Hello everyone! Wizard of Oz SNES is a game that means a lot to me. I have put hundreds of hours into practicing and routing this game. It has always been a dream for me to see other people running this game.  If anyone is willing to run it just contact me, I will be making video tutorials and I have already typed up a standard and advanced route for the game which you can view at http://www.speedrun.com/Wizard_of_Oz . I know a lot of you guys are not going to want to run this but here are some reasons why this game may appeal to you:
1) There is very little RNG in the run, there are only 2 stages that can make you lose a few seconds over RNG and they are both fairly early in the run.
2) The run is execution heavy and a great challenge.
3) The game is infamous, yes the platforming may make you skeptical but it is consistent. Some platforms are just not designed as you may think.
4) The game is already fully routed out and ready to be run.
5) There are backup routes that can make the run much easier.
Also, for those who are wondering we do not have to do the Lemon Drop Game in Any%.
Thank you everyone I really hope some of you want to take part in this!!
Thread title:
I've never tried it, what would I be looking at?

Well the run is very interesting.  The runs difficulty can pretty much be chosen by how risky you are willing to play.  Carts of this game typically run from $5-$10. I plan on making a full video tutorial on twitch soon, but if you'd like to get started I do have a tutorial on Yellow Country: It's not the best but it covers the basics. You can also read my documentation of the route on the speedrun.com page.  I definitely hope you'll be able to join the community!
Im quite new to speed runs, but I live near an old games store, so im gonna go and see if I can snag a copy. I'll get more use to the game and see what happens. Im not worried about it, but I wont guarantee anything.
But im pretty much open to any game.

That's awesome! Just remember this game does require a bit of practice. Good luck on finding a copy of this! I'm really excited to see a potential runner!
Hi I'm Kryssstal
dunno what this game is but I love everything about this thread, and your enthusiasm about whatever it is

hope someone runs your game and remembers this hobby is about fun, not competition/drama/gossip/complaining over how other people play their literal entertainment devices

tweeting it so that like, at least 1 person will see it and smile as well https://twitter.com/krysrltal/status/615396146186358784
I'm here because of Kryssstal's Tweet. It was fun times when JC was running this, glad you took it up too Koffing!

Thank you so much for looking at this thread and appreciating it! It really means the world to me. This game has been a very time consuming project so to see results like this makes me so happy. It's great just to see people become aware of Wizard of Oz as a developed speedgame

Found  a pretty big timesaver in Emerald City the other day

Also found a Lilac Shoe Charge skip that is fairly precise. Sub 27 is certainly possible now
