I've tested if I can use Yua with avs2pipemod:
Code:
avs2pipemod test.avs | Yua --input=- --output-basename="MyRun" --qualities=m

But it doesn't work.
unfortunately i didn't design yua with pipe input in mind so it would take a lot of work to make it work. for example right now yua relies on knowing how many frames are in the input ahead of time.

That's what I thought.
Is it possible to add something like a --system-binaries option to use my own ffmpeg and libx264 builds (I would want to use the latest x264)?
not that i know of since yua is statically linked. i don't know too much about runtime loading of dlls either. i've seen it done under windows but not under unix.

I see. In this case, can you maybe add the latest "last x264" version to the next release? Yua 6 uses x264 version 0.135, but the latest is 0.140 (r2377). I would compile it myself, but I can't handle Yua's source code. I'm missing the typical "./configure && make" pattern. ^^"
is there a specific reason you need r2377? not sure if you've read the whole thread, but i've had some nasty experiences with shit randomly breaking (not in x264 of course but in ffmpeg and the versions are interdependent meaning if i change one then i have to change the other).

Is there any way to add in where I can choose to save screenshots to? Having them always save on the desktop is a bit annoying (and possibly adding JPEG support for screenshots would be nice to have as well). When was the last build of yua updated btw?
For some reason, exiting Fraps while Yua is active crashes Yua. Minor inconvenience, but erh.

I'm having issues with the encode that yua is spitting out for my video. I've attached the low quality output for reference. The output freezes the video right at the start and then the rest of the movie plays with significant sound desync. When I re-encode I get an identical result. The raw VOB file does not have this desync.

I encoded a different video using this game in the past and had no issue.

probably someone is doing something naughty with opengl. normally i would say "probably me." but it's fraps, you know. so i dunno.

if i can get the original vob i can look at it. probably fucked up timestamps.

Here is the link. It's ~280MB. There are multiple runs on the file and I am trying to encode the last run on the file.

I guess nate is right. I did load the video in DGIndex but I still get results like these: http://s7.directupload.net/images/140125/rrx6fjkd.png
My advice: if you want to submit the run, let nate do the encoding for you. Grin Tongue

PS: WTF have you done to this game? It's completely broken. Shocked

Terrible things
i think this vob isn't encodeable by yua. what you should do is rip the dvd using anri. this will result in one vob per "title". your run is probably in a title by itself. you should be able to encode that vob with yua.

note that dumping nmf using mencoder doesn't even work in this case because of the resolution change mid-file:
Code:
New video file has different resolution or colorspace than the previous one.
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver.

I didn't know having multiple titles in one VOB file would cause this issue. After erasing everything on the DVD and redubbing the video (which would make it impossible for my DVD player to automatically combine files), the VOB encoded correctly on Yua. Thank you for your help Nate.
Pinkie Pie's Bro
Does Yua work better on a Linux system than a Windows System, I've been thinking of switching to Ubuntu, but the only issue with doing that is the compatibility with my Capture Device (honestech USB2S which in turn is a STK1160 according to the inf file)
it should be identical.

Then I guess it'll run slow as it'll take me a whole day to convert one level segment Sad
I don't know if this has been posted in here but if you use a colon in your Yua export file name, no errors will pop up but the video files will not be created correctly/at all.
that's an easy fix. noted. thanks.
Will there ever be .avs support?
not built in, but i've heard you can use avsf.

What should I be doing with my audio commentary before I try to import it into yua? I recorded it in audacity and exported it as a WAV file, what else (if anything) should I do before adding it in through yua?
can use the normalize feature of audacity to get it up to a good level since i don't think yua does that. not much other than that really. just make sure it starts right at the very start of the video you're adding commentary to and you should be fine.

The Dork Knight himself.
Just a question about audio commentary: Normally when encoding a video and adding in a statid to the front, Anri would basically append a 5 second video clip with no audio to the front of the run. This made sure that the audio would sync up with the video.

When adding in an audio commentary track, does Yua pad the secondary track (that contains the audio commentary) with the same amount of silence if there's a statid present? If not, is there any way to add that in as an option when importing an audio commentary track? For audio commentary tracks I prefer to mix in the game audio at a much lower volume, and it's easier to have everything sync if I start at the same time as the game audio.
