Nice, I can't wait to see the sewer. Speaking of which(Surprisely) killed my last run, the run was pretty nice to perfect and I miss-jump at the end and boost sideway to nothingness. Aside from this I have two nice thing:
1- is the best water boost I ever had Tongue .

2- is the longest boost I had in the archives tunnel(I'm able to get that boost about 3/4 or 3/5 times but this one was the longest by far).

BTW, this was done on my mac since I'm currently downloading it on my friends computer.
EDIT: forget about this, his computer lag more than mine :/ .

What?
After reviewing my footage from last night I decided that I was unhappy with my first sewers segment, as i didn't quite land where I wanted (I landed on a lower section of roof making the second segment far too hard, and forcing me to hit a slow-down trigger). So i spent another hour on it just now and got the perfect segment. This boost is way harder than any of the stuff in the storage (i have to clip through a wall, land on a boostable surface with no floor, boost under a ceiling, and land on another boostable surface, then boost up that onto a curved roof while taking no damage during the blinding flash of a flashback). When i finish off the last sewer segment i'll upload a slow-mo video of some of the tricks and a map-view of how they work, this one definitely included Tongue

I remember that one being a pain, I used to practice it since I wanted to have this part in my SS but due to the inconstancy(*cough*1/40*cough*)I decided to give up and in a really aggressive case the difference between the two strats were mere seconds(like around 8 IIRC). And the % of success rate were really huge(like 67.25% of difference). Though I still never succeed your Choir boost, it's insane, I still can't believe you had it on first try during one of your stream"I'm going to try something incredibly Hard" "Ah, first try Tongue " .
What?
Just went at it all day today and have Part 3 done Smiley

That looks really hard to pull off. What's your success rate on those two new boosts?

The cistern boost took about 1-2 hours of solid attempts to get, the sewer boost took at least 6.

1 to 2 hours, no biggie add to the SS todo list Tongue . Kidding, they are very impressive as your speedrun up to now, should be done soon for both of us I imagine. Only question I have, why are you always going left in the southern prison(part2), it's like 1.5-2 seconds faster by going right and you can get a boost in the right direction. You can also get a huge boost in the entrance of the cistern toward the sewer, but since you probably don't want to redo your sewer, we'll think twice about this one.
Edit: The boost I'm talking about.

I have to wait for the flashback to end in the cistern before I can get through the wall, so it doesn't really matter if i get the boost in the cistern or not (without the boost i already have to wait a second or so for the flashback to end). I'll add the prison south on my todo list though.

First glimpse at Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is now online!

Looks like the game uses the same engine and similar assets, which means we'll be able to break it quite nicely Smiley
Main Work!!!
nice, but I think they upgrade their software months ago(as I saw on their youtube channel) so I think we'll need to learn a completely new physics and restart breaking a new game.
What?
Amnesia A Machine For Pigs (AAMFP) is still using HPL2 like amnesia, but some bugs will most likely be fixed. Frictional's next game will use the new engine HPL3.

I though AAMFP would be using HPL3 already Sad . That's sad but nice at the same time considering how easy the game will be to break once again. Compared to my ATDD first playthrough, when I'll be scared, I'll try to hide in wall in this one Tongue .

btw, remember when I talked about a double stair boost in the rainy hall, I start making another 100% run(that I hope will be optimize this time Tongue ) and here's my segment 1:

Best run I ever record, final time: 30m28s, I know this isn't sub 30 but F**K IT, I'll upload this one that is almost perfect and I have nothing to complain about(except two silly mistakes) and I'll post it right here after upload Smiley .

Edit: Uploaded three post lower
Totally rad
Congrats, Andre! Are you playing the game on that friend's computer? I'm still trying to figure out why the game doesn't run well on my laptop. Tried all kinds of things, but nothing seems to make a difference... I really want to start recording attempts Sad
I had a new idea for the Choir, but my framerate is so bad that I can't test the glitch properly (and I certainly can't record it).
Main Work!!!
No I did it on my computer,
I don't know why it start working properly on my computer but if you find a way to make it work, I have probably around 1 minutes of lag that could be avoid. So, a perfect run that avoid all these lag and wouldn't do any considerable mistakes should go around 29 minutes.
I didn't try the Apjjm cistern trick in this run but I'm starting to get it 2/5 times(maybe eventually something that'll be marathon worth).

Time between( )is time lost to an ideal non segmented situation

Chapter 1

-Rainy Hall: I got the third best case of speed trigger and went overall good even got a bosst at the end(-6 Seconds)
-Old Archives: Took me five seconds doing the get through ceiling glitch which compared to my usual run(-5 Seconds)
-Entrance Hall: Pretty clean and fast, I lose 9 seconds because I fell from the pillar but it’s still faster than the older strat(-9 Seconds)
-Archives: was perfect for a SS, I even got a boost
-Cellar Archives: pretty much perfect, I go in the water like one frame after the Karenk start eating the flesh I gave him.
-Archives tunnel: was very good I did a little mistake there in not succeeding to jump on the upper section near the end.(-4seconds)
-Back Hall: Perfect
-Study: was perfect for a SS but I played a bit too safe at the door(-2 seconds)
-Guest: do the clip very fast, grab the bottle during the flash, move the picture without triggering the cinematic and jump dangerously, pretty perfect.
-Storage: Was perfect aside the door during the flash, I usually open the door and grab a rod during this flash, so this was bad compared to my usual Tongue (-5 seconds)
Machine Room: … (-12 seconds)

Chapter 2

Prison Southern(Part one): getting hit by the grunt(overall lose time due to this -17 seconds)
Prison Northern(Part two): miss the first clip once, the rest was nice and easy(-3 seconds)
Entrance of the cistern: I consider that ideal for a SS
Morgue: Perfect
Entrance of the Cistern:  I fail the clip very hard.(-12 seconds)
Sewer: Better than Ideal.
Nave: pretty much perfect
Choir: got damaged but I gain time with a lot of boost to increase my walking speed Tongue (-11 seconds)
Nave: Really fast clip(compared to my usual) and got a bit problem jumping on the roof since I don’t use the safe strat that is faster and … SAFE Tongue (-7 seconds)
Transept: Perfect
Nave: perfect even considering I’m a bit safe on the stair.
Chancel: …

Chapter 3

Cells: Perfect
Nave: Perfect
Chancel: miss the small jump once(-7 seconds)
Inner sanctum: Use two Laudanum to glitch through the wall faster
Orb Chamber: perfect with boost and stuff.

