Owner of World 9 Gaming...kupo!
Hello everyone!

Mike here from World 9 Gaming and I am very pleased to announce that we will again be supporting the practice rooms and LAN for SGDQ! Wanted to post here with some info on what we do to support the event.

Regarding the practice rooms: SGDQ has a main practice room as well as a private practice room and World 9 provides the equipment to support both of these rooms. The main practice room is open to any speedrun practice or races (even if you don't have a run in the marathon!), however if the room is full we reserve the right to ask some casual runs to move to the casual room to make room for runners. To date there have always been TVs available in the main room. We also monitor volume in the main room, it doesn't have to be totally quiet in there but please be conscience of your volume. The private practice room is open only to runners and couch commentators. This room is meant for quiet practice, especially for runs that are on deck, so voice and game audio should be kept as low possible.

World 9 has a booth set up in the main practice room that is staffed 24/7. At the table we have consoles and controllers available for checkout so as long as you bring your game we can hook you up with everything you need to play. We also can assist you with hooking up consoles or if you have trouble with any of the TVs (switching inputs, etc) we are happy to help! Note: our equipment is first and foremost to support runners with a game in the marathon. That is not to say that we will not lend equipment for non-marathon practice but if we get low on a specific console we will only be able to lend to runners until we get more consoles checked back in. Finally, in general all our equipment must stay within the practice room the exception being runners who may bring it to the private practice room.

We also will be providing PCs for general use in the LAN room. There should be at least 20 available and attendees are welcome to install their own games on them. There will be a limited internet connection in the LAN but it's shared between all the systems so please try and limit your usage. If you have any problems with the PCs if there is not a World 9 staffer in the LAN please let us know in the practice room as that booth will always be staffed.

Let me know if you have any questions or requests, otherwise looking forward to seeing you there!

I have a question - what consoles/controllers can you provide?
Owner of World 9 Gaming...kupo!
We will have 10+ on hand of all the main consoles used in the marathon, that is to say:
NES, SNES, Gamecube (~4 w/gameboy adapters), N64, Genesis, PS1, PS2, XBox

We will also have a limited number (~2-4) of the less used consoles:
Master System, Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii, Wii U, PS3, PS4, XBox 360, XBox One

As for controllers we will have several on hand for all the consoles we bring, just bear in mind that they are used for general play at large conventions so you may have to test out a few to find one in excellent quality.

We may have some other even less common consoles and accessories like Famicom and Neo Geo, some of which we keep at home unless requested so let us know if you have any unusual needs.
