I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

SDA gets a mention in there.
Thread title:
You got a deletion wish?
Heh, they got the name wrong on Deadly Towers (Speed Run Demos).  Plus Bard's Tale II (which I still play sometimes on Apple IIGS) is amongst the list.
I'm addicted to games

Speed Demos Archive, strangely, has nothing on Super Monkey Ball

That's cuz i suck at it. I actually thought of offering a bounty for a 60 level expert run...
fuck you i wont do what you tell me
heh, good luck finding someone to do a 60 level expert run. o_O

you could probably count the people in the world that can do that without continuing on your hands.  the game is madly hard.

Fixed... >_>

Seriously, though, I would do one if I could.  But wouldn't it be 70 levels? (Edit: 65 with warps)
wise fwom yo gwave
I don't have the game anymore, but I had 3/4 of the levels from super monkey ball deluxe (super monkey ball 1 and 2 combined) done. I got discouraged by watching other replays and being off by .5 on a lot of levels though. Otherwise i would have finished them off and submitted.

I have also achieved "the sdkess" of beating expert, expert extra, master, and master extra without losing a life. Not very fast though mind you :P.

At least they left contra off this list.
Complete. Global. Saturation.
It makes me so warm and fuzzy on the inside when people plug SDA, it really does. Especially when they plug it multiple times in one article. I find it funny that they messed up and listed it as "Speed Run Demos'" for Deadly Towers.

That artilce is actually well written and very informative, and reminds me just how easy games have become (not in terms of Speedrunning of course).
Yeah, I said it.
Sinistar is the hardest game on that list. Definitely.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Why is Lolo on that list? Once you learn the stages, the difficulty instantly vanishes.
Cigar Man
No Ikari Warriors (NES)?

The main reason there is no Super Monkey Ball Stuff on SDA is that most people played it for score and not for time, and any sort of single segment effort just isn't even close to being as impressive as the Individual Level runs. I bet that bounty wouldn't last long.

Agreed.  The game is far from hard ... unless you play it like I do.  Wink

Regarding SMB, there was a time when I'd waste many an hour getting high scores/fast times, but then I saw what packattack, smilingjack13, and Miles (Miles = Jigpuff?) could do, and I cried.  Cry  I don't think the SMB series is that hard, but reaching the skill level of these individuals is the least probable thing I could possibly do.  So I quit.

This is a few years old, but still, watch it and weep, especially the 0.1 wire skill:
http://www.vortiginous.com/smb/compilations/SMB-AllRecords.zip

And the SMB master levels are nothing compared to 10-5 in SMB:Banana Blitz.
Let's fight to computer!
I'm a bit baffled what Zelda is doing on that list. It's big and time-consuming, sure, but hard? Not remotely, if you ask me.
Yarr
Mr. Driller is fun but extremely hard, yes. I've got the DS version and with a lot of items from the shop I got to 1486 meters on the 1500 level Angry  I always pick the robo dude and never grab any air caps except if they're easy to get.

Yeah.

Take sdkess's 9999 PP run and make it much faster. How would it not be impressive? <_<
Silver Hawk!
I see they left Jim Powers for the SNES off the list.  That was the hardest game I ever owned a copy of.  Never got more than halfway past the first level.
Scott Kessler should send some runs to SDA, he's insane.

I thought sdkess was more a skill runner than a speed runner anyway.
Pingas
I'm surprised Adventure of Link didn't make the list.

Follow the things Pweisger wrote here and you got some really difficult games  Smiley

Yeah, I thought that should have been on instead of the Original Zelda. Zelda's just tedious if you don't use a guide/FAQ, but Adventures of Link is just ******* insane. 0_o;;; espically if you try to keep one stat at level 1 the entire game. *shudders*

I am not at ALL suprised that Super Monkey Ball is on there, though. 0_o; holy god, that game is insanely hard once you pass teh beginner and half of intermediate...
Yeah, I said it.

sdkess is whatever he wants to be. He's that good.
bläää
Sdkess is a great gamer. I think we will see a new run sooner or later.

The hardest game I have ever finished is probably Werewolf for NES.

Games like Ghost n goblins, ninja gaiden, Zelda or any Contra game is nothing compared to Werewolf.

I've actually done it with two stats at level 1 (Life/Magic). Not in one sitting, mind you, and with several Game Over interspersed in there, but I've done it. Even with the caveat that there's no way in hell it would've made SDA or any self-respecting video site, it's probably one of my all-time great gaming achievements.
