I don't have the game anymore, but I had 3/4 of the levels from super monkey ball deluxe (super monkey ball 1 and 2 combined) done. I got discouraged by watching other replays and being off by .5 on a lot of levels though. Otherwise i would have finished them off and submitted.
I have also achieved "the sdkess" of beating expert, expert extra, master, and master extra without losing a life. Not very fast though mind you :P.
It makes me so warm and fuzzy on the inside when people plug SDA, it really does. Especially when they plug it multiple times in one article. I find it funny that they messed up and listed it as "Speed Run Demos'" for Deadly Towers.
That artilce is actually well written and very informative, and reminds me just how easy games have become (not in terms of Speedrunning of course).
That's cuz i suck at it. I actually thought of offering a bounty for a 60 level expert run...
The main reason there is no Super Monkey Ball Stuff on SDA is that most people played it for score and not for time, and any sort of single segment effort just isn't even close to being as impressive as the Individual Level runs. I bet that bounty wouldn't last long.
Agreed. The game is far from hard ... unless you play it like I do.
Regarding SMB, there was a time when I'd waste many an hour getting high scores/fast times, but then I saw what packattack, smilingjack13, and Miles (Miles = Jigpuff?) could do, and I cried. I don't think the SMB series is that hard, but reaching the skill level of these individuals is the least probable thing I could possibly do. So I quit.
Mr. Driller is fun but extremely hard, yes. I've got the DS version and with a lot of items from the shop I got to 1486 meters on the 1500 level I always pick the robo dude and never grab any air caps except if they're easy to get.

Take sdkess's 9999 PP run and make it much faster. How would it not be impressive? <_<
I see they left Jim Powers for the SNES off the list. That was the hardest game I ever owned a copy of. Never got more than halfway past the first level.
I'm surprised Adventure of Link didn't make the list.
Yeah, I thought that should have been on instead of the Original Zelda. Zelda's just tedious if you don't use a guide/FAQ, but Adventures of Link is just ******* insane. 0_o;;; espically if you try to keep one stat at level 1 the entire game. *shudders*
I am not at ALL suprised that Super Monkey Ball is on there, though. 0_o; holy god, that game is insanely hard once you pass teh beginner and half of intermediate...

I've actually done it with two stats at level 1 (Life/Magic). Not in one sitting, mind you, and with several Game Over interspersed in there, but I've done it. Even with the caveat that there's no way in hell it would've made SDA or any self-respecting video site, it's probably one of my all-time great gaming achievements.
