Nice. I was wondering if you could make it to that upper area. Was even trying it out for myself. I'll have to add that to the Good Ending route I have.
I dont think this will help good ending out at all. There are just enough coins for the map and in your rout you have an extra 30-40 coins after you get into the second area. At most you can have an extra 8-10 coins with my bad ending rout.
Getting up there is MUCH harder as you dont get that ledge jump like you can in the second area. Dont know why, but you just dont get it at all. Must have PERFECT jump timing to get up there. That is why I allowed myself a few missed attempts in the final product.
I do encourage you to try it though, you will be able to appreciate that jump in the run a bit better
Yeah, I've given that jump probably about 30+ attempts so far. That is one pixel perfect jump to perform, so it is a good thing you got it on the third try.
As for the good ending, yeah, I think I'll stick to the route I have.
I think your route is the best route as the bad ending route does not have the extra coins available to even get the good ending. I will be playing with the good ending rout for a bit tonight and see if I can make any tweaks to it for any improvements.
BTW, at about 4:40 of your video you posted, no need for double jump. a regular jump will get you across just fine. save you some trouble.
Well, I just ran through my good ending route for a time and came up with 7:24. Considering that my execution wasn't the greatest, I figure sub-7 will be the target time to get unless there is a tweak found for the route.
EDIT: 7:19. Getting there. Once I get closer to sub-7 I'll start recording attempts.
I did full route planning now. With the proper coins eliminated, I deem a good goal time of sub 5:35 can be done. With perfect execution, a sub 5:25 can be done with my route. I will make a vid showing the refined route showing coins to pass on.
5:42 just showing the coin route. Not meant to be perfect. Encoding and uploading now.
You are wrong. The minimum amount of coins to beat the game is : 149 coins (for good ending : 399) Movement pack : 4 Map pack : 140 Finish the fight pack : 5 (Armor for your horse pack : 250) Here you can see a screenshot of both the ending screen and purchased DLC's : Ending screen : Purchased DLC's : To buy such a little amount of DLC's you have to use the early gun glitch (that i found i thin ^^ ) :
I am gunna be just as blunt as you. FUCK YOU!!! Let me explain. No I was not wrong. At the time when the strats we being made, all of the information in this thread is correct being March of last year. So where do you get off of telling someone that they are flat out wrong when this was never known? Would have come off MUCH better if you just said "hay I found this and it reduces the coins needed to finish the game." or something like that. Be more respectful please.
Now about the information you provided. What are you playing on? PC? You have a stat screen and graphics that the 360 version does not have unless an update was released between the time I played to now. As well as the timer...
The numbers you are saying dont make sense with the video you provided as well as it not being giving enough information.

Let me do this math. 4+140=144 144+5=149 In the video you state you need animations and sound. 149+10=159 And the night pack to get back to the guy with the gun. 159+75=234 Minor thing to leave out I guess when trying to give a detailed explanation of something.
About your video, where is the audio? Where is the demonstration of having the gun?
Your screen shots prove and show nothing. Anyone can buy any amount of dlc and make a claim. Where is "time is money"? How did you get finish the fight without the sword? Did you use turbo or something. You have to sharpen your sword 1000 times without the dlc.
If you want any of your post to hold any grounds, I suggest you make an unedited video from start to finish (beating the game). No need to worry about your time, Just do a FULL demonstration. Till then, nothing here is worth anything.
Edit: Dont get me wrong. I am interested in this if you can give solid proof.
Thats the early gun glitch. After you stuck in the message box AND the menu you reset your run ("Are you sure to clear ALL SAVED PROGRESS, including awardments and DLC?") That means coins too. And after you reseted your data and press start new game you are still in the message box of the gun guy. I can't say if it works on PC too but you can try it. and after the first cutsceene you have the gun in a new and clear run so you dont need the time is money pack! im just cutting a video with my bad ending run, wait one or two hours. AND if you still dont trust me add me on skype and i'll share my sceen to you. So wait a little bit
So let me see if I understand this. You go threw the game until the point you did in your video. You "Activate" the glitch then start a new game, and you start with the gun in the new game. Is that right?
Cool. That make this unacceptable for an SDA submission. SDA requires to count the footage of activating the glitch, then the reset, then the second game. So you would almost be playing the game twice in SDA's eyes. Neat find, but cant be realistically used for an SDA run.
What? Did you mean to say "Isnt this more like a segmented run"?
Even then, the current SDA run OBLITERATES it. And also it would count the coins collected in the "setup" portion. So the current SDA run would also have collected less coins over all.
A segmented run is beating a game using saves to beat the games once. Not twice unless it is Ghost and Goblins (witch cant be segmented).
Because of the mid run reset, they time would be added to the final in game time.
But the game has a timer and thats what i orient at. ^^ If its not Legit than i just do not post it on SDA. I have a youtube account and SDA cant delete videos there ^^
