The nave route could be an option if I have my two laudanum at this moment, congrat on doing the choir from the first try and it seem as reliable as succeeding mine at the first time but I have a question there, does this require a jump at the end.

I got very lucky on the choir jump :P. You basically just have to spam jump as you fall and hope you land on the right spot. You don't have to jump at the end but it helps preserve your speed. The nave route you can quite easily do damageless if you fall down in the right spot (just jump once and run sideways into the wall as you fall) and is fairly reliable with a bit of practice - worst case scenario is that you are running around the choir with a bit less health. The last part of the route (transept -> chancel) I would recommend still using the water lurker pit to suicide, as using the tile to get OOB can be very random with where abouts it places you on the other side of the wall, and you have to be in the right spot otherwise it's a, well, dark descent.

Recording of the route stream if anyone who is interested missed it: http://www.twitch.tv/apjjm/b/303504782
Still trying to work out where my hollow needle went!

Edit:
I reloaded in the tunnels to practice that jump, so it would have been forgotten there...

I didn't intend to use the transept-Nave, I use death-abuse already and the "bad wordS" Nave route between choir and transept is already a pain in the "other bad word" anyway and I recommend that you go see my choir in my 100% for the end of your choir I'm pretty sure it's faster by 20 something seconds(if you're still doing a segmented with death abuse). For the choir in my SS, my strat is also pretty stupid so why not using yours, anyway, it's not like I'm working on this SS for 7 months now with about minimum 3 attempts a week Tongue . In my run I restart when I fall at/under bleeding quite badly because I'm slowed down for 1 to 2 minutes which is unacceptable in my opinion. So that's where the two laudanum I grab by security in my run comes Cheesy . I'm currently uploading my Justine skip the lantern strat with a couple of routes options and it should be done in a hour or so, when it'll be done I'll edit my post. BTW, do you have an instant massager(like skype since it's the only one I'm using actively(like an hour a day Tongue )), so we could talk ourself more precisely than in this thread constantly, so this thread would be more for vids and strat.

Nice - going to have an experiment with that now. If you have steam or xfire you could add me on there, i am "Apjjm" on both.

Will be streaming whilst experimenting if anyone wants to drop by.

Edit: Streaming done for now. New justine route for the last level discovered and planned - it's easily the hardest trick so far in the justine run! Also did a run-through of the game practicing tricks etc. Video can be found:

Here's the tricks I was talking with you earlier:
Choir:

Perfect speed trigger+armor guy helm trick(I do it in the beginning cinematic):

Entrance of the cistern(better shown) I did it thrice in this video for the reliability and the best one is the third one(the second is a bad example):

Been working more on the last level Justine skip. I can get the spade out fairly reliably now, and found a new way to do the last part, which is much less random and perhaps a tiny bit faster than using the spade to boost back in bounds again. I wanted to try and find a way to skip the "walking" trigger but it is too big :(.

Relevant part (if you have already seen the first part of the justine map 4 route) is at 40 mins in:

Did some more practice today in justing, frustrating spade glitch is frustrating. Did a test run through though (with quicksave/load) in about 7 mins, which isn't too bad for illustrating the route. Made a highlight of today's broadcast which contains the test run and can be found:

Sub 4 would be the actual goal time.

I found a way to save about 1 to 3 seconds in the beginning of Justine(the route we use to climb up in other words), that will be the route I'll use in my speedrun. Also, I found a way to get in(from OOB) right aside the broken ladder but didn't manage to record it, I'll do a bit of research and if I can manage to do it consistently I'll use this way too.

Here's the vid of the save 1-3 seconds:
Main Work!!!
Hey I got through the game thrice today and my last attempt(that sadly I didn't record) was my best one ever, I succeed doing all the hard strats I was planning, with what I saw in my attempt today, sub30 will be tight but will definitely be possible Smiley . I think that from here to 2 weeks I should be able to finally have something Smiley .

