawn point on its own you'll start from the map's spawn point. This is slower in some maps, e.g. Level 2 Mission 5, where you have to travel across the entire map and thus need at least 60 seconds. However, depending on map, this could also be faster. * By restarting the mission from the in-game menu: this does not reset some aspects of the game, e.g. the player's velocity, vimp herds and base buildings. If you're found abusing this (i.e. taking advantage compared to the other two options, e.g. due to vimp herd being closer to spawn point) you'll be disqualified by verifiers unless you're also including the aborted attempt (which thus is added to your time as well)
I recommend using version 1.0 due to the "Infinite Turbo" glitch (pressing the Map button during Reaper Turbo) being fixed in later versions, however 1.0 also crashes more often. But note that (unless you're doing individual levels but which is impossible for Giants) you have to stick to a single version.
For segmented runs be careful when playing missions off the usual order. At least in mecc missions you keep your weapons and ammo from previous missions.
I've heard a few times that they patched the AI in later versions of Dungeon Keeper so using the initial release version might be better for speedrunning.
EDIT: Dungeon Keeper only exists for PC so there's no choice. For Giants I prefer PC, if you're about to run it on Mac or PS2 contact me before, whether I'll accept that depends on whether gameplay & glitches are mostly the same as on PC.
EDIT 2: Dungeon Keeper IL table is possible and must include secret levels, got confirmation from mikwuyma.
EDIT 3: Dungeon Keeper segmented any% paid to zoonel
EDIT 4: Giants can also be run single-segment if you really want to although I don't recommend it since it's difficult to finish Giants in one session due to crashes (at least in 1.0 but you'll usually want to run that version due to glitches fixed in later versions)
EDIT 5: Giants bounty has successfully been claimed. Also, the Dungeon Keeper IL table has timed out (I might or might not repost the bounty soon).
Regarding Zelda 2, single segment run in under 1 hour 17 min. I'm getting ready to tape my run. I don't need the dollar bounty or whatever, just advice on taping. I've read many posts on what I need to do, but still have a few questions.
Anyone who who could chat with me on aim would be appreciated. My aim is jnewguy4567. My thoughts are that I'm recording the gameplay with DVD recorder, but do I also need to videocam myself doing it? I'd have to change out tapes and pause during gameplay to do it because it goes over an hour. So do I need to videotape myself also? I don't want to be counted negatively for pausing it to take care of tapes.
Anyone with the rules/advice please I.M. me on aim, jnewguy4567, and my name is Justin. Thanks for your time.
Regarding the Zelda 2 single segment run, the person who just posted it was myself, sorry for not logging in. My username on here is chops. Sorry and thanks. - Justin

Good luck
There's no need to videotape yourself. A DVD of the game's picture and sound should be plenty. The video already up will be hard to beat, but I bet you know that again good luck.
Video taping yourself is only in regards to if proof is needed in regards to button mashing (if somebody believes you're using turbo, which is against the rules). Otherwise, recording yourself isn't necessary - just the game.
Guess I'm not quite ready to get out of SDA bounties completely ... This one won't be as big as a lot of my previous ones though.
$25 US for a max-2-deaths single-segment speedrun of Xbox 360 community game Being. The deadline is quick: March 15 to have the speedrun done and ready to send in.
That's plenty of time. This is a short little 2d platformer, designed like an old-school game (your character can't even hurt enemies) with tiny, vibrant characters and background tiles. I think it is an extremely charming game. SDA viewers deserve to see this game in action.
My guess is that a SS would be under 10 minutes.
Ha ha, I thought of something funny Enhasa could do with the $200 I sent him. He could use it to buy savings bonds or a certificate of deposit or something, so the Radiata Stories 100% bounty would (hopefully) keep increasing I doubt it but I'd be all for it if he actually wanted to do this. Just don't put it in the stock market I don't want the $200 to become 35 cents or something...
