Hey, all. Been speedrunning this game on emu for a while now and would like to do a fully legitimate and proper WR run of it. Have not for the life of me been able to find what I'm looking  for, however, as I'm looking for the English NTSC 1.1 cart.

This means that on the back of the snes cartridge near the important! label it should have an imprint saying "##A" (not sure what the two numbers would be). I would love someone forever if they're able to find and let me take the proper cartridge off of their hands as I've been having difficulty trying to find it via local used markets and have been wanting to do a console-proper run for a long time now.

If you're unsure how to identify the cart but have a working snes to test it on, it is extremely easy to identify the proper version in the first 10 seconds of gameplay based on the character walk speed

There's quite a few carts listed on eBay, quite a few for under $10. You will have to ask the sellers (which is annoying, takes time, but for what you want is necessary) but there's quite a few opportunities there right now. Good luck.

Thank you for that link, scaryice, I've contacted the creator of that thread.

I've been trying this but sadly many of the vendors who are selling this game are established stores who aren't willing to go into their inventory for me to check for this Sad

What lazy asses. Even if they aren't willing to play it, it takes 5 seconds to look for the stamp. Numbers don't matter, just the letter A (or lack of it).
I'd wager that the Made in Mexico carts might be 1.1s, as they're (probably) a later print run by Majesco. If you've ever collected SNES titles you might know them for being ridiculously cheap -- shitty paper labels, black and white manuals. Some games are like this, but I couldn't tell you if JP is.

So,

Also, don't give up on asking sellers. If you clearly state your intent to purchase their item, I think many of them will pull the game out and check. There's no harm in sending a message to every single seller under your price limit, and I'm sure at least some of them will get back to you.
Update:

The guy in the link given by scaryice has a *lot* of carts, however can't find one with a back-label that has "XXA" to signify version 1.1 The theory on it being only Mexican carts (which lack proper back labels and therefore have no version imprint) would make perfect sense and explain why he's having so much trouble finding one from his vast collection. Thanks for the idea yggdrizzle, hope it works out!
So it looks like the cart I'm looking for will definitely be a Mexican-manufactured cartridge. Is there any way to identify them (easily) other than the imprint on the back (which doesn't exist on these carts)?

Front label says Made "Assembled in Mexico", though I'm not 100% sure this is exclusive to the Majesco release. edit: it definitely should be, I was thinking of 'made in mexico' if that is a thing

Either way, if you don't care about the label here's one for $5 shipped (if you're in the US): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jurassic-Park-Super-Nintendo-SNES-Video-Game-Tested-Works-Assembled-in-Mexico-/251297542098?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3a82802fd2
“Assembles in Mexico” is definitely a later release. I compared the 2 different variations of the Majesco release with the made in Japan release and there was no timing difference between the carts.
Also compared the timing between the Japan carts with the different imprint numbers on the back label, and none of them stuck out.
Any other ideas? I can look through the carts pretty easily if anyone knows what to look for on them.

Err no I meant is there anyway to identify a SNES Cart's version (1.1) other than the imprint on the back (which the Majesco carts lack which is the main problem at this point) without having to open up the cartridge? Again, thanks for all your help and advice everyone!
Not aside from what is known here. If there is actually a gameplay difference (it doesn't look obvious to me from these two videos) then that's probably it.

There is no 1.1 version in any region other than the US (unless those are based on the US 1.1).

If you open the cart, this is the board. The difference is the "1" at the end of the code "SNS-P-J8-1". A 1.0 will be ""SNS-P-J8-0".

I usually recognize SDA people on NA, but this is the first time it's been the other way around. Hi K3VBOT

Top right corner of labeless Majesco version (which I own) has a code SNS-USA/CAN-1-M. Not sure if that means anything, but my game is the 1.1 via code on the chip
That's just the code for their cart/back or something. It's on the Majesco carts I own, so I assume it's on all of them/unrelated to the game.

Duly noted. I wasn't about to check every game I owned either. Smiley
Hey dballin! I just joined this site yesterday to be able to possibly help this guy out a little easier. He joined NA and contacted me about my JP hoard. I looked through all 200+ JP carts at the back labels, but there’s no way I’m about to tear through 200 JP carts to find a board revision. I’ve tried every cart variation, and the guy’s walking speed is the same on each one of them.

Not real sure what I can do to help

If you have the Majesco carts you could verify whether or not the boards are SNS-P-J8-0 or SNS-P-J8-1. I suspect that they will all be SNS-P-J8-1, which is the version he needs. If the non-Assembled in Mexico carts don't have the XXA then they are 1.0 or have had their backs switched, (unlikely for a low-value US game) so there's no further need to look into that.

Ahh thank you for all the help, again. I contacted this person

however he says he has since gotten rid of his cart and hasn't responded yet to me asking if he knows whether or not it was a Majesco cartridge giving him a description of what to look for (the lack of back label, the paper front label), so as of now it looks like I'm SoL
So it looks like I may have been misled and possibly wasted a lot of your time K3VBOT which I really apologize for. I've been doing a lot more information hunting and research and it appears that a lot of confusion has been brought as the original rom site I learned of the USA 1.0/1.1 revisions was wrong. After experimenting around the NTSC-J version is the same as 1.1 (the one I'm looking for), and checking out other rom sites which have the different versions, it appears as though there's no real difference between USA 1.0 and 1.1 and that the original site I got my USA 1.1 rom from was a mislabelled or repackaged PAL-UK rom (all the PAL roms have the slow movespeed I mentioned earlier). After checking out more sites which have the different listed versions of the USA roms, it's looking more likely that all three NTSC versions (J, USA 1.0/1.1) are the same in effect of what I'm looking for.

The only way to really know for sure is if someone would be willing to check out their USA cart and compare it with a video I made which has a side-by-side comparison of the two different versions (NTSC/PAL) and let me know if their USA version is indeed the same as the one in the video (the gameplay speed between the two versions is extremely easy to spot when side by side like this). Again, I'm sorry if this was the case as this was something I should have found out way earlier. But it would explain why every versoin K3VBOT has gone through appears the same.

At least you figured it all out.
Didn’t do me any harm to look