Also, after a couple of testing, I think the morgue route I found is actually slower except with a perfect execution(by perfect, I mean perfect and it will shave like a second). The new nave route you found is actually slower than the one in the stair when you get a boost and succeed the shovel in one try(which is becoming consistent for me). I'll use the choir strat from my 100% run, it's very difficult but worth it. when we were talking in the instant messaging from twitch, I already said that in every of my attempt, I did kill myself with the dead trigger line behind me before the cells, after a lot of trying, I confirm that it's faster to kill ourself this way instead of being hit once or twice depending on the context by the grunt. My cells is becoming sick also, it's almost faster than the way with the OOB glitches. In the best scenario, just before the inner sanctum, I will have a Laudanum and I'll take it at the beginning of it. The glitch is way easier at full HP. tomorrow or this night, I'll be recording attempt. If I can't succeed a speedrun correctly tomorrow or after tomorrow, I'll be live recording a couple of attempt if you want to see the strats I use in my run eventually Tongue .

New hard drive arrived today - going to start recording segments either tonight or tomorrow evening.

YEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy . ok that was a bit exagerated, but I'm happy to see you restarting your speedrun.

Here a Speedrun I did of Justine(saving everyone but using no glitches)got 7:43 with SDA timing:

It's almost perfect, I think it could be improved by something like 8 seconds with more perfection but I'm way satisfied with this.
IIRC, you don't have to pull that lever in 5:48

Nice run :).

Just finished the distillery. I've managed to improve all my previous times so far, by about second per segment! With the entrance hall skip this brings the improvement over my old run (in SDA time) to 41.84 seconds already. Will be uploading a video when I get to the back hall as I did in my previous run.

Very nice! when my three mains runs will be done(any%, any% glitchless, and justine saving everyone with glitches) I'll probably restart almost every segment of my 100% run(I'll keep some of them(e.g. the one who took me like 3 weeks in example Tongue ).

Here's an improvement of 47 seconds over my old run(Justine saving everyone with glitches). It took me a while to succeed the beginning glitch but whatever, we're currently searching for a better way to do the Crypt and after we'll exploit it to the maximum, I'll redo an improvement(maybe sub 5 Smiley ). aside from the beginning, eveything is pretty perfect(aside from the chair in the library -_- (At least, it's less than a second). Final time 5:21.

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!

My speedrun with the sick route I plan for 7 months now is finally over. Hell Yeah!!!
Final Time: 31:05 (note that 7 months ago when I start up this speedrun, I didn't even though subbing 45 in a SS would be possible Tongue )

Rainy Hall – Got the perfect speed trigger so everything went pretty good.
Old Archives – Did the OOB trick pretty fast and got a boost in the OOB which is also pretty nice.
Entrance Hall – The chair and the entrance hall overall was pretty awful , I block on the broken pillar, miss place the chair to jump on the windows and it take me a while to place the chair for the glitch but after this it’s pretty good.
Refinery – Went very good, the only mistakes is when I jump and it boost me to the left(0.5 second lost there).
Cellar Archives – Went terribly good, everything was almost perfect even when I throw the bait in the water, I jump in frame perfect so the monster don’t come at me.
Archives Tunnel – sick execution of the glitch, I’m very satisfied of this place also.
Back Hall(1) – Perfect, I use spam jump to boost in the stair so I move like 0.5 to1 second faster and the jump over the ramp was perfect.
Storage Room – Was very good, the greatest mistake I do is placing the chem. Pot on the second barrel 1 frame too soon, forcing me to return in the menu.
Back Hall(2)/Guess Room – My back Hall was terribly bad so it delay my flashbacks which slow me down in the guess room. The rest of the guess room went pretty well.
Back Hall(3)/Study Room – This was perfect,  when I went out through the windows, I though I was going too far and totally though the run was over.
Back Hall(4) – Pretty perfect!
Machine room - … it’s the machine room.
Prison Southern and Northern – Pretty perfect aside from the rock slide glitch taking me too long.
Entrance of the Cistern(1) – Got the glitch on the second try(which is pretty a miracle).
Morgue – Nothing to say, I even open the door so fast that the monster doesn’t even try to break it.
Entrance of the Cistern – took three try for the glitch, which is pretty slow but very acceptable for this glitch.
Sewer – Perfect for a SS(I couldn’t ask better).
Nave(1) – Playing safe in the stairs and the shovel glitch took me twice but it’s very nice.
Entrance of the Choir(1 and 2)/Choir: They are in the top I can hope for a SS.
Nave(2) – Four try for this glitch is incredibly good(Just succeeding this for me is incredibly good).
Transept – Pretty perfect, I use the new Apjjm skip the cinematic trick.
Nave(3) –Very good.
Chancel – I got killed incredibly fast with the kill trigger line.
Cells – Perfect!
Nave (4) – very good, I took a lot of damage so I drank one of my two Laudanum
Chancel(2) – very nice execution overall(The last glitch was pretty slow because I was careful since I was shaking and I didn’t want to lose my attempt there).
Inner Sanctum – 15 seconds is very good for this glitch, so I’m satisfied.
Orb Chamber – I drop the second pillar, aside from that it’s perfect.