Overall: I’ll submit this run because it beat the current (not mine) SS record by 17 minutes and it beat the current segmented record(that will be beat soon) by almost 4 minutes. I’m very proud overall, I’ll be stopping playing this game a bit and wait for someone like AdamAK to come and beat my time so I’ll try to beat him again. This could be beat by 1m40 in a perfect, insane, undoable sort of way, but I doubt it will go that low without finding any new glitches. I’ll still submit this one because I do undoable segmented trick, I am aware of those tons of mistakes I do(my human part acting up again), but I’ll stay with this at the moment.
What?
Nice run Smiley

Just had an "oh shit" moment in the choir: I was able to save-warp to the exit facing a little off centre, it appears the game doesn't use the order of the start areas loaded in, it just always spawns you at PlayerStartArea_1 temporarily for some reason, not entirely sure what is going on there but it saves a little time so that's nice.
Main Work!!!
At the moment, I'll try to encode my run pretty soon and submit it, I'll stop playing amnesia a bit(since the next run I'll have to do is at the marathon, but since I offered Mike to give the game to AdamAK since he was having no other game, I don't even think I'll do it there also). Probably in a month or so, Adam will beat my time and I'll restart practicing this game like a crazy to include new strat(restart until I get a perfect Rainy Hall, More aggressive Entrance Hall, A trick Adam was talking in the Refinery?, your new Entrance of the Cistern strat, maybe OOB morgue, maybe one of the three insane sewer route, Nave OOB route, Choir boost? Maybe not Tongue , Cells OOB). Can't wait to see your next video, it's going to be from where to where?

Next video will be nave, choir, transept & getting captured (end of chapter 2). Last video will cover all of chapter 3. Hopefully will be have finished recording the choir by tomorrow, but it depends (i'm going for three boosts in the choir).
A machine for pigs is probably going to come in out sept - you could always run that (or race :D?). I really want to come to a marathon one day and run amnesia but my uni term dates and exam dates suck Sad

If you come, it would be total insanity. I would really love seeing you doing an SS of this, for AAMFP, it wouldn't work since they really don't like a game that has been release in the last 6 months like but if you come, F**K the loading crap, we could race this at three even if the time wouldn't be significative.

Let's do it! It would be amazing. I'm able to stream the game again, now (doesn't run as well as it used to, but it's playable) so expect to see a lot of Amnesia streams from me. Did 3 runs yesterday, and the only thing that I really mess up is the Choir OOB section; that really kills my runs. I'll grind it out for a few hours this week, to see if I can learn to do it perfectly. Other than that, I'm pretty much good to go on most things.

Regarding AGDQ, you shouldn't pass on Amnesia so easily; I don't want to take credit for all the hard routing and testing work you guys have done. Would love to run it, of course, but make sure you know what you're saying Wink

The reason why I didn't mind giving you that game was because you didn't have any game(it's sad that they don't like Master system game because your sonic run was beast) and that I already have 5 games including Amnesia. Sure Amnesia was the run I wanted the most to do but I prefer that you have 1 game and me 4 than you 0 and me 5. Like I say, a race is an idea(I even think Mike put us for a race if we check the spreadsheet). Anyway, no matter what happen I'll be happy with it Smiley .

On another note, I pm flip and wrote on the w/reset thread(hope you're all seeing me coming). Yes, Amnesia SS /w reset will be doable, so I've start doing run of this yesterday and it seems pretty simple.

New routes:
1-skip entrance(since the moment I found it, I always dream of using it Tongue )
2-study room(rock skip)
3-guess room(walking skip)
4-storage room(explosive skip(taking back the shovel route but I only need 1 this time Smiley ))
5-Machine room(slow down in the machine room and the back hall skip)
6-Morgue
7-Choir???(video apjjm please Smiley )
8-Transept(Flashback skip)
I think that's pretty much it, I won't do any of the through wall save glitch, because they are more precise(the opening door are frame perfect and getting through a wall require the box position to be almost pixel perfect so when you're stress, there is a big chance of screwing up(even when you're not stress).

i'll probably be finished with the choir either tonight or tomorrow so i'll upload my choir segments when i'm done so you can use it for route planning. I won't be able to come to the marathon this year thanks to exams on my first week back (i will definitely be watching as much as I can though!), but hopefully next year I'll be able to make it, and maybe i can run amfp then Tongue

It's dumb that as soon as I'm done with ATDD, instead of just broke free of all this work, I'll need to put it somewhere else(AMFP), I'm happy and sad at the same time that this is never going to end Sad .

It's sad that you can't come though apjjm, btw, thanks for the choir that you'll probably upload tonight or tomorrow Smiley .

André: Here's the alternative way of doing the Nave OOB part. It looks more reliable than the way you usually try to get up the high section.

Managed to get 2 45 minute runs (real time) today, while streaming, by the way. Nearly had 40 minutes, but then I lost 4 minutes in the sewers, and my splits went from -2 to +2, hehe.
