Edit: As of 19th June, 2017 the run can be viewed on the following playlist.

Original Post:

As the title suggests I am thinking of doing a 100% speedrun of bully. This is a work in progress, I have only planned a couple of in-game days in bully.  Planning will be done while playing the game (instead of making a general plan) because I will be attending each class everyday and will be going to bed as soon as it is available. Therefore, I will be very time constrained. But hopefully I will be able to post the videos up on youtube once I have planned and recorded a segment.

I could plan this run all myself but I would like to see if there are sequence breaks/other improvements that I don’t know about. So feel free to post any moments were you used a certain glitch to your advantage to speed up missions etc, or you see a major improvement to my run!!

Now for the specifics of the run:

Click Me:
Go-Kart Unlocking During Chapter 2:
I’ll put this here because it’ll make a huge impact in speeding up the run – I am able to unlock the go-kart once chapter 2 starts by using the out of bounds glitch seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mLiyhEPk8w (the one with the rock). I had a hunch that the 3rd street go-kart race is available during chapter 2 even though you aren’t suppose to have access to that area at that time. So simply, I will do the 5 go-kart races at the carnival and then the 3 street go-kart races when practical to unlock the go-kart.
[on the 360 I think it could be possible to unlock the go-kart during chapter 1 by using the bin glitch shown here depending if the carnival is accessible etc]

What Things I Will be Completing to Get 100%:
Luckily, there is some ‘flexibility’ on what you need to do so you can reach the 100% total in bully. You fill find a complete 100% checklist here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/942199/52178
However, I won’t be completing a couple of those things because they aren’t practical. The % lost from not doing the things will hopefully made up by doing extra errands.

Things I won’t complete and why:
• Level 3+ of paper route job --> it doesn’t give you extra %
failing 3 classes in row --> because it adds 1.5 days (dunce hat only gives .26% anyway) Edit: I will in fact be doing this...
• Travel 100 KM On Foot, Travel 50 KM On Skateboard, Travel 100 KM On Bicycle --> I am quite positive that I won’t be reaching those figures because I will be doing A LOT of go-karting
• all other game achievments that are not listed below (others don't contribute a %)

Game Achievements that I will be doing that give extra % (that I know of):
  • pulling 20 fire-alarms which gives me .25%
  • shooting 1000 Projectiles gains .29% (will be done with the auto-spud cannon)
  • Buy 500 Sodas

Time Constraint Issue:
To be as practical as possible I will go to class as soon as it is available and go to bed ASAP  as well. This means I have a small amount of time to do errands/missions/collect objects during the day.

How to do classes as fast as possible:
Unfortunately you are unable to exit the class once you have reached a pass mark and still pass the class (e.g. you fail if you prematurely exit a class). All classes will be completed as fast and as normally as possible except for math I believe. Here, once you achieve a pass grade is achieved a section of answers will be spammed so the questions will run out.

Boxing Matches:
I am thinking of unlocking the 5-hit combo as soon as possible so I can do the boxes matches the fastest. But this will involve a small detour to pick up 2 extra transistors which I will be doing during last minute shooting. I get back to school just in time for the class.

Carnival Prizes:
Ticket carnival winning will be done only once photography lvl 5 is finished (you get double prize tickets). Not sure on how many tickets you need to obtain so you can buy each prize from the tent. But I will win most prizes from the shooting gallery (I’ll be needing to have to practise that so I can get really good at it)

Money Needed to buy Clothes:
I will post here, how much money is needed to buy clothes from each shop once I work it out.

Obtaining Collectables + Pulling Fire-Alarms:
The majority of the fire-alarms will be pulled at the boys dorm. This is because that one involves the least side-tracking. Fire-alarms that involve 2-3seconds of side-tracking won’t be pulled.
Rubber bands/G&G cards will be collected with at least side-tracking as possible as well. There are many collectables that are on the route of missions. I need to work out the ones that you really need to side-track to get to and when I should collect those.