We have to say that this is my week Tongue . I just finish an almost perfect glitch less speedrun, I'll upload it over night and post it in. I finally finish all this stuff I've been planning for 7 or 8 months, now I'll start going more in my super meat boy stuff and binding of isaac but I'll still be here to help and restart my 100% run Wink .

Here it is:

Chapter 1
Rainy Hall: got perfect speed trigger, everything was fine.
Old Archives: perfect, with a aggressive approach of the door.
Entrance Hall(1): Perfect wait before the door, to open during the "it lies beneath the very stone of Brennenburg".
Archives: I block on the chair for 0.5 second in the beginning but the rest was pretty perfect(got my best book puzzle ever I think).
Entrance Hall(2): perfect
Wine Cellar: That rock isn't supposed to block the door usually but all was pretty good.
Entrance Hall(3):perfect
Laboratory: perfect
Entrance Hall(4): perfect
Refinery: didn't grab the wheel from the first time.
Cellar archives: a lot of littles mistakes(make my speed run a little more stressing, isn't that the goal of this game).
Archives tunnel: perfect
Bach Hall(1): perfect
Storage: very good drill part grabbing but the box wasn't throw at the right time so I couldn't jump on the counter but I get up fast.
Bach Hall(2): perfect
Guess room: perfect
Back hall(3): perfect
Study room: perfect
Back Hall(4): perfect
Machine Room: IIRC, it's my best one ever.
Bach Hall(5): perfect
Chapter 2
Prison Southern: The bed was 1 frames aside the position I need him to be -_- .
Prison northern: Perfect, just after choir the styliest part.
Entrance of the cistern(1): miss the level on the first try.
Control Room: good, better than most of the time I do it.
Entrance of the Cistern(2): a lot of mistakes there, probably the worst part of the speedrun.
Cistern: very good, I miss my 100% strat that is almost impossible but I succeed the other impossible one(walking right aside the water in a easy position to fall and throw a rock on the bridge, almost randomly.
Entrance of the cistern(3): straight line.
Morgue: perfect
Entrance of the cistern(4): perfect
Sewer: Good thing I've grabbed a Laudanum Tongue .
Nave(1): Perfect aside from the Choir jump(I didn't lose speed but I needed to go search for the Laudanum).
Choir: perfect and my best segment(a lot of hard trick there and a couple of surprise Tongue ).
Nave(2): perfect
Transept: perfect
Nave(3): perfect
Chancel: perfect
Cells: perfect
Nave(4): perfect
Chancel: perfect
Inner Sanctum: perfect
Orb Chamber: perfect
(more comment will be in the verification eventually(after the improvement of justine saving everyone with glitches and my 100% run of the dark descent)).

Just seen the SS with glitches. Damn that was sick.
I also have good new of my own! Part 1 is done!

Improved every segment I did in the previous run by at least one second.

Edit:
Appears youtube's done it's thing and managed to completely mess up the brightness in the video. Applied one of their edits to see if it fixes it. Meanwhile i'm Uploading somewhere else too.

Edit 2:
Swapped video link with a new render that youtube hopefully won't make too dark.

Incredible job here, like in my 100%, you decided to do the archives tunnel, in 1 segment Wink . I'm departing for the marathon now, so you have 2 weeks to do another segment Tongue thumbsup .  good luck and I'll probably be lurking this thread during the marathon.
Totally rad
Incredible work on the run! It made for a great watch, after it took me about a dozen hours to complete the game. I'm considering trying a SS run of this game as well, so thanks for uploading all the tricks and such. Hope I'll be able to contribute something to this games' runs Smiley
