Eeeeyah!
I'd like to see the Palace of the Four sword run way more than the other run that skips everything.

I was never able to make it to the Palace of Four Sword  since I never had anyone to do that link cable thing with. So I'd find the run very interesting to watch.

You've got a good point there.
It will use a glitch that enables the player to enter the dungeon without any need to play the Four Swords Mulitplayer game.

First (not shown on the video) you got to use the mirror and jump at the same time (when it works you should hear both the Mirror warp + Link's voice at the same time) then thats is when you watch the video.

I am planning to do 2 mirror glitch runs they are:
A) Mirror glitch run to skip Ganon battle, single segment.

The SNES run is obviously quicker but it requires a save (to enable Out of Bounds) making the run segmented..

B) Mirror glitch to complete Palace of Four Sword.
This run will be more interesting, there isn't a way yet without the impossible up+down combo to skip the 4 bosses to face the 4 Links. So it's going to be something like this:

Rescue Zelda,
Sanctuary
Go to the Eastern Palace
Get a lucky bomb pickup from Stalfos
Bow + Arrows
After first big key door, go to the right door for 90 more rupees.
Collect Pendant
Get Boots
Crack wall 100 rupees.
Get the book
Get Power Bracelet
Pick up 300 rupees from a chest at the Graveyard (sewers)
Get a mirror
Pick up moon pearl
Buy the flippers.

Early Items time: (reason)

Hammer (Helmasaur)
Hookshot (Arghaus)
Cane of Sonmaria (Puzzles + foot switches)
T.Sword (Faster 4 Link battle and Sword beam against Mothula).

There are optional items as well to get:
2 bottles both from Kakariko village
Bug net
Faries (to recover during a few boss battles)
Red Mail to reduce damage recieved.

Without these optional items the run will be even harder than Metroid Fusion 1% run.

Just need to add the best moments to save as that run will be segmented.

Note: When I start a run I choose a completed game file and select new game, this will enable to skip the introduction sequence about the Golden Land and the Arghnam's sealing Zelda away, there is no change to Link's status (start with Golden sword, etc).
"I need to get those damn frog coins!"
Aren't all exploration glitches in this game still banned, despite the changes in the OoB rule?

Or is only the hardware manipulation "up-down" glitch banned?

I think they said something about the SNES 5 minute thing in the new rules, but that might be just for skipping ganon.  It probably needs some verification.

Also, I think I heard that you could do the up down glitch on GBPlayer by pressing up on the control stick and down on the D pad.  Could someone test this?  I would but my disk is fucked >:(.

And I don't think up down should be considered hardware manipulation.  You don't need to take apart your GBA do do it, just press up and down really hard.  And if the D pad control stick up down works, even better.

I would love to see a 4 sword palace run.

If it can work that will be great the only problem in quality is that when you enter the room you can fight against the 4 Links but you can't hear any noise or see any sword based visuals (sword beam, sword block sprite).

It will be quite entertaining as well for such a low item% + what's also different from the classic sub 5 minute run is that to achieve the alternate ending you've got to face the 4 Links.

Speaking about that I've found the Beta 4 Links room a couple of weeks ago when I was using the Map viewer, you won't be able to see it in the real GBA because it was blocked by other background layers but when I removed them you can see the room.
He's back!
You have to remember just because the OoB rule has been lifted it doesn't mean extreme glitches which skip all the game are allowed.

Hmmm.
We allowed OoT to have:
Bottle Adventure
DoT skip
All 8 dungeons Skip

(To AKA)
I'm not saying you are wrong about Link to the Past, I understand that normally when entering the Palace of Four Sword it requires both games to be completed on the same file whilst my route skips doesn't need either game to be completed (making it an extreme glitch).
But at the same time Palace of 4 Sword (via normal ways) would require me to buy another copy of ALTTP + playing the entire Four Swords game.

OoT uses a series of glitches and tricks to skip large portions of the game and still falls a good bit short of the best possible theoretical route through the game. LttP uses one straightforward and messy glitch at the start of the game to go into the under world and walk into the loading point for completion of the game.

Maybe so, but that one uses up+down and the triforce room route.

I am going to do the Four Swords palace route where:
I am not using up+down so it requires a mirror glitch as an alternate.
I can't skip the 4 bosses in the Palace to face the main boss(es).
So maybe the glitch is straight forward but for both causes (no up+down and no boss skip) means it cannot be done in sub 10 minutes.

