Doesn't really matter, but by converse, do you mean use Jolt and Slice to wound them near death?
What the guide says makes it unclear, but IIRC it is only the farthest ranger in the room that is the trigger for Tantra.
That Tantra fight seems like it needs a little luck to go that well. You need Lin to get Forcacion'd, and you want Lin to die before Nina, and Ryu to survive.
I fought Gigantis too. About pulling him, you can pull people by z-targeting with R2 and then holding onto triangle before shooting with Lin. This does knockback based on how long you hold it and gets an enemy's attention usually. (Side note, since not everyone knows about R2, Nina's move attracts enemy drops so you can pick them up if they didn't fall on walkable areas.) Holy shit, 40 fire bombs. =/ I was just expecting to use Fragball here.
I'm very slightly surprised that he used D-Dive against 2nd Tantra fight, since I didn't. But, I killed most of the petraphages for party XP during this area. It's not that hard with Lin, but it does takes time. I also went back to the appraisal girl after Zeno to get Violet Blade, so the weapon was of course much better.
I'm surprised he's able to D-Dash as much as he is doing really.
The Trinity fight, I did without D-Dive, but I was fully aware that if there is D-Counter to spare, this would definitely use D-Dive to save a lot of time walking around the area.
So the trick you didn't know of was the 40 fire bombs? That is pretty crazy.
