It's a little different because myself and another runner are both waitlisted for the same game but different categories. That is why I am confused, though the waitlisting obviously has a lot of us anxious and confused as well Smiley

It's a lot of work organizing this thing!!!

Currently the committee is set on a 2-way race. Times and consistency are important to selecting runners for a race, to avoid blowouts.

Ah I see. Any chance at all of a 3-way race? Since beef's PB is only 3 seconds behind mine, and geridesu's time is only 3 seconds behind beef's it would be great if she was in the race as well, since all of our times are so close. But of course its up to the committee, and we understand. Shame Scott's PB is too far behind. Thanks for the reply!

I'm pretty sure if things are not progressed right now that they are permanently waitlisted. It's no big deal...I'll be sure to ask about Lost Levels and Smart Ball at some time but not now while they are trying to release the schedule.

My Escape from Atlantis race with Dragondarch was listed as Progress as of this message, but later I got moved to Waitlist, leaving him as solo. First, I really think this game serves best as a race. Losing Zerst kinda sucked in the first place, but I'm just not sure why this game got changed after the "okay guys, we have solidified all of our decisions fully" message. Is there any way I can make a case otherwise here?

Unfortunately no. Keep in mind it's also consistency. Getting that PB just before finalizing didn't help. Tongue

Your run was changed to waitlist about an hour prior to that announcement. They are not choosing a race.

Unfortunately no. Keep in mind it's also consistency. Getting that PB just before finalizing didn't help. :P

Your run was changed to waitlist about an hour prior to that announcement. They are not choosing a race.

That and poor timing on your PB, yes.

My old PB was only 15 or something seconds behind the others though, I still had a really good time at the time of submissions.

You're super consistent in runs and races, way more consistent than me at the sequence break and boss quickkills. Pretty upsetting that you got the boot. Makes no sense really, and the "bad timing" thing is pretty irrelevant.

You're both waitlisted, and the category is irrelevant. We don't have any specific criteria for how a waitlisted game would be chosen, other than "what fits best in this gap we have after a game was dropped" and "who is available on that day". In short, either of your runs could be chosen, or none of them.

Hey Matty. Thank you so much for the update. If this is the case, do you think it would be best to move me to rejected? DXTR is not only much better at mega man than me, but his category is shorter and he is already running at AGDQ. I thought you may have waitlisted me becayse glitchless seemed like an interesting change of pace. DXTR will be there all week whereas I will be taking days off from work since I live a few miles away.

I would love to run at AGDQ and am excited to be there, but it is for charity and I don't want to be selfish. I don't see why you would decide on myself over dxtr at this point if the categories do not matter. Let me know what you think. If you wanted to remove me from waitlist let me know if I should pay for registration (I already registered). I just wanna do whatever is best for the GDQ/viewers and such.

My AGDQ situation has changed some and I don't exactly know when I can be there at this point...I should for sure be there at least for Thursday-Sunday, still pending on coming before, hopefully will be there on Monday or Tuesday. My runs are currently waitlisted but I'll likely be doing Mega Man 6 commentary since not many people there will know as much about the game for commentary. It would be helpful if MM6/classic Mega Man block could be scheduled later in the marathon for this. If not I understand, but I'd like to be there to give a more knowledgeable commentary on the game. I'll keep you posted on my dates when I know for sure when I can be there at the event.
