I thought I might open a thread for this game as I started speedrunning it. I also met some other people who begun routing it.

The gameplay of this game is incredibly good for speedrunning, it's very fast and precise, we already found tons of shortcuts, cinematic skips, etc ...
Btw there is a Time Trial mode for each level of the game, saddly not for story mode.

I didn't recorded a full run so far, but I made some youtube video to show the shortcuts I had found yet :

I still have lot of shortcuts I never showed, I'll probably stream upcoming days to show all what I have found !

I'm also currently learning this game the last couple of days. I'm having some trouble with this skip in Village. When I reposition myself on the rock that I'm standing on and then power leap to the moving rock I'm just out of range to grapple it even if I time my jump just right. Do you somehow get a bigger leap if you jump off the rock immediately as you get on it?

Also loving all the skips found so far, especially in Ice Cave. Keep it up!

For this skip in Village, prepare your power jump while you're grapping the rock, don't release your grap until you land on the rock. Then it's quite precise, you have to release your power jump just when you hit the rock, then you should just have the range to grapple the moving stone. Otherwise, you can just play safer and wait 5 seconds the next stone.

Yea this game is full of interesting skips even in story mode ! I don't stop finding new ways ! Btw I just beat my Sanctuary Time Trial Time to 3:06, hardest route by far to me.

Single Segment can definitely be done under 30 minutes !

And there is my first single segment, WR was 35:37 from Namaztak, just did 32:38 :

I discovered something interesting at the end of the run (28:58), maybe this could be used to skip cutscene or I don't know yet ... I'm doing some test, I discovered you can go on the table on Workshop and Epilogue using same "technique", I don't know if this can be used for something ...

Ok, I calculated the best time that can be done with this route.

All cutscene that can't be skip, transition between levels, workshop and epilogue are approximately 10 minutes.
All my actual Time Trial Record together are 18:50.

So technically, sub 29 is possible, more exactly something like 28:50 if you perform the route quite good.
There is still some time to save in my Time Trial records, maybe 20-30 seconds not more. Sub 28 shouldn't be possible with actual route.

Little improvement done on Chasms (Thanks to DrammHud) :

Midas Mode is very usefull in this level, it's not dark anymore with it. Moreover, it mades the skip at 0:33, which was very unconsistent, a lot easyer. This skip is also better for Story Mode, if you use the previous skip like I did it on my previous video, you will activate the cutscene trigger.
At this point I ask myself if it would be worth to do the full run in Midas Mode, because textures are also used for some shortcuts and Midas just replace all the texture you grapple... And it graphically brokes the game Cheesy

We discovered a new huge glitch that can change almost all routes. This actually required a frame rate control using binds, so I don't know if we should allow it or better create a specific category of run using it.

After a few talk with Twikax, we realized that controlling FPS using binds was not authorized by SDA, so no super jump allowed. It remains to determine if binding input for the mode Midas can be authorized (it is only esthetics), we would like to have your opinion on the subject Smiley

I'd say that as it's a checkbox in the menus anyway, and it's just cosmetic, it should be allowed.

What happened to this game? I played it before it came out on steam and it's like a completely different game now. The old one was far superior, I think.

And I'm back with few new strats on each levels ! I updated all Time Trial videos with the best current time, some strats can't be done in any% though.

Also a "Crash fix" patch should come out in upcoming days, and that mean Any% will now be runnable ! Hope to see more people on this awesome speedgame in near future !

Hey all, i just started to speed run this game and i have a question.
There is supposedly two categories for ASAMU Any% NoFling and any% Fling. The thing is, the way i run the game is with flings but without the assistance of dropping FPS. Which in turn makes the Fling alot harder and you dont get that mega boost unless you do it perfect. Is there a category for this type?
I dont think this counts as Any% fling since alot of the tricks used in that category is not possible without dropping fps.
Here are two examples that i have done without dropping FPS and without any binds.
Sanctuary Time Trial 02:43:45
Village Time Trial 00:25:23
In my opinion there should be 3 categories.
Any% NoFling
Any% BindFling
Any% LegitFling
Since my category dose not exsist.
Toughts?

I decided to clarify this by creating all these categories on Speedrun.com.
There you can submit your runs !

I will submit my run as soon as i get a time lower than the any%NoFling. That is my current goal.
I do think the any%LegitFling can go down to around 28 min~, and it would be wierd to submit a time with assistance of flings that is slower than any%NoFling. Smiley