Yearbook Photos:
I am hoping most of the students can be photographed during missions which they appear in so I don’t have to chase them up.

Pumpkins and Gravestones from halloween Smashing:
These 2 will be smashed, of course, not during halloween but where they are stored. Pumpkin --> basement of school. Gravestones --> smashed during mission with Zoey.

Escort Errand Missions:
These will be done using the go-kart. Here the person follows at a somewhat 'walking' pace right next to the go-kart, instead of going at a snails pace while holding hands.

Beating up secret pirate will be done when I do find the pirate ship errand.

Bike-Races:
I am able to use the go-kart during bike-races. However, the custom bike trick doesn’t work. Instead the go-kart must be placed, not near the bike race marker, but a few metres in front of the race spawn (this is because it disappears if its placed at the bike spawn or too far away a distance from the bike race spawn).

Missions/Games that Gives You No Extra %:
  • small offences cutscene
  • errrand intro
  • all detentions and the prison outfit
  • Future Street Race and Future Street Race 3D
  • Tattoos and haircuts
  • Paper route lvl 3+
  • Spraying tag of each clique

I think that’s all that I remember that I wanted to say. In the next post I have listed the 1st 2 segments on youtube. I’ll add the plan of the segments a later time.

Test Run Youtube playlist (was only ~40% Complete):

Segment 1 and 2 Videos: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

segment 1 was just the early missions, slingshot then english 1, algie escort, errand intro and then I saved here because I need to get a stink bomb from a box/crate for that bitch (this involves some luck so I save).

segment 2: that bitch and activating the diary when its first avaiable :P, then sleep, save bucky (which follows on nicely) to the candidate. Save afterwards because doing all the errands one after the other involves A LOT of luck.

Stay tuned for segment 3. I will be doing all available errands (except escort christy) during the 'time freeze' that occurs before halloween.

Looks good so far.

I hope you have planned to complete the GoKart races as soon as possible. Having a GoKart should speed up things immensely.

Looking forward to following this.
Looks nice, keep up the good work.
I remember this as one of the longest game ive ever played, good luck with a 100% run Smiley

Whats with the Fire-Alarms? I didnt get it, is this an achievement? Like pulling 20 Fire-Alarms? Cheesy

Its only really long because there are 50 classes to complete. If it was only completing all the missions then that would be pretty easy.

Yes, pulling 20 fire-alarms is one of the only three achievements (that I know of) that gives you an extra percent due to the unlocking of the fire-hat. (Its also apart of the normal 100% completion list). Its worth doing because it gives me .25%. I need all the % I can get since Im skipping a few of the 100% checklist items due to reasons listed in my first post.

thanks for the support guys, I appreciate it! I'll be needing all the support I can get due to the many, many times I stuff up segments and having to do them again and again. Talking about failing, I made a blooper video of sorts:

edit: changed route for both segment 5 + 6

here is segment 3 and 4.
In segment 4 I do halloween, the big prank, help gary, smash pumpkins and then russel in the hole. I redid halloween many many times to try and get it near perfect, which I do, but the rest of the segment is quite bad - i.e. I get hit by russels charge since I ran too far away from him by accident etc etc. I didn't want to save after the big prank because its too small of a segment.

ive given up on uploading to youtube because it rejected a video less than 10 mins again.

Segment 5
I decided not to do locker stuff and canning (2 errands) because i would've been really late for class. Hattrick vs Galloway is an evil mission to speedrun: a lot of times a prefect catches me while skateboarding to the toilet. Due to some mistakes I get to photography ~7secs late. Otherwise I do photography as fast as I possibly can.

segment 6: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=KNRB8IWG
I originally thought i was going to do boxing missions but I forgot that I am able to do carnival date right after movie tickets. Saying that this segment is long would be an understatement. After I do carnival date I do the 5 go-kart races at the carnival, then afterwards collect a few collectables, do go-kart city race 1, then smash 2 gnomes, collect another rubber band and ride to where the city go-kart race 2 marker would appear. At this time its ~2am so i pass out and do the race the next day. Afterwards i catch the bus to school, do geography 1 and then lastly before saving I do bog roll errand.
I did this segment so well I had 10secs to wait until i passed out. So i tried to line up my bike nicely so after the go-kart race I could hop on it and ride to the bus stop. But unfortunately I put it in the wrong place and it disappeared.