You don't need U+D to do it
DS Dictator

That can only be done on the SNES version as the GBA version was fixed.

A year ago I made a 3 part comparsion video of Alttp when it came to gameplay changes from SNES to GBA.
Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

My newer changes video from Super Mario 64 is more clearer as it has subtitles on the video which these 3 Zelda videos don't have.
i would love to see the 4 swords run.. Smiley
About Mirror Glitches,I found this weird trick:

I can't explain.Oh and if someone could upload this same trick with good quality on my Youtube channel, send me a PM on YT.It would be most appriciated. Smiley
DS Dictator
Even though my run isn't using the mirror glitch.

I wanted to ask you viewers something.

I'm on Segment 13 of my Any% Segmented run and I'm facing Agahnim's first battle.
My best battle so far is having him using 1 mini-ball shot (the ones that split up after getting slashed by the Master Sword).
Every time I face him he alway does one of these shots, I've tried mashing the B button and spin attacking a certain amount of times to manipulate his deflectable shots.

Is 1 mini-ball shot bad? I only lose around 5-7 seconds (as it varies on his movement around the room).
It's been like around 70 attempts so far when I face him and it's starting to get really annoying now every 2.5 minutes of seeing this jerk.

EDIT:
Don't worry viewers I've managed to defeat him without dealing any unfortunate split shots Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

This means now that I'm on Segment 14.
Zelda
Bump

Thank you Greenalink for sharing the routes to the items on YouTube! The route for Palace of the Four Sword (Mirror Glitch) can be found here (http://pastebin.com/gZK3JJvx). I have a Gamecube Gameboy Player and will keep practicing/streaming until I get recording equipment to capture high quality video of an excellent run that can be submitted to SDA.
Zelda
I made abbreviated notes here (http://pastebin.com/VwTFpdaC). Basically the route is as follows...

-Rescue Zelda
-Get the Bow & Arrows
-Defeat the Armos Knights for the Pendant of Courage
-Get the Pegasus shoes
-Get the Book of Mudora
-Get the Power Glove
-Get the Mirror
*Ignore Tower of Hera for now

From here, things look very unusual Tongue
-Head back to East Palace
-Mirror Glitch to Tower of Hera
-Get the Moon Pearl (Bomb Jump)
-Mirror back to East Palace entrance
-Mirror Glitch to Thieves' Town
-Exit and re-enter
-Mirror Glitch
-Get the Big Key (much faster than normal route)
-Mirror Glitch to Dark Palace
-Get the Hammer (Bomb Jump)
-Get an extra key for Swamp Palace (in the room to the left of the Hammer)
-Mirror back to Thieve's Town
-Get the Titan's Mitt
-Get 300 rupees (house to the right)
-Get Tempered Sword
-Get Shovel
-Get Flute
-Get 300 more rupees (use a bomb)
-Free the bird
-Mirror Glitch to East Palace
-Fly to drop-off 2
-Get Zora's Flippers
-Get Golden Sword
-Fly to drop off 6
-Warp to real Light World
-Fly to drop off 3
-Warp to Thieves' Town in Dark World
-Mirror Glitch to Swamp Palace
-Get the Hookshot
-Mirror back to entrance
-Mirror Glitch to Misery Mire
-Get Cane of Somaria (last item required :O)
-Mirror back to Thieves' Town
-Mirror Glitch to Palace of the Four Sword
-Good luck beating all the bosses with only 4 hearts!

Generally, you exit the dungeon immediately after getting the item you need (only exception is East Palace).
Zelda
I just completed an attempt today very casually. By casually, I mean that I made several trips to catch fairies and I got the 3rd and 4th bottles, which are not included in my route. Honestly, I am happy with simply completing the run. However, I will be working on shaving the time down significantly before I actually submit a video of the run to SDA. Sub-50 minutes is possible, though insanely difficult goal. If I manage to achieve sub-55, then I will likely submit that run. Here is the first ever full run!

Edit: Much has changed since I posted. Ideal goal time now is sub-40 minutes.
Zelda
Just completed a run today in sub-45 game time. Plenty of room for improvement but happy to PB. I am starting to grind the fastest strategies and will begin recording high quality attempts in order to submit to SDA. Notes are posted in the description of the video.
