RetroUSB released a new console, called the AVS.

I'm having some issues with capture though, but only with AmarecTV. The AVerMedia C027's capture software has yet to have any issues, with initial testing. For Amarec, I can't seem to get any capture settings right.

The system outputs at 720p, and while the page says 48KHz audio, the instruction manual says 44.1KHz audio, and my capturing seems to support this.

My first test set the framerate to 59.94, and the audio to 48KHz. Clearly the tempo is too high. The framerate might also be too high?

My second test has the framerate at 29.97, and the audio at 44.1KHz. Amarec doesn't seem to like non-48KHz audio with HDMI for some odd reason. Again, the tempo is too high, but it is better than the first test. But with the 29.97 framerate setting, frames are missing.

These are the current capture settings:

Does anyone have any suggestions on capture settings?

:edit:

Apparently the 1.1 firmware update fixes the audio pitch issue. However, I can't nail down the FPS one.

Any chance you could take a screenshot of the main preview window (borders and all) with both of those settings active? What I'm looking for is the Video stats on the lower right corner (which shows the framerate the capture card is feeding Amarec). One thing I remember from a few years back is using the Preset window doesn't always work properly. While you can have setups for different capture modes, etc, just by populating some of those fields and making them active would mess up general settings. It's hard to describe, but when I setup presets for my Dazzle (1 for composite Genesis recording, the other for s-video Wii recording) the preview/recordings would never come out right (always something different, either framerate or frame size, etc).

This one?

After the firmware upgrade, I did another test using the 720p you see in the first screenshot, and everything appears to be fine. But then with those same settings for Ninja Gaiden, and my FPS is 119.88. Same capture settings, same Yua settings.

Here is an OBS video showing what Amarec is getting fed, and another with SMB3, with a Yua encode for SMB3 as well.

Leno, can you make that picture wider? If you expand Amarec, along the bottom you'll see View [bunch of numbers], then Cap [numbers] Live [numbers], and the next one is supposed to be Video [numbers] and Audio [numbers]. The last two show what your capture device is sending to Amarec.

As for the 119fps, that's an issue with some media players. If you load the video in VLC it'll show up properly as 59.94, but others (like MPC) will show 119.

Can you also list your recording settings? I need to know what codec you're recording to, and the recording framerate you have Amarec set to. And lastly, have you tried 3.10 Amarec yet?

Huh, learn something new.

Recording setup:
Recording settings:
Maximum framerate: 999 FPS
Filter processing is off
Codec is Lagarith, with null frames DISABLED, using RBGA, multithreading enabled. For what that's worth, I'm using v1.3.27.
Audio is PCM uncompressed at 128 kbps. I suppose this can go higher? It wouldn't really help quality though...

I can't seem to find a download link for it. Can't even find the link for 3.00c again, which is what I'm using.

Since you're recording in HD, check out this guide. It's possible that Lagarith is taking too much system resources to record, especially if you're using a mechanical hard drive. For HD sources, going with x264 with lossless settings, even though your CPU usage will go up, can record at a rate your hard drive won't choke on.

As for Amarec 3.10, it's attached to this post. I'd suggest trying x264 with your current setup before upgrading to 3.10