next segment (segment 7) ill be doing the canning errand before math class. In segment 8, I'll be doing the rock glitch to get to blue-skies, go-kart city race 3 (which unlocks go-kart) and ill be testing to see how many out of the way collectables I can pick up before 7pm.

edit: here is segment 7:
i did this on like my 5th go. I actually had plenty of time to do the errand. Since its a small segment I made sure i did math class the fastest possible (did some thorough testing) but it couldve been a second faster, haha. I save here instead of doing the next part because I normally screw up jumping up the rock for that glitch.

i have attached my 'report card' for classes so far. Its pretty hilarious. You'll notice that 2 days of school classes has been skipped. The 2nd day of classes was skipped because i completed the candidate before doing any classes so they were skipped. However, I DO NOT know why the fourth day of classes gets skipped. Luckily, the next day classes will have the skipped classes going first.

Keep uploading them on Megavideo, the quality is superior to YouTube.

Loved Seg7, I didn't know prefects counted as students. Grin

Only one question: Why get the dam transistor during the Last Minute Shopping mission ? A few of the bike races pass through there.
you didnt know where germany is on the map Sad (or was it just a mistake?)  yet you were so good at maths Cheesy  good run
Quote from Warepire:

i got these 2 extra transistors so i can learn the 5 hit combo asap. The 5 hit combo is very useful at boxing (makes it almost twice as fast) which occurs before any such bike races

this was a mistake - i clicked on the wrong flag.

im sure everyone has been waiting for this part of the run where i unlock the go-kart very early. Here it is: [noembed=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAoi44Tmm-s]Segment 8[/noembed]
I decide to collect 3 of the collectables that i think are most out of the way before going to sleep

I was wrong about the order of the classes. The next classes are chemistry 2, english 2 and then the skipped classes. (this may add an extra day to the run >:()
my game recording monitor has died so expect no more segments from me for awhile. my other monitor which is 24inch...i like playing games at full res so recording at 1920p just takes up way too much space. plus i need a break anyway.

Sad Sorry to hear that (the monitor thing that is). Don't rush, keep making steady progress. Take a well deserved break. I will look forward to the remaining segments when you start again.

Before deciding to plan the run any further I have decided to finish my 'field research' - work out what things give what percentage. This took quite longer to do than as I expected - as ThomasDollar pointed out that this IS a long game. I just forgot how long it was.

From my field research I have concluded that I have to basically do everything on the 100% checklists excluding obtaining dunce hat (fail 3 classes in a row or fail 5 classes), skateboard and run 100km but I must complete the year book and I MUST ride 100km on a bike :(. If I didn't do those 2 things I would be stuck in the very high 99% range. I was hoping that the errands would be worth more than they are so that I could skip the riding of 100km on a bike etc (i.e. each average errand is worth 0.04% and all errands equate to 2.11%).

I need to work out what % you get from walking 100km and I've got to check three more values (including total % gained from doing errands) and test to see if I can obtain the burgular mask during halloween but other than that I think my calculations are quite correct.

If you have any interest to see what percentages give what, click on the spoiler below download the provided attachment. I believe I have included everything. Inside the spoiler lists the things that don't contribute any percentages

Final Note: When I do get back into planning the route Ill probably plan it to competition without posting any videos or other such comments because I am quite positive that I may have to make changes once the run is done and so I can concentrate better. (This game is gonna take months to plan - its so big!)

Things that Don't Add Any Percentages:
  • All other game acheivements (for 360) not lised above in secrets
o  game achievements don’t get registered on PC anyway
  • spray tag for each clique
  • completing 9 dentions (prison outfit)
  • Errand Intro
  • Small Offences Cutscene
  • Dodgeball Sidegame
  • Midget Wresting Match
  • Freak Show
  • Future Street Race
  • Future Street Race 3D
  • Level 2+ of Paper Route

would love to see the whole run. Thank You!

personally i've started playing, but quite soon realised i cannot have both play this game and have positive emotions about my gaming.

It might be a good idea to post your ideas and plans here, that way more people can test it out and maybe give you constructive feedback.

Also... at least in the regular edition the % from errands stops increasing after completing 30.

luckily the % increase doesnt stop in the scholarship edition.

I havent done anymore planning as of yet (still have to work out how much % is given from running and skateboarding 100km) but I made an excel sheet which lists when I will collect each rubber band/G&C card/smash gnomes (its attached). Some spaces are blank though (so any help is appreciated)
Note: i used the numbering according to the candiedskull website: http://candiedskull.com/bully/rubber.html
Note 2: mailbox armageddon is a scholarship mission
Note 3: didn't include collection of transistors because they are quite obvious
Transistor 1: collected during ALH
Transistor 2: collected during help gary
Transistor 3 + 4: collected during last minute shopping
Transistor 5: collected whenever I do nerds challenge
Transistor 6: collected whenever I do the tenements

haha i click on the new post button and this dialogue box comes up saying 'Warning: this is a very old thread. Make a new reply anyway?' Anyway, I've had the urge to start speed-running bully again so here is Segment 9: Part 1, Part 2

I've decided awhile back that once I've finished the run I'll be running it again: making changes and putting in any improvements I find later on. This is because I think i've made some planning mistakes i.e. doing all the errands in the school at once might be a bad idea etc and I can implement any changes that people suggest as well. Also in this segment just completed I forgot to pull the fire alarm.

Notes about Segment 9:
- I tested to see if the 5hit combo would be faster than the 3hit combo in boxing. It turned out they take the same amount of time. Except that was before I figured out that you can move in the ring - so the 5hit combo is faster by like 40 seconds.
- I couldn't really remember what I originally wanted to do during the midday period so I just did the lost teddy bear errand
- I get the haircut so I can do the mission Weed Killer the next day or is it the day after....
- as the fast food errand is the only errand which forces you to change clothes I get that out of the way.

Ive posted all youtube links to the first post

Segment 10: Part 1Part 2
Some Notes:
- with better optimisation I should not be late for class (same with the last segment)
- if i drive the go-kart in the starting area of the race (on race the vale) the go-kart will disappear. This also happens if i park it a small distance in front of the start as well. So thus I park it a fair distance from it (further than necessary actually - I just didn't want to screw it up again)
- I forgot to pull the firealarm again before activating race the vale and I had plenty of time to do it
- my 'biology skills' are not the best

Next segment I'll be doing Tad's House, collecting the collectables around that area and then doing boxing challenge. Then it'll be chapter 3;D

Suggestions/Ideas/Improvements/Questions?
Glad to see you running again, even its only practice segments, I've been entertained watching them thumbsup

Thanks BhaaL:)

Segment 11 Notes:
- russel is a cheat
- derby got egg on his face
- here is a blooper
- other than that the segment wasn't too optimised. When I'll record it for real (after Ive finished the test run) I'll make sure it's optimized to SDA standards i.e. 'no visible mistakes'.....

Bad news: I've gotten capped so I don't think ill be able to upload any videos for awhile. I'll still be planing though. I should be focusing on my studies anyway since I've got final exams coming up.

In the upcoming segments I think I'll focus on getting the nerd safehouse ASAP. But this means doing nerd challenge - the summo wrestler game takes like over 10 minutes which sux ass and i usually get it on my third go (due to dieing). Anyone have any tips to complete this mini-game quickly except stay in the middle and only avoid the blowfish (even thou bad food makes you weigh less)
...is good and for the win.
Looks good. I enjoyed watching your progress so far. Hope you keep it up!
